DH & I are booked May 2nd also!
We're Ed and Liz from CT.![]()
I'm confirmed for May 5, but there is definitely something goofy going on. I was charged $150 plus tax, gratuity included. The price on MDE now is $160. It seems no one is able to make reservations now.Wait has this sold out for every day already? Im finding nothing.
Update - I think something is wrong because i called Disney Dining and she said that they dont have anything on the calander past March.
I did the Dine around on March 10th, the night before my birthday. It was so awesome. I highly recommend this event.
It was really wonderful.
Most of my group were couples, I think there were only 2 singles, myself included.
Everyone that I met was super nice. The Cast Members escorting us around were really great!
We started off at the Contemporary with Pea soup and a Bay Lake Sunset drink.
I believe it is a drink that is only offered in the Top of the World Lounge in Bay Lake Tower.
Then we moved to the Poly outside at Trader Sam's. There was a performer playing the Ukulele.
The tables were high tables and we stood around them.
There were not assigned spots, so you could stand with whomever you wanted.
I shared a table with a couple from the UK and they were so nice and ALOT of fun.
We had a Hippopotmaitai and 3 small appetizers. Golden Beet Salad, Seared ahi tuna, and Pork Belly.
The Beet salad and seared Tuna are things that I normally would not eat but they were so good!
They were small bites similar to an Amuse Bouche.
The Pork Belly was amazing and I think everyone's favorite.
Then we moved to Citricos for the main meal, The tables were ready, and we were split up into groups.
They already had us separated, they called out the names for each table. I really liked this because you didn't know who you would be seated with and got to meet and talk with different people. I was seated with 3 other couples. We had bread service & you could choose a glass of white or red wine. For dinner we had Beef short rib and scallops. Wow so delicious! The folks I was seated with were all so nice.
Then we moved downstairs to the Garden View Tea room for champagne and Cheese Course.
There were 4 cheeses with accompaniments. They were Brie, Goat Cheese, Gruyere, and Blue Cheese.
Here is where is got a bit awkward.
They seated me at a table by myself...Imagine my horror.
I started to eat my cheese and drink my champagne, feeling really uncomfortable and awkward.
So I read the menu that accompanied the cheese
After about 5 minutes, one of the CM's came over and said these 2 couples seated over there would like for you to come and join them, so I did.
They were 2 of the couples I was seated with for dinner. They were shocked that I was seated by myself.
So in the end it worked out ok.
Then we moved to the Contemporary for 2 desserts and a selection of things to drink...coffee, tea, coffee with baileys, soft drinks, water.
Again I shared a table with the couple from the UK.
For those of us Celebrating birthdays (there were 3 of us) the CM's also gave us a cupcake with a candle!
We all watched Wishes...some of us cried (me included)
On the way out they gave us a box with 2 chocolate truffles.
They offered us water frequently during the journey.
We had 4 full size alcoholic beverages, and the first 2 we had to drink them pretty fast.
All in all it was a really spectacular evening. I took some pictures with the couple from the UK.
Sorry I don't know how to post pics on here. I have a bunch on my phone.
I would love to share my pics.
I enjoyed reading your report, and appreciate your posting it. I am considering going solo when I am down at WDW at the end of April for my birthday but had wondered what it would be like solo. Guess it all depends on the mix, but good to hear your experience. I do have some friends who went last night and they loved it!
