Perhaps someone with a GOT HOPE? sticker in their signature is posting in the wrong thread.

I have always felt and spoken highly of Hilary and her campaign despite giving my support to Obama.

A quick search shows that you never supported either democratic candidate.

Wow! I was tearing up over Hillary's speech last night. More than ever that speech proved that she was ready to lead the country. I was a little saddened by it all at the end with her not being the nominee.

I felt she did her job in uniting the party as much as she could. Those who aren't going to budge won't do it because of that speech. They have already made up their minds. It's Barack's job to unite the party from here.

Hillary is a wonderful leader who will continue to do great things for this country!

I recorded Hillary's speech so I could watch it.

What an amazing political intelligent lady! :thumbsup2
I will admit watching her speak made me think how wrong America got it. She would have made an excellent president and is just what this Country needs to get back on track. (I have no faith in Obama or McCain will be able to get this Country back on track)

Too many people put their hatred for the Clintons first. For what ever reason people hate Hillary, some think she is horrible for staying with Bill, some think she is a bad mother, some think she rides on Bill's coat tails --- I think Hillary showed them all what a strong and independent woman she is.

I have no daughters but if I ever have a granddaughter some day I would hope she would look up to Hillary as a role model.

No matter what happens to Hillary's political career ANY woman in the future that becomes President or even VP can Thank Hillary for paving the way! Hillary definitely paved the road for one day a woman will lead this Country, even if it isn't Hillary.

Did Hillary's words change my views on Obama?
No matter how much I admire and respect Hillary Clinton, no, I still can not throw my support behind Obama. Why is it Hillary's job to bring the party together anyway? That should be Obama's job and Obama's job only! Personally he has not done a single thing to try to win over my vote.

You know MAYBE --- just maybe --- especially after seeing Hillary speak tonight, IF Obama would of put her on the ticket, MAYBE I would have voted for him. HE Blew his chance by not even asking her to be on his ticket. I felt that was a kick to Hillary and her supporters's gut!
I think by NOT putting Hillary on the ticket, Obama lost the election and he has NO ONE to blame but HIMSELF and his ego come November!

Speaking of egos, Michelle has a big ego too doesn't she? Every time the TV paned over to her she would sit there all bitter and angry looking (shouldn't she be happy :confused3 ). The only time I saw even a tiny smile was when Hillary mentioned Obama's name.

I am very proud of Hillary, She held her head high dispite that people kept trying to keep her in the kitchen. I am PROUD to be one of the 18 million people that supported her :thumbsup2
She is one great lady. She did what she had to do, now hopefully the media and Obama supporters will leave her alone ---- some how I really doubt it though

LOL. I can assure you I would have voted for Hillary. BTW, If you think so highly of Hillary, you may want to learn to spell her name correctly.

You know, every time I read a post about the ‘bitter’ HS not voting for Obama ‘out of spite’ I just shake my head. When I see them make comments that some of us are refusing to vote for Obama because “our candidate didn’t win the election” I just shake my head. In their ignorance, they just don’t get it.

I’ve yet to meet or read about a single HS who’s not voting for Obama because ‘Hillary didn’t win the nomination’… The people that I have met and have read about that are Hillary supporters who aren’t voting for Obama are refusing do to so because of the blatant corruptness they witnessed in this primary:

-Caucus fraud
-DNC behind close doors for four hours before illegally awarding Obama with some of Hillary’s delegates
-Only punishing the two of the four states for moving the primary up – and those two happened to favor Hillary
-The past few weeks of Obama illegally replacing Hillary delegates with his own
-Severe media bias

The list goes on. Then there’s the corruption about Obama himself surfacing:

-Obama’s lack of accomplishments in his district as Illinois Senator – a two year old is now dead because of Obama’s ‘buddies’ (Rezko isn’t the only Rezko out there) pocketing money and leaving the poor in dilapidated, roach infested buildings without proper plumbing. When confronted with the issue, Obama had to finally admit that “maybe some complaints came into his office – but he wasn’t certain”

(About the two year old – an unstable wall that needed repairs eons ago fell and crushed him as he was riding his tricycle as he mother watched)

-Almost anything that Obama boasts about now as an accomplishment – research it. You’ll find it to be full of corruption.

Let’s see.. the three brothers from Georgia (Palestine) donating over 30 grand to his campaign (they claim they haven’t been refunded. Obama’s campaign claims they have. It’s really hard to figure out which of the two is lying.. but I have an idea…)

-Oh, he takes tons of lobbyist money – he just back doors it in and then gives McCain crap for McCain’s lobbyist ties.

Oh, the Conservs pulled a great article today that’s worth a read:
http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/can-obama-survive-the-annenberg-cover-up/2/

-He took $110 million of charity funds that were to go to help improve public education and instead gave it to William Ayers (you know, the man that he’s “not” friends with) and another guy.

This list can go on.. but I’ll stop here for now.

But those are valid reasons to not want this man in Washington and it has nothing to do with being a sore loser over our chosen candidates loss. When the OS realize that the primary was corrupted, that the DNC favored Obama and ensured he got his place, when they acknowledge that Obama is the one who pulled the race card and slandered the Clintons and at the same time would make comments about Hillary such as ‘well certain times of the month….’ and when they finally stop blaming Hillary for tons of crap she hasn’t done –she’s unfairly being the scapegoat for everything - then, and only then will true healing of the Democratic Party begin.

When the Republicans who hate, hate, hate the Clintons begin speaking up and saying that she was served an extremely low blow by her party – that’s saying something.

So, if Obama fairly has won this primary than George W Bush fairly won the Presidential election of 2000.

But I’m not making my first political post of the day to talk about that. Today I’m here to talk about how gracious Hillary has been though out all of this. When if finally looked like there wasn’t going to be anything fair about this election she admitted defeat, suspended her campaign and graciously threw her support behind Obama for the sake of the party. She asked her supporters to support Obama. She, along with him, threw a fundraiser with her backers to get them to financially support him. She stepped out of the spotlight and allowed him to take center stage while she quietly went back to work at the Senate. She’s been out campaigning for Obama.

Not.Once.Has Hillary whined about stepping down. I can’t say she’s lost until this convention is over since neither she nor Obama got enough delegates from the primaries to be declared the winner. But she’s held her head high and threw her support behind the jerk of her opponent and never said a word. She finally spoke of the sexism that she did have to endure at the end of her race and it was more matter of factly that she spoke about it – she never once whined about it. Obama gave an entire speech about the racism he felt he was enduring during the primaries but I only heard Hillary mention sexism once and she’s still getting reamed for it. And there was sexism – out of Obama’s mouth – out of the meida’s mouth – out of the guy’s mouth that showed up to one of her speeches with a sign that read “Iron My Shirt” while he continuously chanted it over and over… but the media forgot to cover “little” things like that. But I’m certain that had someone shown up to one of Obama’s rallies with a sign that read “Shine My Shoes” it’d be front page news for a week.

So, for those still with me (DISUNC, Moon.. you guys better still be here  ) This is what has royally pissed me off today and got me started.

And this false piece of crap is one reason the Democratic Party will never heal itself – at least not for a long while. It's just pissing the HS off at Obama and the OS even more.

I was beginning to think that I had imagined the sour look on Michelle's face. I am glad someone else noticed too.

I have been thinking about all the charges of "bitter" and "spiteful". And I realized that Obama, his campaign, the DNC, the OS still are not listening. I am not bitter - I am angry.

This primary/election cycle has ripped the cover off the DNC and exposed them as being every bit as corrupt and dirty dealing as the RNC. It is the fact that they are so willing to sweep legitimate concerns of sexism, misogyny, blatant media bias and abuse of power by the DNC under the rug and not even address them that leads me here. Not just that my candidate of choice didn't win. Heck - I was a Dean delegate in '04!

It is Obama's job to unite this party - not Hillary's! I have not heard or seen one thing that even begins to acknowledge why so many HS are not behind him. Not one! I guess it is just easier to say we are bitter than to attempt to understand and rectify the issues we have. And then not having Hillary, at the very least, on his VP short list was a final punch in the nose.

For president, I will be voting Green as I have said before. As for down ticket - I will vote for anyone without a D or R by their name.

I am not a democrat but all I have to say about Hillary's speech is WOW!! She is one fantastic orator. I am going to watch her politics closely in the future as some of the elements of her speech were very compelling. The one negative about the entire speech was the nuances on Michelle O's face during the speech. I have read reports that there is no love loss between the 2 woman and it was evident on MO face when the camera panned her way. Here Hillary is lending her support and trying to inspire her following to go O's way and MO can barely look happy about Hillary speaking and all she seemed to muster was smug half smiles. I also wonder how many of Hillary's supporters are all that inspired to go Obama's way. Many in the audience cheered Hillary, but appeared lukewarm when asked to unite for BO. The only time I saw MO get vaguely excited was when Hillary talked about Biden. I imagine this was a very difficult speech for H to give. I can't wait to hear Bill tonight.
None of my comments are meant to be disrespectful of the convention or the candidate, just my observations. Again, I think the speech is going to go down as one of the WOW speeches in political history.

Nope you're not alone. Michelle Obama was wearing a powerful "B" face the entire speech, until the point where Hillary complimented her. Someone needs to teach her that the cameras are on you all the time in those situations. She is a beautiful woman and she does have a beautiful smile. But it's not her natural expression.

Last nights speech made me both proud and heartbroken. I think Hillary was amazing and showed more class and dignity then I've ever seen in Obama. She was inspirational, presidential and moving. That woman should be our candidate.

As much as I adore Hillary, I can't get on board with Obama, not even for her. Just having similar beliefs isn't enough for me. I have to have a candidate I feel is competent, has integrity, a policy wonk, and a concrete plan to accomplish things. I don't get any of that from Obama.

I know the HS were going to saythat about Michelle. Look at all the footage. About 80% of the peopel in the crowd had that same face. That is what she looks like when she has her mouth closed. She didn't look angry to me. I saw her nod her head in agreement several times.

Agreed. Their platforms had minuscule differences. However, their characters are as night and day. She is capable, honest, knowledgeable, and hard working. He can sure give a good speech. :confused3

::yes:: I won't back Obama regardless but it is his job to pull this party together now - not Hillary’s. She's publically backed him and she's asked her supporters to back him. All Obama has done was tell the HS to get over it. Donna Brazil said that they didn't need any of the HS - they're forming a new Democratic Party and then everything has fallen on Hillary's shoulders to take care of.

Uhhh.. no. If Obama wants HS votes - he better get out there and start courting them.

Not that I really want him to do that as I don't want him to win the election in November... but with his ego size, I may not have to worry about him attempting to do that anyways.

I do agree that it's now Obama's job to unite the party. Hillary has done all she can and all that she can reasonably be expected to do and now I'd like to see Obama reach out to the HS. I hope that he does and that he does it soon.

As for Michelle Obama's expression, I think that she just looks naturally angry. I've seen that expression a lot and maybe she just needs to learn how to look pleasant on a regular basis now that the cameras are on her so much? I don't doubt that she dislikes Hillary but I doubt that she was consciously trying to show that to the world last night.

Not to back up Michelle Obama (I can't stand the woman) but there have been myriad studies done showing that serious women appear to onlookers as upset or angry. While serious men appear...serious. It may be all a matter of our perception. Frankly, I can't see Michelle being upset over anything in in content of Hillary's speech. I thought it was everything the Obama camp could have possibly hoped for and more.

It absolutely is his job to win over voters he hasn't won over yet. Hillary will continue to do what she can, like a lot of other prominent Democrats across the country.

I wouldn't know if Michelle dislikes Hillary or not, but I have long thought that her natural facial expression is a lot like Condoleeza Rice's. They both look perpetually pissed off. :confused3

I second that sentiment.

Don't you have another thread you can bother people on, LuvDuke?

Agreed. Their platforms had minuscule differences. However, their characters are as night and day. She is capable, honest, knowledgeable, and hard working. He can sure give a good speech. :confused3

Let us remember that the main reason that their platforms are similar is because he basically copied her platform like he copied most of her answers in the debates. He's already publically proven to flip-flop on many issues because of this. This is one of the main reasons many people are jumping on board: they honestly don't know where he stands.

But she can’t have any fun being sarcastically “witty” on those threads. I’d put her on ignore but she gives me a good laugh. :lmao:
