Yep, they're all politicians. They do what they feel will get them the most votes. They all do the double talk and try to slip out of answering sticky questions. It's part of the game. What bothers me is that Obama says he's not cut from the same bolt of cloth, but his campaign sure looks like it is. If it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck....

Exactly. He is negative campaigning now on purpose. End of story.

And I believe that some of his supporters think that's "ok" - because, after all - she deserves it.

Let's face it - we are never going to find common ground with some of the Obama supporters - I have tried. Most do not care if we are turned off by all this negative stuff - they don't need our votes in the general. Whatever.

PA Voters I just received an email from the Clinton Campaign. Hillary's PA offices are up & running.
If you would like to volunteer the main # is 215-625-0329. The person at this # will give you the contact # for the office in your area.

The link will show you the campaign offices in your area.

You can do as much or little as you want.

Thanks
Kathleen

I don't agree with them that they don't need our votes. I think that Obama needs Hillary's supporters just as much as Hillary needs Obama's supporters. The Conservatives aren't just going to stay home during the general election.

I don't get the point of all the nastiness. If someone doesn't like one of the candidates that's fine but why constantly attack that person? I guess that's just politics.

ITA. If the Democrats Divide over this the Republicans win. That is not going to happen. There are a few crazy people out there but they are not representative of the party.

It seems like the "sore winner" syndrome. Not only are they content with being ahead - they are obsessed with the winning. Its more than in previous elections.

Hi everyone,
the news has been interesting to day the least today....it's been a he said she said all day:confused3 Hillary's Bosnia snafu is all over but for the most part they have been saying that they honestly don't think she made the mistakes on purpose...so at many times although the networks are running it they are at times understanding her snafu for what it is.

They are also adding in about Obama doing the same thing with many statements he has made. Yet the Obama camp is trying to hit back with it.

One thing that did make me a little peeved is when they we talking about her statement made about Obamas pastor and how she said she would leave that church if it were her....some networks from time to time failed to state that she was answering a question asked to her about what she would do if that was her church.

This looks like it is going to get ugly. I don't think that the pastor fiasco is going to be forgotten or pass. Get ready everyone the war is about to begin!

I hope this can be settled amicably - a war will only help the other side......

I wonder if this race were between 2 men - if it would be less acrimonious?

Chelsea Clinton dismisses Lewinsky question
Posted: 08:05 PM ET

(CNN) — Chelsea Clinton has fielded a lot of questions as she campaigns for her mother's presidential bid, but on Tuesday the former first daughter faced a particularly awkward query for the first time.

Campaigning at Butler College in Indianapolis, an audience member asked the 28 year-old whether the Monica Lewinsky scandal had damaged her mother's reputation.

"Wow, you're the first person actually that's ever asked me that question in the, I don't know maybe, 70 college campuses I've now been to, and I do not think that is any of your business," Clinton responded, appearing a bit surprised by the question. The crowd immediately cheered loudly at the response.

It was supposed to be the last question of the event, but Chelsea Clinton decided to take one more, saying, "I don't think that should be the last question."

Though she has faced the glare of public life since she was a girl, Chelsea Clinton has contended with renewed press coverage after taking on a more prominent role in her mother's campaign earlier this year.

The Monica Lewinsky scandal made a brief return to the news last week, when newly-released White House schedules indicated Hillary Clinton was likely in the White House during at least 6 reported instances of encounters between her husband and the former White House intern.

No think it would be the same. This is turning out to be same old politics. Was wondering when Obama was going to show his true colors. He said he would not stoup to other politicians levels from Hillary and the past. That he refused to run his campaign that way....well looks like his bluff was called out.

Instead of holding his ground he decided to come out fighting. Would have thought more of him if he kept his word and said...I will not play these games with my opponent...I said I would run a clean campaign and I will stick to my word.

If he had done that and not let Hillary get his goat as she intended to do ...he would have been the wiser. know he is no better than Hillary when it comes to old politics. But at least with Hillary we knew from the beginning how she would play.

It's funny though. If Hillary says something negative or makes a claim that Obama might not be good at something then she's evil and mean and hurting the party and so on. If Obama or his fans do the same, well of course Hillary deserved it. Plus some Obama supporters (not all!) tend to kind of stomp their foot and grab their ball and refuse to play any more. I guess that a few Hillary supporters have done that too but it seems so prevalent in the Obama camp.

There's still such a glaring double standard it amazes me.

I think Cheslea handle that question top notch! :thumbsup2 Maybe one day we will see her running for president ;)

Of course it is OK for Obama to go negative towards Hillary, she deserves it

Hillary is the one causing the tension in the Dem party, not Obama. (according to some)

If Obama gets the Nom and becomes the Dem candidate, and then he loses in the general (which he WILL --- I seriously do not see anyway how he can win without Hillary by his side, which I don't think that will happen either anymore) but when Obama loses the general election (if he is even the nom), I have a big feeling the Obama supporters will some how turn around and say it was Hillary's fault that Obama lost! They won't be able to see/understand that not everyone "loves" or even likes Obama as a leader!

I do have to say I have been glad to see Obama fall of his pestal he has been put on. I have been hearing a lot of people who are now second guessing him ;)

Good for her. I think she's got the best qualities of both of her parents and I don't think we've seen the last of her. I don't know if she'll be in politics, but she will be influential.

Some of us knew from the beginning that he was a politician, just as Hillary is a politician. They have both done things that I'm not happy about, but since I never had either of them on a pedastal, I can live with it. I have a higher goal, that is keeping McCain out of office.

Well said. :thumbsup2

That seems to become more and more difficult as all of this fuss goes on. I do believe that most people will pull together when the times comes though.

Please know when we say things about Obama supporters we are not talking about people like you. We mean the hard-core folk (who like some of Hillary's supporters) can't see the gray areas. I hope we can all pull together in the end. Unfortunately, I've been feeling like it'll be hard for me to vote for Obama. I'm just not feeling like I can believe in him much and that scares me a little. Maybe when it comes down to it, I can come around? I hope so for the good of the party.

John McCain is already uniting the Democratics. I was having my doubts about being able to vote for Obama in a general. We will all be happy to have him over McCain when/if the time comes IMO

Personally. I think this Bosnia thing is as much as a non-issue as the pastor gate, but I'm more concerned about the issues of the Democratic party which both Hillary and Obama support.

Neither candidate is perfect. But I wasn't expecting Jesus to run this time anyway. However, if he was running it was surely be as a Democrat.

Fitswimmer I'd like to reiterate what Mary Poppins said. I've made a conscious effort to always say 'some' of Obama's supporters. I know and respect that some of his supporter have looked at the two records and made an educated decision to support him. I have no issue when that. It's the vilification if Hillary over things that she hasn't said or done that just infuriates me. I know that Hillary isn't perfect - there things she's done that have dismayed me. (Bosnia anyone?) but some of the things flung at her aren't even rational.

Really? I think they are both big issues. I cannot fathom how either candidate thought they'd get away with these things.
