Yup! We meet in Study hall, DH flew over a paper airplane with a small note on it...Sounds corny I know, but one of the best days of my life even if he did almost poke my eye out!!!!!
My husband and I met when he was 13 and I was 14. We went to different schools, but we started going "steady" a year or so later. We have been married for 33 years
He was the only real boyfriend I ever had. He took me to my Homecoming Dance and Senior Prom. He is the one.

I don't know whether to be scared or relieved. My son (almost 14) has been "dating" a girl for over six months. They seem so well fitted for eachother and I love her to death. She's a good influence on him so I wouldn't mind her for a daughter in law, but yikes!.
Dating in my teens and early 20s was a blast. Some of my best memories.
I don't think I would've been happy in a marriage with my high school sweetheart - he's a lovely man, now a cardiology resident at U. Chicago and destined for greatness - but his goals are SO different from mine. That being said, I absolutely don't regret dating him! It was one of the best things to ever happen to my confidence.
DH and I met in Feb. of my Junior year of High School;DH Senior year. We will be celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary in June.
We have a soon to be 16 year old son and it's funny how my views on this have changed.
When I was in high school I went out with groups of people. I dated alot of guys but mostly just to go out. Everyone did. I can't even wrap my head around not dating unless you are looking for a spouse. Imagine telling a 17yr old she can't get a date for prom unless he is spouse material.
The poll numbers seems strange to me. In my own real life, I only know 3-4 couples who were high school sweethearts. The great majority of people from my graduating class who did end up marrying their high school sweetheart ended up divorced.
Most of my friends met their spouses during their college years.
