1) Well...I think you're spinning it a little to favor Hill (her camp doesn't want a revote, they want the first vote to count), but I'll agree that Barack's camp is wrong on this if they try to fight a "re-vote" in Florida or Michigan.

2) There is such a thing in politics as "incumbent advantage". It's something that the most well-known candidates always enjoy, and Hillary is possibly the best known female Democrat of the last 50 years. With no campaigning allowed, NOBODY is going to beat someone with that kind of name recognition. It's just the way it works. As for Ohio...he cut a 20+ point lead in the polls down to a virtual tie before....you know, I better not get into that or we'll just end up fighting again. :teeth:

3) I actually wouldn't have a problem with the DNC donating at least part of the funds, and would even donate a bit myself to assist with that (although what they could do with my hundred bucks is an open question ;) ). Ultimately, it was the fault of the state parties for screwing things up, but the DNC needs to do some damage control, and helping to fund it would go a long way towards winning back anybody turned off by the seeming lack of concern about their votes within the party.

1) I've actually heard both from her camp-give her the delegates now or do over. I think it's unreasonable to expect them to just give her all of Mich. I said I understand why she's taking the position she's taking, and we both agree the way it's going it's a losing position on Obama's side to try to fight it too long.

2) Yeah, he cut into a 20 point lead with a flyer that had the word 'boon' that she never used, she started talking about a memo that did exist and a meeting that did take place between one of his people and Canada which he denied at first then admitted to, then said it wasn't about not changing NAFTA, and the lead was close to 15 points at the end of the day. But she went negative. The 'boon' word that she never used was just a printer error I guess. I'd also think maybe the fact that he's said in interviews one of the reasons he'd make a great president is he's so calm and doesn't get rattled, but he looked pretty rattled when they wanted to ask him more than 8 questions Monday night.

As far as an 'incumbent advantage', I'd like to think it's a big state advantage that he hasn't seemed to be able to break no matter how far along or at what point in the campaign we're at.

3)I'm amazed it was allowed to get to this point. It's one of those things where there are so many people at fault, but who isn't at fault (other than helping to elect these people-but who knew this would happen?) are the 1.7 million that wanted to vote in Florida and the people who wanted to vote in Michigan.

Wvrevy has anyone told you that that smilie that you use is very condescending (sp)...it is very insulting.
But in here it is demeaning to us as you use it after making statements about our chosen candidate.

I have no problem with you coming in here just remember that when you do you will read things you do not like. this is our place to do as such about Obama just as is yours to do about Hillary in the Obama thread and just as it is about both DEM candidates in the conservative thread and just as it is yours in the liberal thread about the conservatives....make sense :thumbsup2

So please no Hillary bashing in here ....Thanks :santa:
That is why I don't even read that thread. But that is there home to do so. As long as they keep it in there and don't bring it here.
That is why I haven't posted there, and in fact I hardly ever read it. I was just there because I was wondering what they think of an Obama/Hilary ticket that was mentioned here. I myself am not too happy with that idea cause I think she should be on top, but the people there are just horrified by it. :confused3

I will say again. Just give them time. They really thought it would all be over by now. It is a hard mental adjustment to make.

I know, there are sooooo many Obama supporters that hate Hillary. They say they will not vote if it comes down to her. That to me is so strange because they keep talking about bringing the people together and that Hillary will bring down the party but to me I keep haring the opposite except for a few that will vote either way.

They seem to be taking Hillary's flyer's sent out as if the flyer had there names on it. Obama no matter what he says is still a politician through and through and so many Obama supporters seem to feel that all the voters are coming out and voting because he asked them to and he is for hope and change ...so they are coming out to vote on that...

Well could it also be possible that the present President has messed us up so bad that they don't want another Pres in there that is calling for a 100 year war and is like Bushybaby??? in addition to the economy being a mess and students not being able to afford collage.

If I was a collage student and someone was offering to give me a $4,000 a year collage credit than I would vote for him also. Hillary is giving a credit also but has not made that statement over and over. Her demographics are towards the older/ middle class working people.

What WVRevy condescending! Who'd have thunk it? :rolleyes1

I'm listening to them talk about the foreclosure problem. My question is the majority of foreclosures are due to people buying homes that they could not afford due to going in on a lower rate for 3 or so years.

so if they loose there homes are they not in the same place they were before buying the home 3 years ago. Many moved from Apt.s to homes over their budgets and saying they would worry about the increase when it came, after all they have 3-5 years to afford it , so they new it was coming :confused3 ....so know they have to move out and move back into apts or rentals of some sort.....

So how does that change anything from 3 years ago. They know can afford where they live. If I had to move into a apt. I would not like it and miss my home but we are still together as a family and you make due.

Mind you I am not talking about the normal amount of people that loose there homes over loosing a job or any other kind of hardship. But they have said that over the last year foreclosures due to buying when not being able to afford went up %57....

I am not trying to be heartless and get the American dream and yes they were taken advantage of...but why are we the ones to pay for there stupidity. That is one thing i do not agree with with Hillary and Obama...

does something need to be done..yes..by lowering all the rates so they can get the mortgage back down... and they did that. Also think that the GOV. could do something that is does not change there credit score so they can in the future save a buy again. But I am tired of seeing people on the TV crying about the lose of there homes and saying..Please help us keep our home.

I say move out take the pressure off of your self and family. The kids don't care where they live as long as they are with you and if you are happy they will be happy. After all it is 4 walls and just material....as sweet as your home is it does not make who you are.

Sorry for ranting it is just my opinion. My friend went through a foreclosure and she is so much happier that she has all that pressure of the last 5 years off there back of wondering when and if they would ever afford to pay for it. They are renting a 3 bedroom house and her DH is glad not to have to any longer pay for the things that break in the house...he says...let the owner do it.:thumbsup2

Its not so much the smiley face it is how you place it after a insulting remark...:teeth: kinda like your saying "In your face with that"..

Maybe you did not realize it and maybe no one has told you but it has been mentioned around town here and there and also on some Pm's that i have received about your remarks and :teeth: in the past.

I am not trying to start an argument with you either :flower3: .

My problem with your post was that I hadn't posted anything insulting, to anyone here or to Hillary. :confused3 I used that smiley twice...once on a somewhat sarcastic comment about the Florida and Michigan elections (only to emphasize that it was posted in jest), and once again when trying not to get into a debate about the Ohio thing because this isn't the proper place for it.

Seriously, you are reading way too much into it. I don't think I've ever used that smiley in the sense that you're suggesting. Hadn't even given it a thought. Trust me...I use sarcasm at times on debate threads, and I'm well aware of it. But this? :confused3

The Obama thread is having a regular Hillary Bash-a-thon. :rolleyes1

I went over to the Obama thread just because I could not help myself...I had a moment of insanity :lmao: ...it was my first time and my last but just had to....man there is a lot of Kool aid drinking in there...sounds like RED BLOOD kool-aid if ya ask me :rotfl:

As I thought...many in there are talking about not voting for Hillary and it is such a nasty thread. We don't even go that far about Obama...and for the most part we will vote for him, not because we like him so much but because it is the right thing to do for our party.

I will bet that it will be the Obama supporters to break apart the party because if they cant have there cake and eat it to than they will do this:snooty: and have none.

Are they not curious at all about what may have gone on about NAFTA and Canada....why have one of your aids go over there and talk NAFTA at such a critical time even if it was not w=hat he said...and why would one of the ambassadors(or who ever ) in Canada say one thing and than have Canada come back and say something else.

If you ask me it did happen and was said ..and Canada did not want any trouble or bad blood between them just in case he does get elected. So best next thing is to stay out of it and deny it ever happened. He even denied the meeting at first.

Also what about this Rezko thing...are they not curious about that. Why if Obama says it is not so they just take him at his word???? If it came out about Hillary I would for sure want to know!!!!

If Hillary gets the nod there will be no living with the Obama supporters...and have no doubt they will just vote McCain for spite to prove a point that she could not win against McCain like to say "Told ya so"......

It will be a mess and I am not looking forward to it. Even if she was behind by 1 delegate and won the OS would be calling Foul play...remember this is just my opinion....

My name is Got Disney and I approve this message :goodvibes

I just tend to ignore posts that I don't agree with. I know that politics is one of those things that people are passionate about and they should be, so it doesn't bother me if their opinions are different. I don't like people who grind their opinions in so much it's grating.

Personally, I don't get too mad about things. I did get upset that Michigan (where I live) did what they did to make things unfair. I'm still learning the process and what happened. If we didn't want votes to count, we should call this a country by another name.

I did finally contribute money to Hillary's campaign. I'm supporting her in every way I know how and the way I can.

Peace Hillary supporters! :hippie:

In all fairness, there was plenty of I'm not voting for Obama if he gets the nomination going on here not very long ago.

True and I thought that was insane too.

Yes there has been and will be... but when you look into the other threads with Obama supporters it is like 4 to 1. :confused3 it is all the Hillary hate...and I mean hate:eek: like a bunch of people in a small town that are running to get there guns and swords and kill the troll....

We dont like Obama as much and has said said as such but it has never been as strong in there. As an Obama supporter you can come in here on more even ground. As a Hillary supporter I would not dare post in the Obama thread as for to have someone say "It's a Hillary supporter so Off with her head" ....

AS I watch all this take place I feel as if we should all be ashamed of our selves and how we are all acting. But when we all believe so passionately it is hard to turn off.

If Hillary gets the nod there will be no living with the Obama supporters...and have no doubt they will just vote McCain for spite to prove a point that she could not win against McCain like to say "Told ya so"......

That is just not true. I would no sooner vote for McCain than I would shoot my husband in the face...and I consider the two to be equivalent since McCain is determined to continue this war until every last soldier is dead.

And I've said that in both of the Dem threads. I have also seen and heard plenty of Clinton supporters saying they won't vote for Obama. Both sides have got to put aside their differences. We cannot lose the general election. Our country is already halfway to hell and we cannot survive four more years of Republican "leadership."

Ultimately, it was the fault of the state parties for screwing things up, but the DNC needs to do some damage control, and helping to fund it would go a long way towards winning back anybody turned off by the seeming lack of concern about their votes within the party.
I heard an interesting take on the Florida situation on the Randi Rhodes show this afternoon. Not only is Florida's legislature overwhelmingly Republican, but Florida's governor is Republican too. Florida's Republican led legislature decided to move the primary date forward. It was tied to adding a paper trail to the electronic voting machines and the Democrats felt they needed to vote for the bill which included both. Any attempts to change the date back to a February date were voted down by the Republicans. I that the Republicans were well aware of what might happen if they moved the Democratic primary ahead and the Democrats really had no choice.

Personally, I want a re-do for both states and that the DNC review the whole primary process.

I have said repeatedly that I will vote for him if he gets the nomination. Something really horrible would have to come out about him to make me turn to the Republican ticket. And even then I'd have to think really hard.

Nothing against McCain. I think he's a good enough person and a war hero...but as I've said before, I don't vote for people because I might like them. I don't like his stand on issues and I don't care for the company he keeps. He scares me. Especially with the 100 years and the "bomb Iran" thing. Besides, I can't imagine voting for a Republican right now. He'd be naming Supreme Court Justices, etc. Huh-uh. :sad2:

Having said that, some of the comments from some of Obama's followers have made me feel like I may have to hold my nose if I have to cast that vote. Not because of Obama himself, but the way his people have talked to me. I have the right to make my choice and I'm not stupid. It's a whole new level of mudslinging and that's just my honest opinion. I'm sick of the "we need to pull our party together" when what many of them really mean is Hillary's people need to roll over and play dead. I can just hear the roars of protest if we suggested the same thing. It's felt very one-sided and I'm tired of it. I can't help but think a lot of it is sexism. :confused3

Let me add....not ALL of Obama's followers have made me feel this way. And it has NOTHING to do with him, but what other Democrats have said to me. It's just not necessary. I can't see why we can't remain civil. We are on the same side.

Personally, I want a re-do for both states and that the DNC review the whole primary process.

I agree. And not because I'm for Hillary. I'd say the same thing if I knew she would lose both states. It's wrong for all those Democrats to not have a say.

:thumbsup2 They knew what they were doing, and Howard Dean played right into their hands.
My big beef is with Howard Dean, Because he totally over reacted and forbade the votes too count.:headache:
