We are back from 9 days in Paris! Had a great 6 day in Paris followed by 4 days at DLP...

Highs:
-Park was beautiful!! I loved that it was not huge :)
-Many rides did not have too bad a wait, but we did use fast pass a lot
-Cast members--sure there was not much of people wishing us a magical day but when it counted they were terrific--my sister had fallen and hurt her leg on the second day there and she could barely walk. We were lent a wheelchair from Disneyland hotel but she still could barely walk from the chair to get on the ride --at Storybook land she could not get on the boat-so decided not to do it--one of the CM's said that it would be a pity for her to miss it so said they would help lift her onto the ride. So she was able to do it. Lots of CM really helped us get her from chair to ride etc. Also, we were given at guest assistance card. The way it worked was I waited with her at the handicap entrance and DH and DD waited in line. When they were ready to board, we joined them. For Phantom Manor however we just had to ride without them since we entered at the end and missed the stretching room and they went through the whole (wonderful) attraction.
-Disneyland hotel--Cant beat being at the entrance! One day we did not get our room cleaned though and one night we did not get turn down service.
-Dreams was beautiful--had some elements from The Magic the Memories and You from WDW
-Food --was goodactually . We enjoyed Cafe Mickey, Restaurant Des Stars and Walt's. For CS, Hakuna Matata was good. We ordered a cake for DD at Cafe Mickey and Mickey came over with her cake!
-Big Thunder -- like it better than the one in the states
-EZ SHuttle-booked private transfer from Paris to DLP and from DLP to CDG airport. Would definitely use them again. Definitely recommend.

Lows:
-My sister falling in the Studios. Her shoulder was visibly dislocated and a guest ran up to us and helped her reduce it (he was a surgeon)> We did not realize then that she had hurt her knee so badly (she fractured her patella). She sat on the ground for quite a while and not even one CM came by.
-Studios--Not much there. Plus we planned to go there early one day and do Crush's Coaster but it was closed and didnt open until the afternoon. We did not get to ride it :(
-Not going on Indiana Jones :( MY daughter had a meltdown when we tried to leave her with my sister despite us telling her beforehand that she was too small for the ride.
-The line cutting and general lack of manners of many of the guests. That being said, we did run into some lovely people.
-Dirty bathrooms--I did see them being cleaned a bit and they would be nice and clean then but I think a major problems is the way the guests use the bathroom--they leave a mess!
-the drinks--we did not find any great cocktails. Even the blue glowtini was not as good--luckily my DH makes them at home!

Overall, I wish I could go again but the plane ticket to Paris is too much (although with the growing cost of a WDW vacation, may have to assess which is cheaper ! :rotfl::rotfl: ) . Anyways, thanks for all the tips!! Let me know if you have any questions!

Aww your poor sister how is she now? How lovely of the man coming to help.

I've heard of cm not helping with things like this before which is very sad!

I'm glad you had a good experience overall with the parks, restaurants and dlh!

R u going to do a tr?

Welcome back! So sorry to hear about your sister though, I hope she is recovering or at least receiving treatment now. I suppose the only consolation was that it happened after the Paris part of your trip. At least in the park there are wheelchairs available and disabled access to rides. Paris would have been very difficult to see and do.

Did you complain about your room not being cleaned? We had this once and they sent someone from housekeeping straight up. It is a nuisance if you want your room though.

Glad you found the park beautiful too. Hope the weather was kind to you.

Hope you sister gets better soon.:goodvibes

:goodvibesHow lovely to see a trip with so many highs. Really sorry to hear that your sister hurt herself and no CMs came to help though.:confused3 I hope she is recovering now.

It sounds like for the most part you had a great trip:goodvibes

So sorry about your sister though, I hope she mends soon! And what a shame no CM's came to help when the accident happened.

My son tripped over a curb and went flying in May and the CM that was working at the popcorn stand came sprinting over to see if he was ok, helped me pick him up and carry him to a bench. He then returned with a free souvenier popcorn bucket and popcorn, a coke and an icecream!!

Oh no, I hope your sister is well on the road to recovery. Sounds like she had a nasty fall. Bit of luck a surgeon was close by to help, sorry to hear no CMs helped though. We found the 1st aid CMs to be lovely on our trips that we had to go visit them.

Great to see that otherwise you had a fantastic trip. Would also love to read every detail in a TR :goodvibes:thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing

Sounds like a great trip, we were at Disneyland Hotel early in June and on one day we had no maid service either.
On another they knocked on the door, were about to enter at 9pm at night to ask if beds were okay.
Reply "fine thanks, Joshua is already asleep in one"!

I had just returned from the bar. ;)

Sounds like a good holiday despite your sisters fall! pity you didn't like the glow tini......have to say I loved it! Weird missing out in maid service? hope your sister is on the mend! X

Sounds like a lovely trip overall. It's a shame your sister was injured, hope she's feeling better now

I agree that most of the mess is created by the guests who visit, which is a shame and ruins the area for everyone.

So nice to hear your highs :goodvibes

Sorry to hear about your sister falling and injuring her shoulder/knee and that there wasn't anyone to help! :( Though it sounds like the ride CMs were quite good with getting her on to rides? Hope she gets better soon!

We called and asked for clean towels and shampoo, but did not want anyone to actually clean at that point. My family wanted to rest by then. We handed them thetrash when they came and they did come for turndown later that night... They did skip us for turndown the night before though!

Not sure if I will do a trip report--maybe will try to do a quick one.. She is getting much better--her knee is much less swollen. She is using a crutch to walk--it really helps her and also prevents crazy New Yorkers from running her over!
