I don't like the current state of the Democratic Party either but I still hope it'll change on down the road. It's creepy though.

Particularly troubling is the inferences I've seen lately that some people don't get Obama because they might not be intelligent enough to understand him. THAT is way too elitist for me and for the party too. Luckily I've only seen a few people mention this and hopefully it's not a prevalent belief.

Most of the Obama supporters feel this way - because they desperately want to win the nom - a good number of them are CONVINCED he is the only solution to the country's ills. They don't seem to see that they are actually one of the causes of the party splitting..... Its all transfered to the "evil" Hillary. She can't nod her head without an ulterior motive. And we're (the Hillary supporters) are being thrown to the curb (kind of like an "agree with us or else your opinion holds no weight" mentality).

Its a shame - I never thought I'd see the party like this..... its becoming - dare I say it - whispering ....... like the republicans! ugh

If Obama gets the nod, without the FL&MI votes he will have won the battle....But he will never win the War.

I really feel like this could create a permanent rift in the party - maybe even lead the way to the formation of another party. You know - kinda like how we all left the liberal thread?

This is all such a shame also....at a time that we all need to unite we are falling apart. If Obama gets the nod than Hillary will have to work hard to get her supporters to stay on the Dem side...and vice versa for Obama...

Hopefully the Dem party can convince them to make a ticket and bring us all together. They both need to realize that second in charge is not a let down but a privilege. I see that as the only way left to keep this together and pull a win out form McCain

And the OS need to come to terms with Obama not being a perfect candidate that will join us as one because if that was so than all his supporters would be rallying around the party and not the man. They would have said yes we are of one people we are united and that is what Barack has taught us.... how funny that he preches this but that is not the case.

See the thing is - I do not think the party insiders that are driving all this are listening. I know the Obama camp and their supporters aren't. They really do view those that don't "get" Obama as inferior, lacking in intelligence and probably think we are not true liberals. They have this pre-conceived idea of what this campaign/election is going to look like and they are not going to let anything derail it.

I'm pretty upset about the votes not counting. I'd be just as upset if it was the Republican vote that didn't count. I just think everyone's vote should matter.

And as far as not being smart enough to "get" Obama...I guess you can count me in that group. I think I'm reasonably intelligent and I have a college degree, but I still don't see him as the best candidate. Some of the choices he's made don't sit well with me and these last few days I've seen that he doesn't always choose words as carefully as he could. I'm thinking this is why he prefers the speech over the interview. I've started to wonder if he's what he seems to be? Add that to not liking his preachy style and wanting more meat in his speeches and Hillary wins hands down for me. I'm not saying she's the right choice for everyone...just where I am coming from.

I also think Hillary has been pretty classy this last week. She stayed out of the whole Obama's minister deal. And now, I hear today that Obama's people started going after Hillary. Isn't that what his people have been griping about? That he runs a clean campaign and doesn't sling mud? And now they're doing it? Hmmm. If you ask me, you shouldn't throw rocks if you live in a glass house.

I agree that it's good that Hillary has stayed out of the fray. She seems to be trying to run a cleaner campaign all around lately so why are Obama's people attacking? It's odd.

This quote has been haunting me! Since the GOP dont make sense to me on their words only, and now the DNC is sounding the same. My thoughts are this.

If you just listen, and take what the Democrat 'leaders' are saying on face value then nothing in this primary process is making any sense.

They way they wanted Hillary to quit a few weeks ago, Before her Ohio, Texas & RI wins?

After numerous time saying "I am in to win, and I will stay in the race until the END" did John Edwards suddenly bow out only days before Super Tuesday?? Why didnt he stay in a few more days?

He really gave no explanation other than "It's time for me to step aside so that history can blaze its path". Then went into "Garbo" like seclusion...only too show up on The Tonight Show, and not really say anything as to why he left or why he was on the show?

Why would Richardson, go against his friends (Best FRIENDS in some interviews), his constituients (NM went for Hillary) and his Hispanic people (who are vehemently against Obama)?

A few weeks ago Richardson said on CNN..."But I think superdelegates should vote according to who they represent. If somebody's appointed as a superdelegate because they're Hispanic or a governor, they should pay attention to what their voters and their constituencies are saying.

As some articles suggest Ted Kennedy had his hand in this. Also seems as Richardson is known for "skirt chasing", and this simply may be a sexist move on his part. I can see where Bill & Ted (having a excellant adventure ), may not want to see a woman beat them too the oval office!

She didnt have to do a thing. This was ALL Obama brought this on himself. This was like Obama giving a GIFT to Hillary! Because they are both Democrats she will remain quiet...UNTIL the next Debate..when the Judgement issue comes up.

He always states that it is NOT experience of a candidate but the Judgement of the candidate that we should look at. And he says Hillary has no judgement since she vote for the War. Which BTW is his only "bad judgement" call he has for Clinton, and even that is severely weak.

I agree with what everyone yesterday said on here....and I too am getting a headache

...........this thing with Richardson has me convinced something is up and just not right. Talk about a stab in the back . You just don't stick by someone through and through and believe and learn from someone that you agree with for years on end and than switch up sides when the issues on the table are so much alike. Obama offered him something worth more than Hillary did in order for him to do this.

why not switch up prior to Texas....what does he mean that once he heard Obamas speech the other night he was convinced that he was the man. Hillary's speech was good also. I think that he has been offered by both and the 2 things that may have swade him are that he got a better offer from Obama and that he feels that Obama will win so he wants to be on the winning side so not to be left out in the dust.

He best hope that Hillary does not win because if she does he is toast. Hillary still has a hefty lead on on the SD and hope she can keep them till the end.

As far as the issue with his church that I cant get over. It just bugs me about his 20 year association with his pastor and Obama covering himself by flip flopping and tripping all over his words not just about this but about NAFTA and Canada and so on.

I guarantee that if Hillary wins due to pulling out all the next states and Obama is still ahead, but due to this Association with his Pastor the SD decide with Hillary there will be riots in the streets....I truly have no doubt.

If this happens and the party falls apart it will be said by the Obama Supporters that it is due to Hillary...although it will be the OS doing the rioting and making all the trouble.

The only way I can see out of this is a ticket plan and simple.

yes he has IMO but will it make much of a difference...I don't think so. Do I think he is racist..no I don't , at least no more than any of us have felt throughout years of how some of our parents and media has made us believe at times we should be.

As a Black man has he had to endure more inequality than us that are white ....yes he has....and I have seen it with my best friend Richard who is black how he is looked at, at he is a good man. so is that where the "Typical white person" statement came in, maybe so.

I get a different feeling from Michelle Obama however. I feel that she is racist and she feels as if the world owes her because of it. Did she have to endure problems being black in her life that me as a white woman have not....for sure. But my life was not peaches and cream either and I have overcome. In many ways her life was much much better than mine. And after all I am not living in a 1.5 million Dollar home and did not go to an Ivy league collage, even though i am a smart woman.

She just strikes me in a bad way. She seems to be a bitter person or even a snob. I like Obama but not her. As for the church again. Would you bring your young children to sit in there and listen to that? I hope not and it has been said that he sat there for many reasons also in order to help help him further his political career with the African American people...so again would you bring your children to listen to a pastor like that so to help your career...I hope not.....

That I cant get past.....there for I have to question his values and reasoning. Maybe because I am white I see it differently I don't know but my friend Richard has agreed with me and he is black.

I hope he does not pick Richardson to be his VP because after what Richardson has done I question his motives as well. The 2 together will turn me off and force me to look harder at McCain.Will I vote for McCain...well most likely not but just the fact thqat it would make me look harder at him disturbs me.

Well, I won't look for a vast conspiracy just yet but I'll keep my eyes and ears open of course. I HOPE with all my heart that Edwards didn't quit due to some agreement because that would just be too sad. But who knows? Politics is like that.
