High School Musical

I heard on the WDWToday podcast that there will be a HSM show in Tomorrowland for the Year of a Million Dreams. I don't know when it's starting though.

That would so make my dreams come true! I am also a big HSM fan! I just got a HSM shirt at Limited Too the other day (even though I'm 17 haha). I just love the show. As a future musical theatre major, maybe after I get my equity card, I could audition for the show. Sorry, just a little excited! :dance3:

This is called the HSM Pep Rally. HSM was one of their more popular made for TV original movies.

Oh, my DD's will be soooooo excited. They both just love HSM. We had the DVD the day it came out, and the CD too!!

:rotfl: . Mary Bradford High School in Kenosha, Wisconsin has already done a one-act demo for the show through special MTI permission, and Green Valley High School in Henderson, Nevada is doing the show for its off-Broadway premiere this spring. These are two of those BIG theatre schools (International Thespian Society hotshots) who get asked by Music Theatre International to do their premieres.

Makes you jealous, huh? :confused3 :teeth: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

when we were at WDW in APril we were getting ready to ride TOT. THere were some teens ahead aof us, a little rowdy but not too bad. THey were wanting to ride together, understandable, but being polite. Next thing we know, here come two of those "handlers" in the plaid vests. They ushered them to another waiting elevator an they rode together. We boarded and rode our car, the ngot off to look at the photo. The teens were ahead of us. Older DD got this strange look on her face as they went out a side door, I swear, she looked like one of those old cartoons where the neck stretchedout 2 feet ! SHe looks at me and says , "it's them!" Took me a minute to realize she meant the kids from HSM, then I realized why they looked so familiar to me. Turns out they were there to officially open Expedition: Everest. Too bad we missed the photo op. :(

This is from Mouse Planet:

The High School Musical Pep Rally will feature the East High Spirit Committee teaching guests cheers and dance moves from High School Musical's songs, and everyone will get to participate in a finale version of "We're All in This Together."

The street show is currently casting and is set to premiere I think in October...don't quote me though!!!!

anyone know if this will last untill the next year? we won't be going untill 03/08.
maybe dm and i can sneak a trip in before then.....

:faint: :hyper: Holy crap!! I am so excited!!! My DH is going to want to gouge his eyes out, but I am definately making him go with me. :) I admit it, I did the learn the dance moves on the special features and I won't be afraid to do it in the park either! I'm pretty much a 10 year old trapped in a 20 something body.

My 14 yr. old will be thrilled!!! We were going to skip MK this trip, but I guess we may have to change that plan!!!!

My 2 DD's love the movie. And they freaked out when they learned that Ashley Tisdale is from our town. My older DD saw her perform when she did a show recently in our town. Her aunt still lives here.

We were just at the parks and hoping to find some HSM stuff (shirts, etc.). We did see the DVD everywhere, as well as sheet music and a book based on the musical story. I'm surprised Disney is not taking advantage of the popularity of this movie with more merchandise.

Exactly. This is their biggest original movie for the Disney Channel in a long time.

::waves goodbye to Tomorrowland::

They merchandised the heck out of it already. Two CDs, the DVD, the novel, other books, etc. There's not much you can do with non-animated features that would appeal to kids.

There is a park quest for HSM at MK. I'm not exactly into the whole virtual Disney thing (nor do I completely understand it) but I do know you can get cards for completing the park quest.

DD8 and I will be doing this next month...anything HSM will thrill her, especially if it's something none of her friends have yet!

It was mentioned that chances are it would be in Disney MGM.
Due to its popularity & how much money that movie made for Disney, I think a show would be a great idea.
My 2 DD's ages 5 & 8 know the movie, the songs & dances by heart !!
I like it too !! :cheer2:

Not true, so far this year I have had requests for High School Musical Backpack and lunch box, clothing (which they have a little at Limited Too), and a Halloween Costume, and this is just the beginning.
