No calls being made yet!:headache:

Me thinks CNN wants the viewers to STAY TUNED!

Don't trust the unweighted exit polls!

[UPDATE, 8:12 PM: Welcome, new readers! The scenario I predicted in this post is now happening. Some leaked exit poll numbers show Obama winning, others Clinton leading by a slight margin. Regardless, it's all meaningless. Likewise, CNN's statement that the race is "competitive based on the exit polls" should be not taken as predictive of the final outcome. CNN initially said Ohio was "competitive," too. Anyway, I've liveblogging the results on my homepage.]

Following up on a point I made yesterday -- in a post that just got Instalanched -- as we political junkies giddily await the first hints of what's happening in Pennsylvania today (finally, another primary!! election results tonight!! exit polls!!! colorful maps!!! whee!!!!), it's very important for us, and even moreso the media, to remember that Obama almost always does well in the leaked, unweighted exit polls, and almost always does less well in the final results. For instance:

Well the polls are closed and no one is projecting anything. The exit poll results are notoriously unreliable and I have an early bedtime planned. I guess, I'll find out tomorrow.

I see that some people suddenly dislike Bill now. I won't crucify him because I remember quite well how good things were when he was President. A few comments that are questionable won't turn me against him but then to be fair I'm not a strong supporter of the guy he supposedly insults either. :)

Whatever happens, happens now. I'll be checking results later and hoping for the best!

I know ya all hate Fox, but they said Obama always scores better in exit polls then in reality, so expect her to better then they suggest.

Where is everyone? :confused3 Pretty quite around here. I just glanced on CNN... they are saying that Obama is scoring big with new Democrats. What are the local news stations reporting?

I just got internet access back. Semi-truck took out a pole 25 miles south of here and took out internet and HD tv for the entire area at 4am! We just got back up and running about 10 minutes ago!

I've been watching the news as the kids will allow and checking cnn.com on my cell phone...how's that for pathetic?!

Bill Schneider: Hillary "leading"By Brendan Loy

CNN analyst Bill Schneider just slipped when talked about Hillary Clinton's 60% support among seniors (which is less than her 72% support in Ohio), and basically admitted -- catching himself too late -- that she's "leading" overall (according to his interpretation of the exit polls) in what the network is officially calling a "competitive" race with Obama:

"She's not doing as well among seniors, but there are a lot more of them in Pennsylvania, and that's why she's still lead-- er, very competitive."
I'll finish the sentence for you, Bill: "That's why she's still leading."

:goodvibes I HATE ALL NETWORK NEWS!:lmao: They are all Biased! However....the good part about it is that one gets extremely various fews on the same story.
Sounds like the disboards!

IM STILL STICKIN WITH MY CLINTON 60% Obama 40%!:thumbsup2
And I think she will get Philly too!:goodvibes

FOX & NBC call it for hillary!:cool1:

ABC just called it for Hillary too!

CNN now calls Hillary the winner too!

That was never in question. The real question is by how much?
Yep. I wonder which areas haven't been counted yet? That will make so much difference.

In Texas, many of the rural and Hispanic areas came in late and ended up pushing Hillary into the win category. I'm seeing a 6% percent margin reported right now but I'd love to see that widen.

It looks like the rural counties are still mostly out. We might just get a lot higher (I hope, I hope)

and most of that is in Philly...
The Politico was saying all day on the news shows to disreguard any early leads by Obama because his key areas usually come in first. If she's holding her own with a lead at the 50% reporting mark it could be a huge night.

I think only 15% are reporting right now. It is going to be a long night.

Go Hillary :) I really think if she sticks this out, especially with her win tonight, she'll get the party nomination!
