Hillary supporters Unit #3 ..yes we are still here!

Dolce27;27911711Sarah Palin is a conservative and she’s being treated ten times worse than Hillary Clinton was treated. It saddens me to see those of you former HS (that are now OS) who [B said:
know[/B] how one-sided and biased the media can be and how volatile the OS can be in attacks and how much someone can be misrepresented, since we all watched that happen to Hillary, and now you sit back and ignore it as it happens to Palin just because she’s a conservative.
I just want to address this part.

I have defended Palin endlessly. I don't agree with her philosophies and what little I know about her platform but I have continuously argued against the slams and nastiness against her. She doesn't deserve that, no one does.

However, I will not support her and I won't hesitate to say so. We all have that right to agree or disagree with candidates and with each other without being nasty about it.

I wanted to add that the second those who chose to support McCain try to tell those who didn't to not come here, then something is seriously wrong. (And I don't mean you Dolce, which is why I'm posting again.) We can continue to discuss this in a nice, intelligent way or we can eat each other alive.

I do NOT mean Robinb!!!! I don't really mean a particular person, I just see some pushing and shoving, the verbal kind.

ITA...and the HS that are voting Obama should not ask the MS to leave either. This is not the thread to get heated in with each other. We are all under pressure about this election and the Economy crises and the posting that goes on in all theses political threads.

The DIS is not the happy place we once came to....it is full of stress and hate and the political threads have taken over.....

this election IMO cant be over soon enough....and I think with all ...the liberals and Republicans feel the same way.

Hey kids, Whadda did I Miss!popcorn::

DISUNC,
I don't know if you've seen this clip of Biden, but you must check it out. He claims that he goes to local African-American communities trying to convince “black men” to wear condoms. It truly boggles the mind.

http://www.bucksright.com/biden-brags-i-try-to-get-black-men-to-wear-condoms-601

OIY! Words dont come easily out of his mouth do they?

OK, I'm back! So my exile lasted less than 24 hours!

Truth is I had a little talk with DISUNC and a long, nice conversation with Got Disney yesterday and everything is fine with us. I do need a break from political threads, but I keep coming back to this one.

I am a UNITER!:flower3:
:lmao:

I've done research. I've read lots of sources. There is plenty of info out there about Palin's flaws. But interestingly, no matter what sources anyone brings all we get is "I'm willing to to give her benefit of the doubt" or "I don't trust those sources." or "I don't know enough to have an opinion on the matter"

I don't recall any of you giving Obama that "benefit of the doubt" or questioning sources as long as it fit with your view of Obama.

So yes, frankly I think a few of you in here are acting like hypocrites. You're using what happened to Hillary as justification to dismiss any criticism of Palin. As if the fact that she's a woman, automatically demands our loyalty.

I couldn't care less what's between a politicians legs. It's what's between their ears that matters to me.

You truly believe that McCain and Palin are the best candidate? Fine vote for them. Obviously it's your right. But don't drag Hillary's name into it, for PR or some sort of justification.

Even if you think Palin is a perfect candidate. Palin (and McCain's) positions are the antitheses of what Hillary believes in. To use her name to promote McCain's campaign is a slap in the face to her and to those of us who believed in, and fought for her. All you're doing is continuing to villanize her with her party and allow the Repubs to use her to beat up Obama.

You want to beat up on Obama? Go for it. There's plenty out there. But don't use Hillary to do it. Or at least don't patronize me and act like you've got any loyalty left to Hillary. Because the point you applaud that sign, you've lost all credibility.

Kiki

I am NOT dismissing any of the negative Palin stories. at all. But I do take them in stride, since there are so many of them. And frankly most have been debunked. I did give Obama the Benefit of the Doubt. It wasnt until February that i started thing "Wait a minute...this guy is a load"!
And the SAME questions I had about Obama back in December/january I still have today.

The ONLY Woman I ever have to me Loyal too is Dear Ole Mom! ;)

I voted for Obama. I did not like the way Hillary ran her campaign. Period. Neither did the majority. That said, had she been the candidate I would be supporting her 100%..Those of you who are voting for McCain/Palin because Hillary is NOT the candidate were never interested in her values or philosophies . The GOP candidates do not represent the views of Senator Clinton, the candidate you claimed to have been so supportive of.

There is nothing worse, IMO, then fakes. Some of you voted for her strickly because she was a woman, and if she were a mannequin you still would have chosen her. The loss of your votes is no loss at all in my opinion, because you never were Democrats in the first place.
( I am well aware there are exceptions, but none I have seen on here)
If you honestly just didn't like Obama you would not vote at all. You certainly wouldn't campaign for someone who made bombing Iran a song and chose a running mate who doesn't read a newspaper. (and needs to, badly ;) )

You havent paid a bit of attention to any of my posts!
The Democrat party LOST my precious VOTE when they decided that it was perfectly acceptable not to count Florida's & Michigans...and the Democratic Party voters....who indeed voted MORE for Hillary!
To me there is nothing worse than looking "the other way" just so your candidate gets the Nom.
Not counting votes for any reason is a above all a SIN.

Some of us, like me, never claimed to be a Democrat and are Independents. And some of us had already leaned towards McCain before he chose a female running mate. So, sorry, being a woman has nothing to do with it. .

ITA!

I'm not pro-choice either but there are other key issues that I focused on this election.
The fact hat the Aborition issue AGAIN has sneek into a Presidential Election....REALLY PEEVES ME OFF!
The presidency has as much control over this issue as Lenny the Pizza maker in Kalamzoo!

With all due respect, you're wasting your time, Chuck. It boils down to one thing and one thing only: The perception that Hillary got shafted.

Stop right there and it all falls into place.

Carry on.

Not a Perception But a FACT! You have the Perception that Obama WON the primary!

On the job training..Hmmmm Yes, all new Presidents require it. Now tell me..after reading this can you honestly say they are on a level playing field??

What is Barack Obama's education?

He received a B.A. from Columbia University. He later got his law degree from Harvard Law School (where he became the Harvard Law Review's first black president), graduating magna cum laude. Obama was also a lecturer of constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School.

Sarah Plain:

What is Sarah Palin's education?

She received her bachelor's degree in communications-journalism from the University of Idaho and attended the following schools

Hawaii Pacific University (Fall 1982),
North Idaho College (Spring 1983 & Fall 1983),
University of Idaho (Fall 1984 - Spring 1985),
Matanuska-Susitna College (Fall 1985) and
University of Idaho (Spring 1986, Fall 1986 and Spring 1987 ).

YUP! But that is ONE issue! Remember the Smartest people in the world built the most destructive weapon in the world.

My 2 cents!

ANYBODY can post ANYTHING they want! I can choose to anwer them or not!
Me thinks Robin was joking!

It could easily be one and the same, if McCain can't fulfil his term.

Remember, no one voted for Ford, not even as a VP, and he was still President.

I thinl way too much has been made of McCains health & age. He was "certified" by a team of Dr.'s at the Mayo Clinic to be fine.
However ...Obama can be a ticking time bomb for all we know.:confused3

This is what concerns me most about Obama...there is sooooooooooooooo much secrecy.
I am the type of guy who rather KNOW my candidate, even if I dont always agree, then not KNOW.

whatever happened to those Psychics who predicted that Hillary will win???:confused3

I'm confused about this. The only person I saw asking someone to leave the thread was robinb -who's an OS - and she asked a Republican to leave this thread. I guess Got Disney told LuvDuke to go away... But, seriously, does that count? That's nothing new. How many times has LuvDuke previously been asked in some way to leave this thread because of how she acts when she's on here? It's not because she's an OS... it's because she's LuvDuke and has managed to offend most everyone on this thread at some point or another.

Sorry I missed so much activity on this thread. I have to go back and read everything now.

I hope that your not referring to me :confused3 I asked no one to leave...I did tell one of the OS not to bring in her 2 cents of trouble when she told Chuck to leave and not waist his time talking with me. That was LUVDUKE I think...Chuck and a few others came in to discuss things and we did it peacefully....

But i also refuse to be held hostige buy OS that come in here to make trouble...and I will ask them to leave if they are here to do so. Coming in to nicely debate is great.....coming in here to bash me or others is not. They dont want me to come in to there OT and do that either.

Have you read the rolling stone article on Mccain....i am wondering what you thought????

It is hard to say because it is written by a magazine that endorses Obama and hates MCcain....and is not biased...it is hard to believe anything form anybody anymore...about any of the candidates.....

Rolling Stone editor Jann Wenner and the magazine endorse Barack Obama..........http://www.talkleft.com/story/2008/3/6/122832/1553

I'm not slamming Palin on a personal level, but does anyone else find it sort of odd that someone who majored in journalism-communications comes across as...well...unprepared or uncomfortable I guess is the best word...in her interviews with Charley Gibson and Katie Couric?

They must have been terrible Psychics...:rotfl2:

Sometimes I wonder if it was planned. She has done over 20 debates and ground her opponents into the ground.....she is a good debater...and a good speaker on TV. Than all of a sudden she is making these errors that seem out of character. She is not a stupid woman .....on the contrary

We will have to wait to see how she debates Biden. To find out. But I have a feeling she will come out in a way no one expected.

And if she does not than MCcain has no one to blame but himself. There are some good debaters and some not.....and clearly Biden will have the upper hand but she will have to hold her own and at least come out even with Biden....in away that she has answered the questions showing she knows what she is talking about for the most part...just as all the candidates have to do

I should have specified that I didn't mean Robinb either. Robinb is just about the most level-headed person I know. I'll edit.

I just see some sniping about "not bringing that here" or "that kind of talk is not OK here" and it's not coming from OS. It's just worrisome.

Nope, not Robinb and LuvDuke can certainly take care of herself. ;)

It's a general tone of "not wanting to hear that" and "don't bring that here" and it's all from former HS. Maybe it's easier to see the trend when you're not directly involved in the arguing? :confused3

Or maybe I'm just paranoid. ;)
