Hillary Supporters unite....no bashing please! only smiles

I don't get why such a high number of Hillary voters would vote for McCain if she doesn't get the nom. Yes, I would be upset if Clinton didn't get the nom, but she's going to do better at her job as a Sentator with another Dem as President then a Repub. I always think of that in the long run.

I don't like Barack so much, but I DON'T want McCain in there. I will be voting Democratic no matter what.

Totally illogical

Now to me that's a sad sign. It means that people would rather see another 4 years of the same war and the same economic policies of GW Bush. I really don't think that the country can afford that.

I suspect that the numbers for both HC & BO supporters saying they'll "bolt" will get higher in the coming weeks.

Not a big deal. Always happens. Then 5 long grueling months of a general election (with 529 attack ads) will have 90% of those who stated they'd "bolt"..... coming back into the fold (for a variety of reasons). Granted some will stay home & not vote (just like some evangelicals will stay home & not vote for McCain), but this always happens.

To me November is so far off..........and ANYTHING can happen between now & then. I am not sure these polls were asked of trustworthy people.

As of now I wont vote for McCain Or Obama!:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 BUT I will now better in November.

I know what people are saying. I don't want McCain in office either, but I can not vote for Obama. He would really have to prove himself and win me back over to his side. About a month or so ago I would have voted for him if Hillary didn't get the nom.

I am sorry I won't now. I think he will be a lousy president and we already had 8 years of a lousy president. Would McCain be any better? Probably not.
But I won't vote for McCain either.

Maybe I am a "bad" Democrat, who knows :confused3 but I just can not vote for Obama. His preachy speeches and his whole cry about hope and change just turns me off. Then he turns around and goes negative after preaching about NOT going negative. He can not preach about how he is ready to change politics when he is doing the same negative attacks others have done.

I know Hillary isn't perfect and I will admit she has said some thing that make me :headache:

But I do think she can run the Country with a level head. Obama worries me! That is why I can not vote for Obama. With Obama in charge really worries me.

Not sure who I would vote for if Hillary doesn't get the nom. McCain? Nope, Nadar, Nope.......I will just leave it blank or write in someone.

I do like the thought about Al Gore! I would vote for him (again!!!) ;)

Do not be so sure of that. My retired Marine Corp uncle was planning on sitting this one out. Wants the war to be over but can't bring himself to vote for a Dem. That was until Jeremiah Wright. My uncle does not have a racist bone in his body (easy for me to say - I know - but it true. One of the most fair minded people you will ever meet in that respect.) But do NOT dis his country. "God Damn America" has him nashing at the bit to go vote against Obama. How many other disillusioned Repubs were going to sit this one out until they were given this years "gay marriage"? And if the Obama camp thinks that Hillary merely commenting that she would not attend a church like that is playing dirty - well as the song says "You ain't seen nothin' yet".

With all due respect - I am quite aware of what I am voting for in this election. It is not taking "taking your ball and going home when the game is not going in your favor" when I truly feel that Obama is not the right person for the job at this time.

Yes - I know that there are not huge policy differences. I feel like Obama co-opted and made slight changes to many of the things that Hillary had already proposed. My problem is with execution and effectiveness. I do not think that Obama will be able to even come close to accomplishing in office what Hillary could.

But you think McCain will come closer to accomplishing what Hillary could? And you don't think Repubs are going to come out to vote against Hillary, especially after they are reminded again and again about how here husband (who she chose to stay married to) defiled the oval office?

While I know there are some out there that still feel anger over that - many more have gotten over it. It is an old anger. Some don't fire up twice. My uncle was furious over the whole thing back in the day. Now - while he wouldn't vote for her - she is not what is driving him to the polls this fall.

How well will Obama do against the reminders of the "God Damn America" video along with the pics of Obama and Wright being all cozy and smiling? When I talked with my uncle about this - he said that everyone was so caught up in whether it was racist or not that they are overlooking those that love their country and do not take kindly to anyone speaking against it. And they are not all conservative/Repubs.

(Sorry to keep using my uncle as an example. He really is the only one in my family that has an opposing point of view that I still speak with these days.)

How well will either candidate do is something left to be seen. Now you said that you don't think Obama could come close to accomplishing what Obama could and even if that was true, don't you think he would at least come closer to accomplishing what Hillary could than McCain?

And I have been just as emphatic about this on the Obama thread. The real threat is GW McCain-NOT Hillary, NOT Obama.

This is why we NEED a combined ticket.

We've got to bring the democratic coalition together.

I hate to say it - but it may be the only way I can vote for Obama - with Hillary on the ticket. I think they would complement each other - forget all the "they hate each other" talk - they need to suck it up and do what's good for the country.

At this point - they've had so much exposure with the electorate - I can't see either side accepting a "stranger" on the ticket........

They both earned it.

Poll: Twenty-Eight Percent Of Hillary Supporters Would Back McCain If Obama Wins

This, from Gallup, is the first polling I've seen on this question -- it finds that Hillary supporters say they're more likely to bolt to McCain if their choice doesn't end up as the nominee:

http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/03/poll_twentyeight_percent_of_hi.php

A lot of Hillary supporters off the "net" are "Reagan Democrats," blue collar, lower-wage earners, senior citizens, white women. Some of these people probably vote on issues other than the democratic platform.

I flirted with a McCain vote - but I think I'll just write in Hillary - if she's not on the ticket......... This is the first time I would not be supporting our nominee. Ugh.

Personally - I think McCain would cream Obama during a debate ....... especially when it comes to foreign policy - McCain may be wrong on the war - but he actually believes he is right. Look how that worked for Bush during the last election.......

Analysis: How bad is it for Obama in Pennsylvania?

Presidential aspirant Barack Obama might be hoping some of that Pennsylvania predisposition to climatic variability inspires some equally dramatic changes in the prospects for his state campaign against Hillary Clinton. Certainly the Obama campaign is not doing well at all in Pennsylvania.

Analysis: Obama's keys to winning the Keystone State Just how bad is documented by some key findings from a series of polls, including the Franklin and Marshal College Poll, all released recently. Almost none of the results bode well for Obama.

Across the board Clinton is winning and winning big. She has decisively stopped Obama’s earlier momentum in Pennsylvania—and seems set for a romp.

Statewide among Democrats, Clinton holds a lead that ranges from 16 to 26 points. The Real Clear Politics consensus estimate is roughly 17 points. She is winning every major region of the state except Philadelphia, while Obama has actually slipped slightly with blacks and more substantially with younger voters—two demographics that are critical backstops for him in the contest.

He has also lost support with other key constituencies including white males and evangelicals.

From just mid-February to mid-March, he sustained a 10 point decline in his favorable ratings according to the Franklin & Marshall College Poll.

Please know when we say things about Obama supporters we are not talking about people like you. We mean the hard-core folk (who like some of Hillary's supporters) can't see the gray areas. I hope we can all pull together in the end. Unfortunately, I've been feeling like it'll be hard for me to vote for Obama. I'm just not feeling like I can believe in him much and that scares me a little. Maybe when it comes down to it, I can come around? I hope so for the good of the party.

I hope so also and get where you are coming from. I do not like him at all..there is something about him that rubs me the wrong way:confused3 This Church thing does not help. I also did not like his remark about a "Typical White person" could you imagine if Hillary said a "Typical Black person"
she would be done.

also a remark tonight that he made saying He is not afraid of any man or woman for that matter(referring to McCain and Hillary)....could you see Hillary saying that she is not afraid of any white man or any black man for that matter   ....

But I do not want McCain so i will go to the polls kicking and screaming if he wins and vote for him anyway. Luckily he will not be running the US all by himself.

Latest PA Poll

Hillary Clinton 51.5%
Barack Obama 38.7%

GREAT BIG WOW!!!!!

Interesting snippet from CNN:

Cafferty: Is McGovern right that it's easier to elect black man president than woman?
Posted: 01:59 PM ET

FROM CNN's Jack Cafferty:

It will be easier to elect a black man president than a woman.

Those are the words of former senator and 1972 Democratic presidential nominee George McGovern. He's actually a Hillary Clinton supporter, but he says he feels that where this country stands today in its thinking, it's going to be harder to elect a woman. He also says, "I wish that weren't true… I'd love to see Hillary as president."

McGovern says he sometimes hears from men who don't think a woman is ready to assume the responsibilities of the top office in the land. Some worry it's "too big a job" for a woman or that she wouldn't be able to "handle those terrorists." McGovern says he rarely hears the same concerns about a black man.

I hope that a lot of people are just reacting in anger to Obama and his supporters right now and that we can all pull together when the time comes. I understand the frustration - I've basically had enough myself lately but the prize is too important to just vote against someone IMO. Tempting as it might be. ;)

However, I think it might get a lot worse before it gets better though. But if this keeps up I'm going to start saying "stay the course". Ugh, I hate that expression!

ya know reading the posts that many posters make about Hillary needing to get out that she has no chance and she is just pulling the party apart and she is a lier and so on and so on....has gotten very old same old same old...

I hope she wins so the Obama supporters(not all but many) that are so high on the horse get taken down a peg and realize that in politics it changes everyday no matter what you want or feel you are entitled to...

I was glad to see that the polls are 22% Obama supporters and 22% of Hillary supporters feel the other should drop out. 66% say keep it going

the only difference is I have never heard any Hillary supporter say that to a Obama supporter as they do to us about him getting out.

so I will say it know...Obama needs to drop out. He is tearing the party apart with his lies for one like for 20 years not hearing what his wonderful racist mentor has said.

all his exaggerations on what he has done in addition to using the term "Typical white folks" , also that he will run a clean campaign and not pull what Hillary does...yet he is over and over again. Also he hates old politics yet he surrounds himself with old time politicians that are practicing what he calls old politics... Should I continue...

Well know that that was said......this is for the Obama supporters that can for some reason not see that Obama himself is just another politician trying to win. I think he should drop out and let someone who can run this country run it...

I found the need to post this after reading all the treads tonight on how Hillary needs to get out before she implodes the Democratic party.

I don't feel that Obama should drop out but had to show that he is the same as Hillary...If he felt the party was in danger than he should just drop out to save the party...but he is not doing that is he...so he is also staying in regardless of what happens to the party.., as in tearing the party apart....he is in it to win just as she is.

If he cared more than Hillary about this problem of the party than why is he not getting out? He will stay in and continue to bad mouth hillary and do all it takes to take the crown at all costs...and I mean all costs....he is no better than any other Candidate.

You say well he has more of this and more of that so he should not drop out...well if he wanted to resolve this problem and he had concerns about a crash and burn of the party and from what I have hered he is a great great man you would think he would follow the lead of Edwards who dropped out for one reason the good of the party.

By the way they are talking about all of Obamas miss spocken words...if you want to call it that ...after all they are lies not miss spocken words ...right? or are they just lies when they come out of hillarys mouth...

Okay I am done ranting:rotfl2: ... I know it will come on deaf ears when it comes to the OS but that's okay...I just needed to say it.popcorn::

Sure.......Obama should drop out. He's the one harming the party.

DEFLECT DEFLECT DEFLECT IS WHAT THE DNC IS DOING!

Has nutin to do w/ Hillary or Barack.....IT's FL & MI votes not being counted is the REAL problem. And the DNC leaders rather see Hillary drop out so this problem will "go away".

That is the root of all the problems. Shameful!

Already read and digested this. But thanks for sharing it.

He's a republican. Enough said.

Brooks is an idiot. I have disagreed with him on almost every issue he has EVER written about. I am not about to change my mind about his opinions now.

I would like to take a commercial break with a happy moment :goodvibes

On my way to work a Hillary Supporter was on a corner in Clifton Heights PA with Hillary signs....it has started! I beeped & gave him the :thumbsup2 He said thanks. It was a young guy.
