Hillary Supporters unite part 2; no bashing please

I've heard this too. One of my clients who is really involved in politics quoted me a number of 151 supers are all that need to flip for this "nomination" to be up in the air. I don't really know where that # comes from. I've been trying to find the info. There is a pretty decent number of SD's that are undeclared. About 100. The assumption of course being that they haven't declared because they are Hillary supporters. So I'm hanging on to that thin thread of hope. The last three weeks have not been kind to Obama and a lot can happen in the 5 weeks till the convention. :scared:
I think at the end of the day, the total difference was Obama ahead 125 give or take a couple as a result of the primaries/caucuses. Actually she was ahead in the states with primaries and he was ahead in the states with caucues.

Don't know how the supers break down at the moment, but any of them can switch at any time.

Hi All!!! :wave2:

Firs of all, welcome back DISUNC and GotDisney! looks like you had a great time :woohoo:

DISUNC, please, pleaseee finish your trip report or start a new one (though I'm curious to find out what happened in your day at the park with your friend, his boys and James.....) It would be such a distraction for these somber days, and a way to vicariously live a WDW vacation for those of us who are staying home :guilty:

I haven't really been on any political threads lately. Both candidates right now are just not up to par. Obama seems to throw himself down notches and I wasn't going to vote for McCain either way. The news is mostly painful to watch when it comes to politics. Will probably still tow the democratic line, but it'll be hard this year to do that.

Anywho, just busy taking my mom to the Dr's office and she was told hospice is in her near future. It's hard to drive with mom in the back seat crying. I wanted to pull over and console her, but she told me to keep driving because she was sick of sitting up. I finally was able to talk her down from it and get a real conversation going. I can understand why she broke down like that. At the Dr's, even my mouth dropped open from shock of hearing it.

DISUNC-Sounds like you had a wonderful time in WDW and US! What a vacation. 2 weeks, I'm jealous! I hope next time, we'll be able to go longer than 6 nights. The kids ask me at least every other day when we'll go back.

I was given points for being rude last night, so I may have to stay off the Community board, just to have those points expire in 15 days. Going to have to watch my p's and q's. I don't know how I'm going to do that, they seem to run around like crazy lately.

Oh well, talk later about all the great politics going on...yeah, right.

Sorry about your mom, kinntj

Hey guys… there is a little chatter going on that some of the SD’s are seriously considering switching back to Hillary and vote for her at the convention should the DNC hold a fair convention and put her name on the ballot and role call like their supposed to. (But, hey, when does the DNC ever follow the rules??)

This is one of the primary reasons that the Obama campaign and the DNC (Brazile, Dean) don’t want Hillary’s name on the ballot: remember, the only reason that Obama is the current Dem nod is because enough SD’s have publically stated that they’ll vote for him at the convention. But that vote has not yet been cast. As of today, neither Hillary nor Obama have enough regular delegates to clinch that nomination. There is no true nominee at this point, despite how much Obama likes to pretend otherwise. Should the SD’s vote for Hillary at the convention she could very well end up being the Democratic nominee.

I don’t know if enough SD’s are on the fence right now to make a difference … but if Obama continues on with his current destructive path, maybe there could be an upset at the convention next month.

Dolce that would be so amazing! I can't believe it would happen, but stranger things have happened. Still I don't trust the DNC. They were obviously for Obama from day one, and I don't hold illusions anymore of the DNC leadership being more honest that the RNC. They will do what it takes to keep her away.
Too many in the party can't wait to have their very own version of Bush.

Umm, let's see- they'll stamp their feet and refuse to vote for Hillary out of spite?

Chobie, do you have any doubt that many, MANY Obama supporters would do just that? My, they throw big tantrums at the mere mention of a possibility of Hillary getting the VP spot! I've heard cries from them that if HC is the VP, they will NOT vote for BO. Lert's be honest here, PUMA is just NOT just about Hillary supporters

I agree with this.

Chobie has been reasonable and fair but some OS have been ragging on Hillary since the beginning of the campaign. One even commented that he would actively campaign against Hillary which threw me big time. :confused3 I don't doubt that some OS would be racing into McCain's group if the situation was reversed.

The Castle looks great! Love the picture with the Scooby gang, though Shaggy has gained a LOT of weight

ETA: I Just now figured your niece is back home with her souvenier. Duh!

First of all - that is one GORGEOUS castle photo!

Second - shouldn't Bart & Lisa be much shorter than Marge & Homer? Bart looks like he's just as tall as Homer! And yes, I agree, they must scare the little ones.......

DisUnc - where is the link to your trip report?

:rotfl2: That's the first thing i thought of when I saw the Simpsons...they do look scary :lmao: gotta love them though....

DISUNC the pictures are great...thanks for sharing :thumbsup2 would love to also finish your trip report....but where is it :confused3

As for the political side of things. I have decided that I hope that Hillary does not go for the VP. Anything that will go wrong with Obama will be blamed on her for sure. If he fails it will be her fault. Think she needs to stay put and run again in 2008.

At this point the Republican side of me is for McCain when it comes to Energy resources...I think we need to drill and also build more Nuclear plants and find all means of energy resources we can.

Also on the Dem side of me people need to be woken up about how we are abusing the resources we already have. We Americans are very greedy people for the most part and need to be slapped awake every 20 or so years....

I am leaning more towards McCain but it will also depend on the debates and who there VP is. I must say that if Hillary is the VP than yes I will bounce back.....only because I could not resist. hope she does not go there .....Obama still scares me.....everyday he shows how inexperienced he is. If he losses hope we dont have the same mess that we had this time with the both running against each other again

But I can tell you one thing, Hillary will not make the same mistake twice and she will come out from the start holding all barrels :thumbsup2

However these are my thoughts for the day...who knows where they will be tomorrow or the next :confused3 popcorn::

I really hope Hillary does NOT take the VP. I truly don't want to see her in that position, not because I think the VP isn't good enough but yes, everything bad or negative that happens to Obama would be Hillary's fault.
Just like now, Obama's numbers are falling and I heard people say it is Hillary's fault for that too! :headache:

I want to see Hillary distance herself from Obama as much as she can. Don't take a VP and have her eyes set for 2012 :thumbsup2
Found this video very interesting...snatched it from the Cons thread.....so tell me hwere does he stand on the issue of the war :confused3 or anything else for that matter popcorn::

http://www.johnmccain.com/videolanding/documentary.htm
The interesting thing about that vid is how his position has changed on a few issues before and directly after the Dem primary for Senate here in Illinios. In the 2003 clips he was against funding the war in any form. The clip of the local news show in May of 2004 was just after he clinched the Dem nomination and was begining the GE. He started his shift towards center. All of a sudden not funding the troops and pulling them out seemed a silly question that the interviewer had taken as fact for some reason.

It wasn't his far left, 'right about this war from the start' positions in 2002 & 2003 that he actually has voted on and pushed since he's been in the Senate, but his more moderate position on the war he started to stake out right after. At least until right before he announced his run for President.

Nice pictures! :)

The new Simpson ride is GREAT! Even hysterically funny waiting on line!:thumbsup2

Now for the politics of the day....

HRC Campaign Aides Buy 2012 Website

company associated with Hillary Clinton's top presidential campaign advance staff has purchased a website domain that hints of a 2012 presidential bid for the vanquished senator from New York.

HRC2012.com was bought by the Markham Group on June 8, according to whois.com

Greg Hale of the Markham Group served as a key advance aide to Sen. Clinton, organizing political events for the campaign. The Markham website calls him the "lead consultant for advance and visual messaging." Partners Paul Neaville and Robert McClarty (the son of former White House chief of staff Thomas "Mack" McClarty) also worked on Clinton's advance team. According to whois.com, the site was registered by Todd Wilder, a longtime Democratic operative from Florida.

A picture of Clinton pops up when the company's website is called up.

One explanation floating out there is that she's doing it to stop the rotten PUMAs from snatching that and other possible HC 2012 domain names for their evil purposes, but, who knows?

In any case I don't see anything wrong with Hillary doing this. Nobody knows what will happen, and she has every right to run again.

Thank you everyone for your prayers and well wishes! We are hanging in there, getting my mom to take her medication and just sitting around talking.

Thanks for sharing your vacation photos DISUNC!! My DD6 loves the Scooby Doo one! I personally, love that castle pictures How beautiful! I want to go back. :cloud9:

It just makes me sick some days that Hillary is not in the race at this time. She was the one I was really excited to see have a chance and now it's just blah. Can't really get excited about Obama or McCain, even though it'll have to be a party vote, not a person vote this time. Just a shame that I can't get excited.

My family just came back from vacation, but we did not do Disney this time. We had a great time anyway. I have enormous amounts of laundry waiting for me so I may not be able to post much.

I HAVE to do laundry today. My niece is coming for a week (she's arriving today) and I want to show her a good time, not do housework...and the week after, we are going away again for a long weekend. I love summer.
