Highway in the Sky Dine Around with Wishes viewing area

 Oh Happy Day! I was just searching for a dining ressie for next Friday 3/10...Guess what showed up!
Super excited I got an ADR for Highway in the sky...the evening before my birthday!
I'm going solo. Really looking forward to this unexpected surprise.

So Let me ask this...for those that have done it...are ppl dressing up or staying more casual?
Does anyone wear shorts?
At my Highway in the Sky in February, people were not dressed in park clothes. Most men wore polo shirts and khakis and women were either in casual dresses or nice pants and a top. No one was in shorts even though it was close to 80 that day.

As long as my plans don't change, I'll see you there! I'll also be solo. I had planned to go last month but had to cancel a few days beforehand because it didn't work with the rest of my family's schedule. I'm hoping that doesn't happen again, but we'll see. I plan to wear a dress, nothing super fancy but not park clothes, either.

Thanks so much CaliKris. I don't want to be the one to show up in shorts. LOL

We went on Saturday night... great time! My husband and a few others had nice shorts and a golf shirt on. Others were dressed up but it was pretty much casual, not dressy dress.

Are those that want to book only able to get March? I would love to do this in September but it won't open at 180 days, is that correct?
Thank you.

Correct - at this time, it is unknown whether Disney will continue the event beyond March.

2 weeks from today for me. anyone joining us that day?

I asked a CM about that Saturday night. She said they didn't know but if they did they might change the days to Sunday through Thursday. The idea of holding up tables at Citricos on Friday and Saturday nights was the main thing.

For any vegetarians out there, we also had a fun meal last week. The changes we had from everyone else on our night were:
- the appetizers at the Poly: any place others had fish or pork, we had tofu
- at Citricos: we had a quinoa veggie dish, which I wouldn't go back to have any time soon but was tasty and fine

Everything else was the same.
Hope all those with meals coming up have a great time.

We (my adult son and I) were there on Wens. the 8th (I think that was the date, last Wens). We arrived around 4:30 since when they called they said we were leaving at exactly 5 to move on. They started serving around 4:45, the Bay Lake Sunset Cocktail and spring Pea Puree and Truffle Bisque. I got a picture of the drink but my picture of the soup didn't come out. I drank about half my drink and my son finished it for me (that would be the trend for the night) and we both enjoyed the soup.

At about 5 we all walked to the monorail and got on the last two cars and headed for Poly. My picture of the drink didn't come out but here is the appetizer.

On the left is Sesame Crusted Seared Tuna on Cucmber with Creme Fraiches, Micro Cilantro with Balsamic Pearl Garnish on the right is Roasted Beet Salad (gold beets, herb goat cheese, pistachio dust, simple vinaigrette, frisee lettuce, pickles watermelon radish) I didn't get a picture of the Citrus Chile Dusted Pork Belly because my son got that almost as soon as it came out, I don't eat pork belly I'm from the south we season our beans with it. The drink was Hippopotomaitai, basically a maitai. When we got there we got a spiel on the lawn before heading to Trader's Sam from the manager about the Poly, which we found odd.

Moved from there to GF where we had assigned tables. Briased short ribs with Pan Seared Scallops and a wine selection.

The vegetable was pured turnips. I had white wine, my son red. It was pretty good, the beef was tender and even though I'm not a fan of scallops, even I enjoyed one of them.

We moved downstairs to the tea room for the cheese board and Fairy Tale Sparling Wine.

It was good but we got no explanation of what was on the board. My son decided the little round thing in the middle was corn bread, it was a short cake of some sort. We enjoyed all the cheese but we are huge cheese fans.
There was no group picture, we moved back to the CR. Frankly we were unimpressed with this part and I got a regular cup of coffee, my son got the spiked coffee, neither one of us got dessert. It was Organic Chocolate Flourless Cake and Blood Orange Cake. We watched the fireworks but you couldn't really hear the music and we were ready to leave before they ended because it just wasn't that impressive as it is when you are in the park. As we left we got a little box of truffles. We opened them later while we were sitting at the bar at BW (drank coffee my son had a drink), I took a bite out of each and wasn't impressed but I'm not a huge sweet fan. My son gave his box to a lady sitting at the bar with her husband.

So our over all impression was it was nice, something we don't regret doing but we won't do it again. It was worth the cost for us and they made it clear at the very beginning you only got what they served, if you wanted another drink or or more food, you had to pay for it. Since I didn't drink but half of my drinks and didn't even eat all the food they had, we were good with what was served. It was well organised and flowed smoothly.

There are times --not available to book yet--showing up for end of April/May/June

Will be curious since it's really a new season if any of the menu items will change.

I had never heard of this before now! Sounds like a really nice evening. I'll have to see if my husband is up for it. Does this book up quickly? We will be there May 9-16, wondering if j should make a decision for him

The first go round of when it started through March booked up very quickly, virtually selling out. Of course there ended up being some cancels but they immediately got picked up. I would decide asap.

The two dates that would really work and fit in with our plans are April 30th or May 1st.

The two dates in that period that are not available are April 30th and May 1st.

Balls.

I guess someone somewhere is giving me a sign. We'll go to the pub instead. :)
