I scored a 10. I liked the Hummer comment but I could not drive around with it:car:

Aw, so sad.

Anyway, it's nice to see some people coming down to earth and taking a fair look. I think both candidates should be scrutinized carefully and treated like real people. Neither one is above it all and neither one is a devil if you know what I mean.

Agreed.

I see that you are over at the Liberal thread trying to make peace...good for you. I tryed to do that a long time ago by asking that we all not criticize each others candidates but there were a few that kept saying that it was a free thread and they could say what ever they wanted and i had no right to ask them to tone it down.

One poster always comes in saying something like ...we all need to work this out...than has to add a sentence pertaining another with a BUT... if the Hillary supporters dont like it they can leave. :teeth:

I think the Liberal thread will be an additional Obama thread till a candidate is chosen. And even then if Hillary were picked there would be bashing by a few there. It may be hard to go back into the liberal thread because If Obama wins we may be told "Told ya so" and if she wins we will not hear the end of it from the same ones.

For the most of us we will be able to come together peacefully and back our party...no matter what. After all we all need to agree on the fact that a Dem in office is better than 100 years in Iraq !

:lmao: I have Sirius. We cant even agree on that!:lmao:

Yeah, but continuing the analogy, the two are merging into one company soon. ;)

And Got Disney, that's not at all what happened, but I'll let people make up their own minds by going over and reading the thread rather than try to explain anything here.

Two great quotes from Hillary's speech in PA:

Thank you for posting those. I don't agree that the consumers are entirely without blame in the housing crisis but regardless something needs to be done and it won't be McCain that does it.

From Fact Check.org

A widely forwarded e-mail claims that Obama's bills are more substantive and numerous than Clinton's. Don't believe it.
Summary
A misleading e-mail has been making the rounds, alleging that Clinton has fewer legislative accomplishments than Obama, and that they are less substantive. We've had questions about it from a number of readers, and blogs have jumped into the fray. So what's the real story on the Senate careers of the Democratic presidential candidates?

We find that the e-mail is false in almost every particular:

It sets up a face-off between apples and, well, broccoli, comparing only the Clinton-sponsored bills that became law with all bills sponsored or cosponsored by Obama, whether they were signed into law or not.

It includes legislation Obama sponsored in the Illinois state Senate, a very different legislative body.

It tells us that Obama has sponsored more legislation than Clinton, when in fact he has sponsored less.

It implies that Obama has passed more bills into law than Clinton, when the opposite is true.
Contrary to the e-mail's assertions, Clinton's and Obama's contributions are not qualitatively different, and quantitatively, Clinton has the edge.

I love Maya Angelou. I can almost hear her voice in the words.....

From Hillary's blog:

Celebrating Women: A Note from Dr. Maya Angelou
by Dr. Maya Angelou
3/31/2008 11:45:30 AM

This entry is part of a series in celebration of Women's History Month.

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.

This is not the first time you have seen Hillary Clinton seemingly at her wits end, but she has always risen, always risen, much to the dismay of her adversaries and the delight of her friends.

Hillary Clinton will not give up on you and all she asks of you is that you do not give up on her.

There is a world of difference between being a woman and being an old female. If you’re born a girl, grow up, and live long enough, you can become an old female. But, to become a woman is a serious matter. A woman takes responsibility for the time she takes up and the space she occupies.

Hillary Clinton is a woman. She has been there and done that and has still risen. She is in this race for the long haul. She intends to make a difference in our country.

She is the prayer of every woman and man who long for fair play, healthy families, good schools, and a balanced economy.

She declares she wants to see more smiles in the families, more courtesies between men and women, more honesty in the marketplace. Hillary Clinton intends to help our country to what it can become.

She means to rise.

She means to help our country rise. Don’t give up on her, ever.

In fact, if you help her to rise, you will rise with her and help her make this country a wonderful, wonderful place where every man and every woman can live freely without sanctimonious piety, without crippling fear.

Rise Hillary.

Rise.

Seems like HC has done a lot more in her time in the Senate per year AND the vast majority of the time she's been in the Senate, she's been in the minority party.

Not to mention he is #3 on the list of Senators who missed more votes, he comes right after McCain. Not a bad showing for the "newbie"!:rolleyes1

I will answer this since I plan to vote for him if he wins the nomination. I truly believe that he means well and I think he's intelligent. Plus I believe that he's a true Democrat and that alone places him way above the Republican.

Not much detail I know but I'm keeping reasons for support (WHEN I share ;) ) simple. As for why others prefer him to Hillary, that I can't figure out.

I agree with all that for sure but cant figure out why the Obama supporters treat him like he is so wonderfull. I mean the feelings that thye have for him...like they would sell there first born for him if he asked...that's what I mean.

I keep watching and listening and I say...okay so do i feel any different know after listening to him...did he rock my boat....and I have to say...NOPE.

But when I listen to Kennedy or Martin Luther king I feel that feeling....I listen to every word as if it is there last. That feeling.

I am listening to Hannity and Colmes and they are talking about PA and they seem to think that the pools are not correct and feel that there is more damage to him momentum than the polls are showing.

They have a pretty good panel on tonight and are being fairly fair....except for Kate Obenshain...she is being a B**** and is very far right.

I know what you mean but I think that only some of the Obama supporters go that far. At least that's what I've seen. I felt some of that excitement when I first discovered Bill Clinton. I remember how thrilled I felt when he and Gore were standing at the convention. But I never got as enthralled as some of the Obama supporters.

I don't know but I do kind of like the enthusiasm. It's nice since the last election was so flat.

the last election was terrible..No way would i vote for Bush although I did understand how many did not want to change chiefs in the middle of a war....and than there was Kerry. Our choices were not like it is this election.

I think it will come down to Obama and McCain and Obama winning once the DEms come together. If we do not have another DEM in office I am going to start saving my money under my matteress :rotfl:

We need Edwards to come forward for Hillary. I say if he is going to do it than do it already. If he is going to come out for Obama than do it already.

Who has a feeling that McCain is going to pick Romney as his VP?

I hope that Edwards will have some kind of job in the next administration. I think he would be great in any role.

I think that McCain will very likely pick Romney as a running mate. He needs an ultra-Conservative to appeal to that side of the Republican party. This gives me chills just thinking about it.
