Congrats on PA to all of you Hillary supporters. I have to say...as much as I don't like Hillary - she's a fighter. I do have to admit that I liked her comment about Obama being to "afraid" to debate her in NC I think she's spot on with that.

The DNC needs to understand that this is a serious problem for the party and even though Bush has screwed up the country over the last 8 years; the probability of McCain getting elected in November is high because of this divide. I agree. In the beginning I said time and time again I would gladly vote for either one. Not any more. I will not vote for Obama. He has shown me in the last few weeks/months he has WAY too many skeletons in his closet and he is too immature to handle the job as President.

What really gets me is do people REALLY, I mean REALLY, think Obama can beat McCain in the general. You do not think McCain and the GOP will throw everything they can at Obama and dig up things that haven't even been dug up yet? If Obama can not handle Hillary NO WAY will he be able to handle McCain and the GOP! They will bring him to his knees.
YOu know at least with Hillary we KNOW she can handle herself just fine against the GOP. Over the years she has had the kitchen sink, heck the whole house thrown at her and she is STILL standing! This woman can handle the general election.

Oh and I love how Michelle Obama has been kept quiet. Where is she these days? Not to fear, if the SDs give Obama the nom (yes the SDs have to give him the nom because he can NOT win it without them just like Hillary) I am sure we will hear more of Michelle's racial and anti-American views by the GOP.

I really want to see a Democrat in the White House come November, but I can not and will not vote for someone like Obama. The man's inexperience and childish ways really scares me. He is NOT ready to lead this Country and if at the DNC the SDs vote for him as our nom, the whole Country will soon realize Obama is not ready and we will be swearing in John McCain as our next President. I predict McCain will clean the floor with Obama in the general election.

Hi guys! I'm so excited that Hillary won by 10 points! This whole time I thought it was going to be 5, but am surprised it went up. She still has a slight chance to be nominee, but I'm concerned about the democratic party being split.

At this point I am undecided if I would vote for Obama if Clinton didn't win. He would have to work hard to earn my vote and to bring the party together. I would never vote for McCain, so that's not even an option to me.
I guess I don't understand the thought process behind why people would do that. My guy didn't win the nominee, so I'm voting for the other party?
That would definately put McCain as the winner in November with that attitude.

I have this we'll see attitude. We'll see what she gets out of NC and Indiana.

I have a bad feeling that McCain will win in November - if the two sides of the party do not get together. The only way I can see them "getting together" is forming a joint ticket.

I will answer that because I will not vote for Obama if he is our party's nom. If Obama wins and Hillary is the VP. It will be tough because Obama is the LEADER but YES I would hold my nose and vote for him. At least I know Hillary will be able to have some control.

If Hillary chooses Obama, I would have no problem voting for them.I think Obama would make a great VP and it would give him the experience he NEEDS to become President.

I have nothing personal against Obama. I just feel he is not ready to be President YET. Give him some more years and experience and he will probably be ready. In the last few weeks his inexperience has been coming through more and more and THAT is what worries me with him being President. I just think he needs to 'grow up' a bit before taking on a job like the President of the United States. JMO

This is interesting. Some on the Obama thread are making the claim that the Republicans that voted for the Democrat were all voting for Hillary and that it's some kind of conspiracy to hurt Obama. Did the majority actually vote for Obama? Now why would they do that?

For the sake of argument, let's say Obama will be ineffective in office. That's still better than being destructive, which McCain can and will be.

I would say they are both equal to me. Ineffective does not always equal harmless.

Now on to a mini-rant.

I am so tired of hearing about how Hillary needs to drop out for the good of the Democratic Party. I think they mean for the good of their candidate. If they were really interested in the good of the party - we would be looking at a Clinton/Obama ticket that after 8 years would lead him straight into another 8 years at the top of the ticket with another up and coming Dem as HIS VP. And so on...

And could someone please detail for me how Hillary has been SO negative? I have been a student of politics since - well since I was a Poli Sci major in college. This primary has been TAME as far as the campaigns themselves. Where I am seeing a difference is in the supporters. Part of what I do not like about Obama is how negative and nasty his supporters are - isn't he supposed to be all about Hope and Change? Somehow the OS didn't quite get that memo. Talk about tearing down a fellow Dem - where was I when Bill Clinton was the worst president ever? I remember him being pretty darn good. I remember other Dems agreeing with me! I can't even read over on DU anymore. Makes the OS here on DIS look like fuzzy little puppies. If negativity and nastiness is what his leadership inspires - well no thanks.

Another thing - what is he going to change again? Oh yeah - how they do politics in DC. I am assuming that since he was a constitutional law professor - he should know a little about how that works. And that much of that is handled by the legislative branch of our government - not the executive. So - how many Senators and Representatives does he have on board for this change? He is going to need a large majority to not only agree but to actually participate in this change. With that - he will need some kind of leverage - a way to hold their feet to the fire so to speak (I mean why would they just voluntarily give up a golden goose?). I know - he could use the threat of them being voted out of office by their constituencies! That is if he can get the American people to 1) learn who their people in Congress are in the first place and 2) pay as close attention to the mid-term elections as they do the presidential (mini-snort here). Then find someway to stop the multi-million dollar ad campaigns from influencing them. (Huge snort - major chuckle - totally )

Whew! Wiping my eyes and trying to get my breath back. Yeah - I know. I will stop here. I will never have much of a career in writing fantasy novels - will I?

I gave you specific examples of what we KNOW MCain will do and all you can come up with that?

Yes, McCain will be very effective at bombing Iran, appointing more far right judges, and vetoing any legislation that will do something about health care or other issues that Hillary is campaigning for.

Look at his voting record. At the fact that he said he will not have any VP that is prochoice, at his kissing up the the Christian right etc., etc, etc.

We also know McCain will not take any steps to get our troops out of Iraq anytime in the foreseeable future, we know that he will give more tax cuts to the top 1%, and we know that the cuts in earmarks that he plans to make will not offset the lost revenue from those tax cuts. We know that health care will stay status quo.

I cannot forsee either Democratic candidate doing ANY of the above...
