Peter, real struggles that men and women overcome to acheive greatness are uplifting and can help other people in similiar situtations. Frodo's challenge is as realistic as the one that hopkins went thru, we all may have to someday dispose of some property, but are unlikely to be going to a arabic country to be involved in a horse race.(granted it is unlikely it will have to be dropped off in a mountain)

I plan on seeing this one but lost out to the majority opening weekend and tossed a few bucks at Stiller and Wilson.

Hidalgo should do fine. It's up against a major film right now with the Passion which was sold out at my theatre again on Sat. night. Does anybody have those numbers?

the Passion was at 214 on Sunday. The twelve day total for RotK was 222. I predicted earlier it would hit 300 by Easter, but I think I underestimated by a large margin.

I am a horse fan, and I thought Hidalgo was good, not great. The cinematography was pretty, but not really anything special. Actually, the whole movie felt kind of predictable.

Now, the Triplets of Belleville - that's a movie! (Unfortuately, not a Disney one!)

i saw hildalgo last night.

Underwhelmed. No way this movie is even in the near vacinity of being nominated for anything at all. Just my opinion of course. Love Viggo but the story had no structure, to much was left up to us to decipher, you never saw why Hidalgo was so special or why viggo was so special. It just didn't have that big punch tp make it spectacular. And the movie is defiantly not for kids.

Hildago was down to fouth place on friday 3/12 with a box office take of 3.4 million and a total so far of 27 mill.So it most surely wont cover its costs in the US market and will have to do so on international take and dvd sales.

yeah i just checked boxoficemojo and ya beat me to the punch. I was happy to see Pasion in #1 still. And was thinkin the only way Hildalgo gets to 100Million is if they leave it in theaters till july

Im also happy to see "Passion" still as number one!!! Nice to see someone be successful when they stand up for their beliefs and dont give into intense pressure!!

Disneys other film in the box office CONFESSIONS OF A TEENAGE DRAMA QUEEN did 25 mil for the weekend....and hildalgo is at 36 and now doin like 1 mil a day
