You started it by coming in here insulting me after I told my story and you know it and dont try to turn this around on me as you always do..I have no problem with any of the OS till posters like you come in here all high and mighty just to be TROLLS for the day....keep your sarcasm in your own hole...

Really? If experience were all that mattered, the I guess JFK should never have been elected, right? Or Teddy Roosevelt? How about Bill Clinton...what exactly was his experience on the national scene before he was elected? Oh, and I guess you were going to vote for McCain in the general, since he has more experience in Washington than either of the two Dems. Right?
:

Are you kidding me???? Do some research

JFK War Hero & US Senator for 7 YEARS, State Rep for 6 years

Teddy Roosvelt was Governor of NY, Secretary of the Navy..The Rough Riders.
BTW. He was the first U.S. president to call for universal health care and national health insurance(and he was rebuplican)

Also he wasnt Elected President at first, he was VP when McKinley was assasinated.

Bill Clinton was Governor for 12 years!!!

Barak cant hold a candle to their experience! Jeez! What did he do...write 2 books telling everybody how wonderful he is?

It's a "pipe dream", yet Rasmussen also shows polls with Obama leading in Colorado and Iowa, and trailing within the margin of error in Virginia and a couple other places where Hillary is losing. So if it's a "pipe dream" because it's based on polling, how can you then quote the same polling? :rotfl2:
And we all "KNOW" that if a candidate in a GE takes Colorado & Iowa they win the election!!!!:rolleyes1

...now back too reality!

Interesting discussion point. Did Obama completely invent himself in those two books? Do we really know anything about him other than his own description of himself? His votes in the Senate certainly do not tell us anything.

Yeah, Bill sure had to worry about Nebraska invading when he was governor of Arkansas. He had a state budget of...what... a buck fifty to worry about? Why is being a governor somehow the be all and end all of "experience"? :confused3

As for the rest...yes, JFK had been a senator a couple years longer than Obama. So? McCain has been one far longer than Hillary, but that doesn't seem to matter to you. Oh...and he was also a "war hero", so why aren't you on the "McCain Supporters" thread? It couldn't be about the issues could it?

And we all "KNOW" that if a candidate in a GE takes Colorado & Iowa they win the election!!!!:rolleyes1

Here's a little reality for ya'...if Gore had won Colorado, he'd have won the white house. So yeah...it kinda does matter. :lmao:

ETA: And he'd have done it without Florida or Ohio!

Why don't they tell you anything? He's voted nearly identically with Hillary during his time in Washington. That would seem to indicate to me that his views are quite similar to hers. :confused3

You know, I don't think you're looking at the big picture. It's not all about issues. Nor is it all about experience. It's about both. I think both are important. We don't need a president without experience who has a great take on the issues. Neither do we need a president who has tons of experience who hasn't a clue about important issues. It's a balance between the two.

I see Obama as having a pretty good take on issues (not quite as good as Hillary, but pretty close), but not enough practical experience. In a time of war, I see experience as very important. I don't want to argue the point. I'm not saying it's a fact. I'm saying it's the way I personally see things. No one can tell me how I should feel.

Many OS don't see it the way I do, and that's fine. That's why you voted for him and I voted for Hillary. Please don't try to convince me I'm wrong. As my DS pointed out the other day, November is several months away and we've both already voted in the primary. It doesn't matter much if Democrats in our situation disagree at this point. There'll be plenty of time to figure it out after the convention.

Lincoln had little political experience. I believe one term in the U.S. House (that's two years), and a term in the Illinois house.

Anyway,

:dance3:

Well, yes experience matters a great deal to me. So does character. I find Obama lacking in both. Maybe as the general election progresses, I'll see things differently. But I'm not feeling it now.

As far as the others, JFK was before I was born, same with Roosevelt.

Clinton, I like. I did not vote for him. I'm almost too imbarrassed to say I voted for Perot! I'm glad Clinton came through and won.

Got news for you...GORE did win 2000!!!! But then it was the GOP disenfrancising voters, now its the DNC.

And that's all well and good, but why are you here trying to convince US that YOUR canidate is the best choice?

I'm going to guess that most of here are fully capable of doing a search and finding the information out there but for reasons that are personal for US we have decided that Obama is NOTthe one for US. This is a Hillary thread, we don't need you all here telling us how we are wrong or trying to educate us to change our minds. When or if we change our minds we'll let you know.

Not true...Lincoln had MUCH political experience...including one of the founders of the Rebuplican Party!

And all you Obama supporters believe he is about change? Hello!!! Sounds like he is making a bunch of empty promises to me.

Got news for you...GORE did win 2000!!!! But then it was the GOP disenfrancising voters, now its the DNC.

Yes, because it was the GOP that wrote the constitution and put in that pesky part about the electoral college.

Are the Libertarians disenfranchising you? They're holding their nominating convention this week. Did they ask you who they should nominate? Why aren't you screaming to the high heavens about that? You don't have a "franchise" in a party unless the party decides you do. This isn't the general election, and nobody is being disenfranchised.

Sorry...but with the results that came in, Gore did not win in 2000. Yes, he won the popular vote, and you can certainly make an argument that the election was stolen in Florida. I won't argue that. But the election is not about popular votes. Period. It never has been, and it probably never will be.

Hmmmsniff sniff I smell a troll that has a high posting number...sniff sniff and it is a stinky one at that.....Dont feed the TROLL and it will go away :rotfl2:

I never said who I was supporting. I was simply making a statement about Lincoln.

Rebuplican. Good argument.

And I can respect that, even while I disagree. :teeth: Doesn't make me want to stop trying to convince you, though. Reasonable people should be able to discuss these things without resorting to personal insults.

And all you Obama supporters believe he is about change? Hello!!! Sounds like he is making a bunch of empty promises to me.

Why? Because he and Hillary believe in many of the same issues (he's a little stronger on ethics, she's a little stronger on health care, but the differences are fairly minor) but approach them in different ways? :confused3

You should really check the DIS Terms of Service. I'm fairly sure personal insults are against the rules.

Well then, I guess Obama is just like Hillary.

I still believe she is the better canidate.
