Hillary's speech was very good but of course all of the controversy surrounds Obama nowadays so the Press is back to pretty much ignoring Hillary. It's strange to see Obama actually getting bad press though.

By the way, I was amused to see someone post something negative about Obama on the Obama thread and that person was told that the thread was only to say good things about Obama. OK.....

Yeah ... I noticed that. A little bit of the pot calling the kettle black. But, I would cut them some slack right now. They have been pounded pretty hard for the last week and I think they deserve a quiet place without being bothered. I hope that they will extend this thread the same courtesy if and when we need it.

Obama's numbers were trending down before the speech - I wonder if this is why Hillary was hanging around? ;)

SurveyUSA: Obama Losing Big To McCain In Ohio, Missouri And Kentucky
By Eric Kleefeld - March 19, 2008, 3:33PM

A new set of polls by SurveyUSA shows that Barack Obama's electability has taken a serious drubbing as a result of his recent setbacks, and he now does much poorer than Hillary Clinton does against John McCain in the three tested states:

Ohio
Clinton (D) 50%, McCain (R) 44%
McCain (R) 50%, Obama (D) 43%

Missouri
McCain (R) 48%, Clinton (D) 46%
McCain (R) 53%, Obama (D) 39%

Kentucky
McCain (R) 53%, Clinton (D) 43%
McCain (R) 64%, Obama (D) 28%

The internals show that in all three cases Obama gets a smaller share of the white vote than Hillary does, without room for his improvements among African-Americans to make up the difference.

(Via MyDD)

Late Update: One thing also worth noting is that these polls were conducted before Obama's speech yesterday on race relations, so we simply don't know yet what impact it might have in turning these numbers around.

I'd predict she's going to do pretty well in Indy and NC with Dems and dominate with crossover independents and Reps.

I'm In and raise ya.....I predict she will be the Next President of the United States of America!:thumbsup2

Hmmm...a sampling from Philadelphia

And his speech Tuesday, although widely praised by the pundit caste and Obama supporters, has only seemed to widen the gulf with the Budweiser class here.
...
A day after the speech, local residents were left wondering whether Obama was candid in the last week when he said he hadn’t heard any of Wright’s most objectionable remarks, but then said Tuesday that he had heard “controversial” remarks while sitting in the pews.
...
Glenn Peter, 54, a patron at Rauchut’s Tavern, said he heard finger pointing, not reconciliation. He took issue with Obama’s explanation that Wright’s observations of a racist America were reflecting the racial scars of his past.
...
Peter said he’s never voted for a Republican for president, but if Obama is the nominee, he will support Sen. John McCain.
...
Mitrea, the aesthetician on her cigarette break outside Beautyworx Salon and Day Spa in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, said she watched the whole speech. And before the controversy over Wright’s sermons, Mitrea said she was 55 percent for Clinton, 45 percent for Obama.
...
“Now I am 100 percent for Clinton and zero percent for Obama,” Mitrea said.

As for the bolded part, I think someone needs to fly to Penn from the Obama camp and explain semantics to these people ASAP!

I like it!:goodvibes

I follow the $$$$ trail. So I will wait to see how much $ is donated to HC.

BTW Bill Clinton was in my town last night speaking. I had to miss it, was called into work for a emergancy!:guilty:

Ok - I am admitting that I am sick of hearing and talking about "Pastor-gate" - and just why the heck is everything a "gate" anyway? But I digress.

I have been out to a board meeting, had my oil changed, had my roots done, went grocery shopping and met a friend for lunch in the last couple of days. I do not know about where you all live but people here are talking about it and Obama is not playing well. (yes - I eavesdrop on conversations when I do not just join in!) Yet - you watch the media coverage and according to them - he has managed to walk on water. Or at least skate over some very thin ice! Where is the disconnect? Or are they not listening?

The biggest thing I heard today was that (oil change guys) how come if this was supposed to be the start of a real conversation - why are they still being labeled racist for not agreeing/believing everything Obama had to say in his speech? I have to admit - that I see their point. I have noticed quite a bit of media coverage that has been like "if everything wasn't cleared up for you 100% by Obama's speech - then you are a racist and ignorant to boot". So, one more time people - there is a world of difference between someone being your close personal friend/spiritual advisor and an endorsement. (You spin me right round baby right round - like a record baby...)

Anyway, I love that there must not have been any real bombshells in Hillary's papers if all they can find to rant about is that she was in the WH when Bill was messing around with Monica. And boy are some grinding on that. You hardly hear about the comment the guy from Judicial Watch who said it appears (especially in the early years) that Hillary was almost co-president. Aren't those Judicial Watch people a conservative watch dog group? Wouldn't they have blasted her for whatever they found if it was there? Oh yeah - there was lots of redacted info. I am sure that Hillary was not sitting there with 11,000 papers and a black Sharpie going "Nope - can't let them see that!" There are rules to what is redacted and what is not and I am pretty sure they are not set by the person whose papers they are!

This concerns me.

WAYNE, Pa. (AP) - Pennsylvanians are rushing in record numbers to sign up as Democrats so they can vote in the April 22 presidential primary between Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Many are lured by the historic drama of two U.S. senators vying to be the first black or female president. But the two campaigns also are busily recruiting independents, disgruntled Republicans and those who weren't previously registered at all.

Are these republicans changing their party affiliation (albeit temporary) and voting for Obama, knowing he cant win the General Election????:confused3

Or reps who don't want him to get the chance.

Oh no - those who change their affiliation to vote for Obama are pure of heart and seeing the light. It is only those who change to vote for Hillary that are trying to throw the vote and be unfair.

I firmly believe that the ONLY way McCain can win the election is if Obama is the DEM nominee. I thought this, even from the beginning. My "theory" is supported by that Obama does better in Open primaries where GOP members can vote!!!!

Unfortunately, we will only KNOW for sure the day after Election day if it is a McCain/Obama run, and McCain wins by a landslide!:guilty: ...and then it will be too late.

The only thing I can say is that McCain is crazy and will p**** everybody off if he is pres, both liberal and conservative.

I still think that either candidate can beat McCain but only if they play it smart. McCain's not all that, even many of his so-called supporters were totally against him just a few months ago. However, I could see people voting against the Democratic candidate instead of for McCain and that's something that I hope we can avoid.

I can't see people voting Against a dem they don't like, but I can easily see people just sitting home and not voting at all. That would be a shame.

I think early on there were a bunch of reps. voting for Obama to vote against Hill, then it switched to people voting for her to gum up the Dem. primary. I think after this past week there is going to be a substantial number who are voting to mess up the Dem. primary AND others voting against him. His negative numbers have jumped up this week.

Here is a quote from a radio interview he gave today in PA:

"The point I was making was not that my grandmother harbors any racial animosity, but that she is a typical white person. If she sees somebody on the street that she doesn't know (pause) there's a reaction in her that doesn't go away and it comes out in the wrong way."

Hmm, a "typical" white person. Really nice stereotyping there, Barak.
