Hilton (AT DD) Timeshare?

Can anyone tell me what is going on with the Hilton across from Downtown Disney? We got a call from Hilton offering the cheap "vacation for 3 nights/4 days" at the DD Hilton to listen to their timeshare spiel. Horror of horrors, my DH booked with them to do it, so we have until November to use this thing. We aren't in the market for a new timeshare (we own DVC) and DH said he just thought we could get a mini trip in before our Oct BCV stay and use our annual passes again, so no harm.

I didn't know this hotel had any villas, or had gone "Timeshare". Does anyone know anything about what's going on there? Does anyone know what their sales presentation is like?

Thanks in advance for any help.

The Hilton timeshare property is on the other side of I-4 behind the Orlando Premium Outlets...only about 2 miles from the Hilton at DD. We did their tour and didn't think it was too bad....that whole property is brand new as they only started building it about three years ago.

poohstx,

Where did you stay when you took the tour. Our understanding was that there were several properties and we could stay at any one. They told DH to check their website for Orlando locations.

Did they let you out after 2 hours? Most of all, did you bite?

We actually stayed at the Hilton at DD so it was a pretty nice perk! We didn't bite, but I preferred the Hilton program over Marriott since it is similar to Disney with points and the ability to stay less than a week. I'm positive we got out on time but remember it was 3 years ago!

I'm a DVC owner, but I am familiar with the Hilton Grand Vacations timeshare program.

I have stayed in a one bedroom villa at a Hilton timeshare. They are very nice and comparable to the one bedroom's at either BCV or SSR. In fact, I commented to a friend, "Did Hilton steal this idea from Disney, or did Disney steal it from Hilton?" Either way, nice rooms.

The Hilton timeshare on International Drive is new. The Hilton at Sea World is a bit older. Both are high quality.

I love DVC. But at some point I will probably buy Hilton. Disney trades with II and Hilton trades with RCI...and I would like opportunities in both exchange programs. Also, I think Hilton will give me more opportunities with resorts in Hawaii. :teeth:

One suggestion. If you buy into Hilton and booking windows are not a big deal, buy the Hilton on the Las Vegas Strip. The building is new, and the taxes and fee's are much less than for any of the Orlando properties. You never have to go there, but it is a way to save money. To be frank at this point I would buy Hilton in Vegas, but when I go to Vegas I would stay on a hotel deal with one of the casino resorts. :smooth:
