We're thinking about going to the Hilton Head DVC, which we've never been to, in July. So, most important question at this point is: what's the weather like?
J.

It's hot and humid - not much different than Orlando in July.

If you don't already have reservations, you might be hard pressed to get any for this summer. June and July are peak times for HH and most rooms are gone before the 7 mo window (esp. studio & 1bdr). Some have reported waitlist success, others have gotten rooms by being extremely flexible on dates.

We have been there the week before 4th of July and 2nd week of August. Both times the resort was at capacity.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the info. Just read the thread about someone asking about how easy it is to get res for that time. We are pretty flexible, and would actually want a 2 br. But, if we are going to drive that far, we would want 6-7 days.
As long as there is AC and a pool, I suppose the weather will be livable. In this case we wouldn't be marching through theme parks all day.
I'll check first thing monday morning. Thanks for the tips.

We were at HH in July(2001-4th of July) and it was very hot and humid, set records for humidity that week.If you were outside you had to be in the water. It was more humid for us(HH) than Florida at the same time last summer(02).

I feel like it is more humid at HH than in Orlando during the summer months. That being said, I go every July and love it! Just be prepared to be damp feeling immediately when exiting your room. Like someone said, you won't be staying in themeparks all day having to put up with the humidity. I was there just last month and the weather was cool and rainy the entire time, so I am looking forward to the warm and sunny weather in July. HTH

We were there in July last year. Very, very hot and humid! Almost too hot to sit on the beach..we had an umbrella. The ocean is very refreshing and we spent alot of time swimming and boogy boarding. The main pool and the beach house pool are nice and they have games in the afternoons by CM. The main pool turns into bathwater by afternoon..so hot that they dump huge buckets of ice in and the kids love it! We did mini-goolf one night and it was so humid that we didn't finish all 18 holes! Back to the AC! We are used to hot and humid(disney in June and Boston for the hot summers) but it can be overwhelming. Its such a relaxing resort that you can do everything or nothing..that's what great. It is hard getting ressies(at least sun-thurs) at the 7 month window, so we just had to add-on points there to get the 11 month window..we love it that much!

This is an excellent description of how HH has felt in mid-July the last 2 summers we've been there. That hasn't discouraged us in the least. We enjoy going for a dip in the pool to cool off and then riding to the beach on the bikes. By the time we get there, we hit either the beach house pool or the ocean for another dip. By the time we ride back to the resort, we're ready for either another dip in the pool or a nice cool shower. It doesn't bother us a bit.:D

Good luck!
