We are back from 9 days in Paris! Had a great 6 day in Paris followed by 4 days at DLP...
Highs:
-Park was beautiful!! I loved that it was not huge
-Many rides did not have too bad a wait, but we did use fast pass a lot
-Cast members--sure there was not much of people wishing us a magical day but when it counted they were terrific--my sister had fallen and hurt her leg on the second day there and she could barely walk. We were lent a wheelchair from Disneyland hotel but she still could barely walk from the chair to get on the ride --at Storybook land she could not get on the boat-so decided not to do it--one of the CM's said that it would be a pity for her to miss it so said they would help lift her onto the ride. So she was able to do it. Lots of CM really helped us get her from chair to ride etc. Also, we were given at guest assistance card. The way it worked was I waited with her at the handicap entrance and DH and DD waited in line. When they were ready to board, we joined them. For Phantom Manor however we just had to ride without them since we entered at the end and missed the stretching room and they went through the whole (wonderful) attraction.
-Disneyland hotel--Cant beat being at the entrance! One day we did not get our room cleaned though and one night we did not get turn down service.
-Dreams was beautiful--had some elements from The Magic the Memories and You from WDW
-Food --was goodactually . We enjoyed Cafe Mickey, Restaurant Des Stars and Walt's. For CS, Hakuna Matata was good. We ordered a cake for DD at Cafe Mickey and Mickey came over with her cake!
-Big Thunder -- like it better than the one in the states
-EZ SHuttle-booked private transfer from Paris to DLP and from DLP to CDG airport. Would definitely use them again. Definitely recommend.
Lows:
-My sister falling in the Studios. Her shoulder was visibly dislocated and a guest ran up to us and helped her reduce it (he was a surgeon)> We did not realize then that she had hurt her knee so badly (she fractured her patella). She sat on the ground for quite a while and not even one CM came by.
-Studios--Not much there. Plus we planned to go there early one day and do Crush's Coaster but it was closed and didnt open until the afternoon. We did not get to ride it
-Not going on Indiana Jones
MY daughter had a meltdown when we tried to leave her with my sister despite us telling her beforehand that she was too small for the ride.
-The line cutting and general lack of manners of many of the guests. That being said, we did run into some lovely people.
-Dirty bathrooms--I did see them being cleaned a bit and they would be nice and clean then but I think a major problems is the way the guests use the bathroom--they leave a mess!
-the drinks--we did not find any great cocktails. Even the blue glowtini was not as good--luckily my DH makes them at home!
Overall, I wish I could go again but the plane ticket to Paris is too much (although with the growing cost of a WDW vacation, may have to assess which is cheaper !
) . Anyways, thanks for all the tips!! Let me know if you have any questions!
