Highly unorthodox ? about another cruise line

DCL does not need to lower prices. They have 2 ships booked far in advance. RCCL has 5 Voyager class ships, along with a dozen other ships to fill. THAT'S why you they're less expensive. Supply and demand. That's exactly why DCL needs to step up their pace and get more ships built.

I really think many people get hung up loving or hating a particular cruise line based on one experience, and many times that experience was a 2nd hand or 3rd hand story.

This is the best way I can summarize. Virtually all short cruises (3-4 days) are party cruises to the Bahamas or Mexico. They are cheap which draws a lot of people who want 3 days to party hard, and do it on the cheap. THIS IS WHERE CARNIVAL got it's bad reputation. But they're not alone, the RCCL and NCL that run these short cruises are the same way. Finally...all these lines use their oldest ships for these short cruises.

You have to understand that's really where Carnival and even cruising in general got a bad reputation. If you want a 7-10 day cruise, you can't go wrong with any of the major cruise lines and their newer ships. There are differences, of course. Personally, I think Princess is under-rated. Their ships are beautiful, service outstanding, and similar to Disney in the "touch of clss" type of environment.
