Dean has said he's going to seat the Fla. delegates now.

Let me start out by saying I'm sick. I have a terrible cold and I got very little sleep last night. But I read the quote above "...he's going to eat the Fla. delegates now." I thought man, Dean's really feeling the stress of this whole thing. :lmao: I mean, if he can't get Hillary to step down...just make the delegates disappear.

Seriously, I'm glad. Wonder how it's going to shake down?

The most common answer I've heard to that - speculation, really - is that it'll be something like 55-45 for Hillary.

However they split them you figure something has to be done with Mich and the votes have to be factored in somehow. HC is now a whole lot closer in popular votes.
Great...and how is he going to split them up? did he say?
This piqued my interest - so I went searching.

This is what I found:

Dean: Fla. Dems will have Denver hotel rooms — and seats

WASHINGTON — National Democratic party chief Howard Dean, under fire for not resolving the Democrats' delegate debacle, Wednesday offered nervous Floridians one bit of hope: Hotel rooms have been reserved in Denver for the state's delegates.

Dean, who met behind closed doors with Florida's Democratic congressional delegation, offered the confirmation of hotel rooms as assurances that Florida's votes will be counted.

But it doesn't bring the situation any closer to resolution. Dean noted it was still going to be up to the rival presidential campaigns "to find a fair solution."

"It is our intention to do everything we can and we believe we will absolutely seat the delegation at the convention in Denver," Dean said. "It is in everyone's absolute interest to see that happens."

U.S. Rep. Ron Klein, an uncommited Florida superdelegate, said he was pleased with the meeting, which came after weeks of angst over the fate of Florida's delegates.

"I think the commitment is there now to make sure that Florida's delegates are counted," Klein said.

He said the delegation sought the meeting with Dean because of the "concern based on cable news network discussions that Florida's delegates weren't going to be counted."

"We've pretty much had assurances all along, but this was an opportunity to bring full circle with the DNC the opportunity to say that Florida was going to be counted," Klein said.

But he noted, "It's up to the two candidates to ultimately make a deal."

So it is by no means official.

Not good if it is going to come down to the candidates to make the deal:confused3 how the heck is that going to play out:scared1:

Do you think that John McCain has that many blind supporters? The guy's been so trashed by members of his own party that it's hard to imagine.
Yes I do. I think that he has a very strong moderate following from before he sucked up to GW to save his political skin. It's the religious neo-cons that really don't like him.

I agree with you about the others. The funny thing is that it appears to be the most devout followers who trash the other candidate and his or her supporters the most and yet those who are trashed seem to become even more devout in self-defense.
You've noticed that, have you? In all seriousness, it's a vicious circle.

I get that....and the koolaid thing is over and that is why I did K****** so not to offend anyone.
Replacing the letters with stars seems pretty silly to me and won't stop the meaning or the intention of the word. If you truly don't want to offend, then don't use the word.

I guess all I can do is chalk it up to how I feel about Martin Luther King and some do not. Him I get ...Obama i dont. That feeling anyway. I guess it is in the eyes of the beholder.
Well, I think that's exactly right. Since you know how you feel about JFK and MLK, imagine having someone call you derogatory things for admiring them. Just sayin'.

.

If you look at the first post where I used it it was to explain that that turm is silly ...that is why I used it by spelling it out that way....because I did not want to use it....I was making a point.... I am glad that that word is not being used anymore...and that was my point. I cant make my point without spelling it out someway. :thumbsup2

another poster posted an article that had that term in it...so i was refering to that.

This is Dean making a mess and wanted everybody else to clean it up. I dont get why its up to Clinton & Obama to figure this out.:confused3
They like the Florida & MI voters had nothing to do with this mess.

BUT it is a good litness test to see what they do in a "damned if you do, damned if you dont" situation! Even though it still not the RIGHT way to do it.

WASHINGTON — Citing Democratic rules, national committee Chairman Howard Dean on Tuesday said the superdelegates who are poised to select the party's presidential nominee are free to back whomever they wish at the end of the primaries, regardless of who leads in the popular vote or pledged delegates.

"They should use whatever yardstick they want," Dean said. "That's what the rules provide for."

Asked about Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's suggestion that superdelegates should exercise independent judgment and not feel bound by the standings after June 3 — when the primary season ends — Dean replied: "That's what the rules say, and I enforce the rules."

He also said superdelegates are free to weigh the disputed primary results in Florida and Michigan. The two campaigns have spent weeks wrangling over a plan that would seat delegates from the states, which violated party guidelines by voting earlier than allowed.

Although his comments were a restatement of party rules, Dean's stance undercut an argument pressed by Sen. Barack Obama and his backers. They have said the candidate who has the most pledged delegates should automatically win the support of any uncommitted superdelegates after primary balloting ends.

Wow, Dean is really helpful.

He wants to seat Florida's delegates but wants Obama and Hillary to work out a deal. Right now those two camps can't even agree on whether it's day or night.

I was just reading an article about "election fatigue" and I think I may be coming down with it......

I almost want to say - "ok - you want it? - lots of luck - go beat McCain and the Republican machine..... come back and tell me how it all works out........"

So what is that affidavit saying? I'm having trouble following. Obama did drugs in 1999 - when did he say he stopped? Or he "took care of" David Young?

The way that read - I thought Young was part of the campaign......

It is saying Young admitted to be BO'S partner. Young was openly gay. Young was murdered and the Chicago police are investigating. Also BO says he used drugs in college. In 1999 he wasn't in college.
