Hilton Anaheim

We like the Hilton and have never had a bad stay there. Customer service has been very good, including upgrades to lovely rooms. We like the Starbucks and the food court. We prefer to walk to/from the parks. In the mornings, it is nice to have the option of walking by the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf as an alternative to Starbucks. Also, when there is a large convention going on, there can be gourmet food trucks in front of the hotel and the ACC.

We like the Hilton. Rooms are nice, clean and very comfortable. I haven't had a shabby one. We enjoy staying here when we stay offsite.

We just stayed there Friday night. Friday we got there about 7 and walked to the Disney hotel entrance to DTD for dinner and back. Saturday morning we left at 6:00 to get in line for a ROTR BG and walked to the Harbor entrance then back after our day at the parks. I'm pretty overweight, but a decent walker. I was definitely tired after all day at the parks but made it back just fine walking.

I usually love the Hilton beds and sleep great but this time it felt really hard and the pillows were flat as pancakes. Didn't sleep well at all. It was very disappointing.

Stayed there twice, (staying a third time at the end of the mon the walk is fine even with a stroller. We usually walk from the Mickey and friends lot when we go, so we are used to a long walk to get it. The added benefit of a nice long round trip walk is less guilt with the food you eat.

As for the hotel, I would say it’s like your typical Hilton hotel by an airport. Clean, rooms have a good amount of space, and professional service. You aren’t going to spend much time in the room anyways.

I've stayed at the Hilton many times through the years. As mentioned, it's a large property, and the walk from the parking garage to your room can be a hike (it depends on the location of your room and parking spot). The property received a complete refurbishment about a decade ago (which helped "shrink" it, as it made some areas inaccessible to guests), and "feels" like a typical, upscale, modern Hilton property. Book a room that includes breakfast -- the buffet is huge and really good. As this is a business hotel that caters toward expense accounts, its regular price (as with all its restaurant pricing) is up there, so you'll definitely save money. For more economical options, the hotel has a food court, with ever changing options. Note that during periods of low occupancy, the buffet and food court may not be offered.

The pool is heated and the pool deck is huge. Note that rooms facing the pool can be noisy. There were rooms that faced the Disneyland Resort, some with views of the nightly fireworks, but I assume that expansion of the convention center blocked this (if it didn't, inquire about them upon check-in; note that they may request a small fee). There's a small fitness center with average equipment as well.

Once Upon A Time you could walk out the back entrance of the hotel, walk across the street, take the tram to the front gate and arrive in just five minutes after you left... but expansion of the California Adventure ended this :(. The walk to the main-gate isn't that bad, though. I'd advise against taking the Toy Story Shuttle - it doesn't save time, and you're not suppose to be riding it anyway. The hotel use to have a free shuttle to Disney, switched to ART, but no longer pays for it. So if you're willing to pay, it's an option as well.

Another Hilton property, The DoubleTree Orange, is a better choice IMO. Similar property, nicer pool, and generally cheaper (not only the room rate, but parking and tax rate). The Ayres across the street is my favorite property in the area -- free parking, free hot breakfast and free social hour.

Is the Ayres the same walk?

Is the Ayres the same walk?

Opps, I need to clarify: the Ayres Orange is across the street from the Doubletree Orange (not the Hilton). While you could walk from the Ayres to Disneyland's main entrance, it's too far for most people (about 2.5 miles up Manchester, 45-60 minute walk). The Doubletree has its own shuttle to Disneyland (free to guests) while the Ayres uses ART (they used to provide complimentary passes... if you ask politely, maybe they'll give you some, otherwise you could walk across to the Doubletree and mingle in).

The Ayres Orange is, by far, my favorite hotel in the area. It's also one of the newest. When you factor in the free hot breakfast, free parking, free social hour (Sun.-Thurs. only) and reduced tax rate (10% of the room rate, as opposed to 17% in Anaheim), it's usually one of the best values in the area.

thanks they have a great government rate. Yes the tax is crazy in Anaheim But they no longer offer free parking its $10 still cheaper then other hotels for parking

I think you're confusing the nearby Ayres Anaheim (across from the stadium) with the Ayres Orange (which is closer to Disneyland). The latter still offers free parking, including free electric vehicle charging.

We have stayed many times and really enjoyed it. The walk is a bit long but we always walked it with strollers in tow.

We always got it on a Hotwire deal going in blind for a great price rate. I think it is nicer now as all the rooms are remodeled. When we stayed it was ongoing and we always got the old outdated rooms. But still nice and clean.

Love the rooftop pool for mid day breaks.

This has been one my go to hotels now in the area. Toy story shuttle is just across the street , walk is easy as well. I've been getting rates of $65 -$75/night on Hotiwre hot deals, if going browse enough you can tell what you're getting.

Staying here again March 1st -4th :)

Oh Wait is it’s orange not Anaheim? Have you stayed at both? thanks

I've stayed at both, but I much prefer the Ayres Orange. I liked the Ayres Orange so much that when we had some work done to our house, we stayed there for several months. I was disappointed we had to leave :). Great fireworks view from the room, and Disneyland is only a 45-50 minute walk (granted, it's not the most scenic walk, largely along the 5 and going past several walled off mobile home parks before passing a string of hotels ... but there's sidewalks and it's pleasant.)

How is the Starbucks line? We are hoping to grab a coffee each morning but have heard it can be atrocious.

If there is anything happening at the convention center is it awful and no mobile ordering available. They do have a bypass line for Hilton Golds and higher, just need to flash your card or app.

If no conferences or other major event it is typical Starbucks otherwise.

So our first time to Disneyland we stayed at the Hilton Convention Center hotel and the rooms were so dirty and gross ( I used to work at a hotel for almost 10 years, so I'm a little more in tune with what to look for as far as how they're cleaning rooms.) Even still, there was a used band-aid in our peep hole, we asked to move rooms and management freaked out and bum rushed out out of our first room. In the second room.. there were still mystery stains, the AC vent was caked in dust and I kept my shoes or socks on the entire time and my socks were getting black at the bottom, the lobby was pretty nice but once you got to the rooms you could tell it needed updating. The hotel is huge too, I feel like I got lost every time I left the room and we've stayed in giant Vegas hotels where I felt like it took less time to get to the lobby.. I would NOT stay there again.

The only good thing was that we could walk about 8 minutes and be at the Toy Story bus stops and take the bus in to the parks and the view of Anaheim Angels stadiums and the mountains were nice... but that is about it. What we learned is that if you're going to Anaheim just find the most newly built hotel close to Disneyland because it should be the cleanest least beat up.
