Hilton Head in early May?

How difficult will it be for me to get HIlton Head (2BR) in Early May 2011? Anybody on the boards have experience in staying there that time of year?

You are already within 7 months and should be able to reserve for dates thru May 7 right now.

2BRs are the most plentiful and early May is not a particularly busy time, so I expect you will be fine.

Early May is a great time to go. Temps are great (upper 70s-low 80s), humidity is still fine, everything is underway for activities and even the ocean should be warm enough then to enjoy a swim (mid 70s). Crowds on the island are very manageable and some restaurants will still be offering early dining specials.

No experience for early May. However, based on our experience hopefully you'll be OK if you book now. We just got a studio for the week after Easter at 7 months, and there are lots more 2 BRs than studios. Good luck!

We went in May of '08 the 1st week of May and it was awesome. It was not crowded at all and the beach was beautiful. We loved it and are planning to go back again that same time of year. I had no problem getting in at 7 months then - in fact, I think I made the reservation at 5 months. Good luck.

I booked yesterday for a 1 bdrm and had no trouble. May 8th - 13th. I was worried a little but got what i asked for.

We wanted a 1 bedroom for the last week of April or 1st week of May. They didn't have one during that time period, but did get a 1 bedroom during the second week of May.
