I cannot and will not vote for Obama. I will either write Hillary in or not vote at all.
I truly think that for all his talk of change he will not be able to accomplish anything in office because he will be pushed around by all the old heavyweights and those it looks like he has made promises to in order to get their support. So little to nothing will get done - and the stuff that gets done will not be the stuff that the average American considers to benefit them. Which will cause the Dems to lose the WH and (probably Congress in mid terms too). And then we will be right back where we started - Repub controlled WH and Congress in 4 - 6 years. And they will have had those 4 - 6 years to turn the tide of resentment of the Bush years against an ineffectual Dem leadership. Might as well let them have the next 4 years while we take that time to get our **** in order. If we can.
I am not sure why the powers that be did not think more far reaching and long term. Why did they only shoot for getting the next Pres term to be Dem? They should have been thinking of a 1-2 ticket that would shoot for the next 16 years. I think that a Clinton/Obama ticket followed by a Obama/? would have fit that bill nicely. Hillary has been around DC longer - it would have given Obama the time to develop any experience he may be lacking and paved the way for long term party development.
