DH has been a republican since the first time he could vote....he is 53. Every election we vote different and wipe each others votes out. This year he was voting for Hillary. His first time voting Democratic.
He has since changed back to McCain and we will still be voting the same.
I was going into the Conservative thread from the beginning of this election....asking questions and such. They new I was at that time for Hillary or Obama not once was trashed for it....yet the OS trashed me and others that were HS for being HS and not voting Obama....
The OS said more nasty things about Hillary than the McCain supporters did.
They will remain my friends and many of them did not like the way Hillary was treated. They talked about it often during the primaries.
I have no doubt that the conversation would have been mush different if Hillary had won the nomination...no doubt at all.
by the way they did not bash her to death...Bash yes ...again the OS did.
just my 2 cents..... if the primary had been McCain against Hillary to get the nomination, it's probably safe to say that some McCain supporters would have been doing the Hillary bashing.... one side will always attack the other when they are in direct competition (just look at the the anti-McCain/Palin and anti-Obama/Biden threads out there now). So making a decision on who to vote for based on the shabby treatment of a handful of people on an internet messageboard might not be the best course of action. If you've researched both sides and found one candidate's platform/policies fall more in line with your views, then more power to ya.
but I'd have to echo a previous poster in that I'm not sure how McCain's platform is closer to Cinton's platform than she would be to Obama. That being said, I'd be interested to hear your take on why Hillary would fall closer to McCain than she would to Obama.
