Does the Island Tower have their own bell service or should I go to the Great Ceremonial House from the airport if my room is not ready yet?

Yes the Island tower has BS CMs with some luggage storage but coming from the Airport there is no direct access to the small entrance at the parking lot side of the building. This gate is not manned, and you would need an active MB or RF ID card to get in. There is a push button to talk to Security but we did not have good luck getting them to allow us through the gate 100% of the time.

Yeah that’s an important detail! I never had issues buzzing in so it slipped my mind. If you complete online check-in, your MB or MagicMobile Entry will work at the gate even if your room is not ready yet.

An expensive alternative is use a Minnie Van from airport, they get through with no problem cause they have their own key access.

Thanks for all the replies! I did online check and am bringing some older MagicBand so I am worried about them working at the tower entrance. Thinking I’ll just go straight to the GCH from the airport and make a stop for nachos along the way

We stayed at Coronado springs last moth and had a issue using magic bands at the gate with mobile check in. We had a split stay and DH went to retrieve the car from the previous resort while I went straight to Coronado. His magic band did not work at the gate event though we had done online checkin and had a room number. The guard told him only the lead guest's magic band will work at the gate without first using it to unlock the room door. Once they have been used to unlock the room door, all others will work.

Ask at the front desk at the GCH. They also have a Clue sheet for the Hidden Mickey's around the resort if you want to go on the hunt.

“There is some work going on over at the Tower to relocate the lagoon side doors. This is to help reduce the airflow that occurs when south and north doors are open on the ground floor at the entrance.”

Work continues around the outside of Captain Cook's. The scaffolding stops at Tiki Terrace that opens later now during the construction. This is expected to be completed around the end of June or beginning of July. - Posted on Tikiman’s FB
