Hillary Supporters unite part 2; no bashing please

This is even what Obama's campaign leader said about what she had spoke. He couldn't really comment, because they didn't believe it had anything to do with Obama and everything to do with the Kennedy's.

This is not true. The Obama camp has offered the following response to Sen. Clinton's comments:

"Senator Clinton's statement before the Argus Leader editorial board was unfortunate and has no place in this campaign," said Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton.

Remember, the Obama camp does not like to or need to be in silly season with the Clinton camp. They took the high road.

watch Kieth Olbermann he makes so much sense. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/05/23/clinton-kennedy-assassina_n_103319.htm

I can't remember off the top of my head but last night on Countdown with Kieth Olbermann he mentioned at least 5 other races that run through June. Why not mention those races? All those high paid advisors and they can't research that. Why mention the death of RFK? If she stated that in those years the race was going on you'd have a point. She mentioned the death of Bobby. This was her reasons for staying in the race. Olbermann also mentioned that this is her 4th time stating this comment without the word assassination in it. That word is the problem.

It's your problem, not mine.

And if you go back and read my post you will see as I HEARD more and more about Obama (and his wife) and WATCHED more and more of his speeches I started to dislike him more and more.

Telling me I don't like Obama because I am racist will NOT make me like him anymore. I decided I didn't like him a few months ago, but the OS are making me despise him! Nice way to get people to vote for your candidate.
I am tired of defending myself that I am not a racist. You guys believe what you want....I KNOW WHAT I AM and THAT is all the matters to me

I understand you may see intelligence when he speaks, but I see nothing but a man with a very big ego and talks a lot of fluff. Kind of like our current President ;)

I will say this about Obama, the man is smart. He knows just what to say to get people to like and vote for him, sounds like any other politician. Just some people don't fall of it.

By the way if we Hillary supporters don't matter why do you Obama supporters keep coming over here? Do you just like to stir up trouble? I don't even lurk on your Obama thread because Obama does NOT interest me. If I see a thread, any thread on this board that doesn't interest me, I don't open it. If you don't like Hillary why would you even want to read and post on a thread about her with people that SUPPORT and ADMIRE her????? :confused3

How is accusing Hillary supporters of being racist any different than accusing Obama supporters of being misogynist? That seems to be perfectly acceptable on this thread, right? Personally, I think both generalizations are nonsense. Oh, there are specific groups that won't support Obama because he's black and groups that won't support Hillary because she's female. But the vast majority of people supporting one candidate over the other are doing so for reasons that have nothing to do with race or gender. It's a bit disingenuous to condemn one generalization while participating in a thread that regularly engages in the other, don't you think?

Secondly, in one paragraph you say Obama isn't intelligent, and in the next you say he is. :confused3 'Course, in the second paragraph you obliquely accuse his supporters of being easily duped, so maybe that makes up for it.

Lastly, the reasons so many of us post over here are this: probably 70% of the posts on this thread don't deal with Hillary, but with the person we support. We're usually posting to either correct misinformation or put forward our own opinion about something. We also post here to defend ourselves, as there doesn't seem to be any objection here to classifying all Obama supporters as the same, despite the obvious untruth of that statement. And lastly, we post here because, in the end, we are all Democrats that believe in many of the same things. Despite our differences, the things that should unite us as a party are legion compared to the things that are dividing us.

And about that last point. I would like to point out that despite being called a troll, a misogynist, and stupid, I have not attacked a single person on this thread. Yes, I've disagreed with some point or another that has been posted. But nowhere have I posted the kind of vitriol that has been thrown at me here. If you don't believe that, go back and read my posts. Not a single one attacks a group of people or an individual on a personal level. I have disagreed, and for that I'm being vilified while posters with a history of attacking other liberals are patted on the back for jumping in on the fun.

This nomination process is almost over, and like me or not, we're going to be on the same side of most political disagreements that don't center upon our respective choices for the nomination. Right to choose...education...the war in Iraq...health care........the vast majority of you hold the same beliefs on those issues that I do. All I ask is that you think about that before jumping on the bandwagon with a few conservative posters in attacking me personally.

Why should she? She referenced Bobby Kennedy, not Obama. Why should she apologize to Obama if it had nothing to do with him? His supporters and media are ONLY make it about him. Apologizing as you guys want, would only say she did mean it that way AND SHE DIDN'T. So the media and OS need to lay off!

She owes Obama an apology because she's not running against a Kennedy she's running against an Obama. Since it was Hiliary comparing this election with to that of '68 and why she shouldn't drop out, only one other person (maybe two) are affected. Obama and McCain. Who else could she possibly be speaking of.

This is also the reason behind those HS who won't vote for Barack. What's so different? The candidate?

I know what the difference is; Hillary and Bill are white, people can dislike them for just what they say.
Barack, although he IS half white, is "different". It's not OK to dislike a man who just happens to be half black because of the things he and the people he hangs out with say.

You must be racist if you think that way. It can't simply be because you don't believe the man on what he says or his knowledge to run the Country.

You know I can understand and accept why some people don't like Hillary. She is not perfect, I KNOW that. I have never, never once claimed that Hillary was perfect.

I just don't understand why some Obama supporters can't see why not every one thinks Obama is perfect and they just don't like what comes out of his mouth!

Really why is that SO hard to understand without throwing the race card into play????? :confused3

Thank you!
One day at a time.
Yeah, I may get a little ruffled up here on these threads, but in the end I don't let anyone say really bother me.
Life is way too short and I have more important issues to deal with at home then what others think of me on here.

When I turn off the computer I let all the debates and such go away too.
Spending time with my dad and family is the most important thing right now.

 Hugs to you during a difficult time. This race debating has been difficult, but I'm glad you can turn it off and focus on what really matters when the computer is off. You need to focus on family and yourself. Take care of you during this difficult time. You and your dad are in my prayers.

They still didn't make it about Obama. His supporters are doing that for him. What a great group of People...

.

Uh nope, I said Obama is SMART in knowing just what to say. That is different then being intelligent

BTW, I am not saying Obama is stupid. I know he isn't. Just like Hillary and McCain are not stupid.

I just don't feel Obama is intelligent enough to run this Country!

Slightly OT, why is everything about Obama? I had this question last week when Bush had his whole appeasement thing going on. Obama's people were all over it as a direct jab at their candidate. OK, I didn't see it. Then this week it comes out that Israel had been negotiating with Syria and US knew about it. Maybe, just maybe it was a direct dig at Israel's Knesset and their appeasement (after all that's who Bush was addressing) and had absolutely nothing to do with Obama.

Why would some want to vote for a candidate they don't believe will get anywhere with those issues? I don't think a lot of the HS would want to be on the same debate team as you after all the bickering on both sides. Even if we were on the same side after all is said and done. As Hillary supporters we probably will say negative things about Obama and McCain when the General election comes around and I don't think your eyes could stand it. So you'll still be debating us; which might be a good thing, since it seems you like to fight and argue about every little thing. Ding Ding, round 3.

It's been a long hard road, he has ALS.
It is starting to affect his breathing so we have no idea how much time he has left, but he probably won't make it through the year. But we just enjoy the time we have.

Btw-- it's funny he knows I am a huge Hillary supporter. He lets me go on and on about her. He can't stand her OR Obama! LOL Nope, he doesn't like McCain either. He thinks all the choices are horrible this year! :) He keeps saying we need a new batch of candidates because this batch is no good! Gotta love him though ;)

I am sorry he has ALS. My best friend's FIL died from it 2 years ago. Enjoy him while you can. I guess that's all we can ever do with our loved ones.

I read here and the threads bashing Obama because I'm interested in the topics. That doesn't mean I have to agree with everything that is posted. I also enjoy learning from my fellow DISers.

Last week I learned that the black people voting for Obama are either inner city poor or elitist.:lmao: I was hoping that person would come back and let me know which group I fall into.

I grew up and still live in what is considered an inner city section of Brooklyn. I'm a college graduate. My income places me squarely in the middle class. The last time I checked, that didn’t add up to poor or elite.

Maybe if I keep reading these threads someone will enlighten me.:surfweb:

Thanks, it's a tough, tough disease

ALS is so brutal, just seeing reports on t.v. The pain associated with it is very hard. Your dad sounds like he's been in a battle for awhile. Did you see the piece with Anne Curry on her dad with cancer? Very touching and her dad seemed like a lovely person. His last words were "I can feel the winds are changing", "time to turn this ship around". He fell asleep and never woke up. I cried during that part really hard. He sounds like he was a wonderful man and I'm sure your dad is too.
At least he listens to your political views. My dad is a die hard Republican and he doesn't like me being an independent. He doesn't like me to talk about Hillary or Obama. Sometimes he just says blah blah blah. I tell him, nice maturity dad. He has to laugh. I try not to talk politics with my dad, it drives him crazy.

Oh I can tell you even though I wasn't the original poster for that topic. You've been to Disney (picture of your son), so you are definately an Elitist, college educated OS. Did I get it right? I know all. :wizard:

Ok, I understand that. I do read some Obama threads to maybe be enlighten but I don't read the Obama SUPPORT thread because I don't support him. I guess I can understand lurking if you want to know how the other side thinks. But seriously I know by going on the Obama thread I will read things I TOTALLY disagree with and read bashing about Hillary. Why would I want to read that type of things?

Same with here, this is a Hillary SUPPORT thread. Anyone should not be surprise to hear and read things that you might not like, why we don't like Obama, how we feel about him. It's everyone right to like OR not like a candidate. In a Hillary support thread I would expect I can air my feelings without being bashed about it or saying I am wrong to feel that way.

I would never go on an Obama support thread and tell you are you wrong for thinking the way you think. I respect your thread by not going on it and telling you that you are wrong. You don't like Hillary for your reasons, fine. You have your reasons not to like her, I will leave it at that.

Just like I have my reasons for not liking Obama!

I can relate to you wondering where you fit in inner city black people or elitist. I have been wondering where I fall into, uneducated white folk or older woman? ;)
