High School Musical-ticket links,reviews & other information - HSM

I just came on to see how the 1st concert was.....I guess no one went yet?

We will be at the show on Dec. 1st in San Jose. I am taking my DS who is 10, one of his friends that is a girl who is 11, and my two 7 year old nieces.

It is an early Christmas gift for my nieces. I wrote out three clues and made them guess what they were doing. Inside the box was a T-shirt that I bought at Kohl's and the answer. We are doing pizza for dinner and after the show my nieces are coming back with us for a sleepover. They are way excited and I hope we have a great time. I will pop in on Saturday after they go home and give a review! :thumbsup2

I had posted that I won tickets from Ticketmasters auction for row 10 from stage floor. Well, we decided that the price was just too much for us right now and I had to give the tickets up and they resell them. I just couldn't afford $80/ticket for 4 of them. I was sad because I knew my son would love it. Oh well. But everyone please let us know how the show went.

:thumbsup2 we got fourth row center for the minimum bid!!!! :thumbsup2

DD is going to be so happy!!!! :wizard:

can't wait to hear about it from those of you who go soon!!!!! :sunny:

We got 7th or 8th Row Center(depending on how you count them) for my DD(This is her birthday/Christmas/& birthday party) & two of her friends.

agnes!

So, did anyone go to the San Jose show last night? How was it????

I was at the San Jose show last night. I took dd and dd's best friend (for her friend's birthday) More than I would normally do for a birthday :rotfl2: but our families are very close. Friend's b-day is today (12/2)

I bought my tickets off Ebay on Tuesday, $250 for 3 seats, on the floor, 11th row. Only about $40 more than if I bought on Ticketmaster myself.

Jordan Pruitt was the preshow, from maybe 7-7:25 or so. She kind of screwed up.....kept saying "I'm so glad to be in San Diego" (where she was Wednesday night). Gave me a chuckle.....

I have never seen the movie, but the show was cute. Lasted about 1 1/2 hours. Dd and her friend liked it.

What I liked was that the "extra" girl dancers were not sticks.....they had hips, ****s, and upper arms. Certainly not fat, by any means at all, but not anorexic. Dd is very aware of all that, as is her girlfriend, so I thought that was good.

T-shirts were $30 and $35 and posters $10.

It certainly was a splurge, but I don't regret it.

Oh well, I'm so surprised that the concert in Philly, PA is SOLD OUT!!!

And just don't get it --- only one show??????

Certainly no guarantees, but for the show here some of the resale tickets early on went for big bucks, but the last couple of days (our show is tomorrow) people have been dumping tickets on e-bay for at, or even below, face value.

I love watching folks who were obviously out to make a killing re-selling tickets for exorbitant amounts take it in the shorts and lose money on them instead.
:lmao:

Of course it may be more popular where you are. But it's worth a try.

I got tickets for dd7 and I as one of her xmas gifts. It will be at the Nassau Coliseum here on LI on 12/31 - I paid $150 for two tickets through ticketmaster. DD is a big HSM fan, she should be very excited on christmas morning

Thanks for the review!! I'm looking forward to it.

I did look at some of the brokers to see the tickets were and I was :rotfl2: that some were listed for only $30.00 to the shows coming up soon.

Chicago is "sold out" too but honestly if you want tickets you can get them. TONS are around. Channel 5 did say if you wait long enough the price can come down because people are trying to dump tickets left & right. I wasn't the only one griping about this, it made news here.

Serves them right to lose money on this when there are tons of families that wanted to go but couldn't get tickets the DAY (for that matter within the first hour) went on sale due to everyone who planned to make a mint getting them first and charging outrageous prices.

I was there, too, w/ DD(8), her best friend & best friend's mom. I LOVED it. Loved the energy & choreography. I thought Lucas did a great job. So much fun I wish we could go again. Everyone whose shows are coming up... you are in for a treat!!! :thumbsup2

uh oh - not good news about the tickets - I bought tickets and then decided to do the auction to get closer, so now I have the first set of tickets that I was hoping to pass on at cost.....hope I can at least get my money back!!!!

thank you all who have seen this for reporting!!!!

I am so happy to read the good reviews! After going to the Cheetah Girls concert, I was expecting the worst!!!! Good to know that we are in for a treat!

We were at Sn Jose and I wrote a pm to another mom but here is my review.......

Okay here is the scoop!

Our concert was supposed to start at 7. They had an opening act that came on at about 7:15. It was Jordan Pruitt. The kids seemed to know who she was. She sang about 3 of her songs off the album and then did a "We are Family" cover and they kids were super pumped up. She was done about 7:40 or so and then the lights came back on and we waited. The concert was sold out so no one really moved. The whole time we were waiting they had Disney Channel videos on. The kids were all singing along and dancing.

The "real" concert started at 8. They came out and did a big number and then the guy who is Sharpay's (ashley tisdale) brother in the movie was kinda the mc. for the night. He talked the most and introduced all of the kids, band, dancers etc. They did the songs from the movie and then they did a set from Ashley Tisdale, Monique Coleman came out and did a dance ala Dancing with the Stars, Corbin Blue did a 3 song set and Vanessa Hutchins did a three song set too. In between the showcases songs from the movie were done. They ended with "We're all in this together" and it was wrapped up by 9:30!!!

We were on the upper leval of the arena and very happy with our seats. They had 3 huge video screens and the kids were able to see everything!!!!

The merchandise is a killer!!!! The prices I can remember are:

Program $20
poster $10
T-shirt $35-50
Hoodie $55
lanyard $10
key chain $8

Definately walk around the arena some of the girls had an Ashley Tisdale t-shirt (the mom said a bargain at $30!) and some other girls had an autograph picture of Jordan Pruitt that some guy was handing out. I had bought the girls T-shirts at Kohls and they were just as happy wearing them. I noticed in today's ad Mervyn's has the HSM shirts at 50% off. A ton of the kids were wearing shirts that they bought from somewhere else.

We had a really good time.

Thanks for the reviews. We are going on DD's b-day on Jan. 14.

That Jordan girl opened for the Cheetah Girls in Cleveland too. SHe was cute, but I wonder if we will have her again in Cleveland.

The prices seem to be the same as the Cheetah Girls too. DD already has a couple HSM Ts so I am hoping not to buy any.

Were they selling the glow sticks and what color were they?

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the reviews. I am happy that this thread is still going.

Thanks from me as well, to everyone for their "HSM"/Concert 'trip reports', the show sounds like it will actually be *good* :woohoo: . I especially appreciate the price list for the souvies :thumbsup2 . That's a big help with planning on how much $ to bring. (Thank you Thumpersmom!) Oh, and kudos to the posters who mentioned buying your own "HSM" shirts before and then wearing the shirts to the concert. I never would have thought of that! And I just bet the Kohl's shirts are better-quality than the auditorium ones.
Btw, I'm in sort of the same boat as you, pansmermaidzlagoon - I ended up with two extra floor seats for the DC show on the 28th, so now I have to figure out what to do with them :confused3 .

agnes!

Yep, the T-shirts etc. are expensive, but I think they all say 'concert tour' prominently on them and many have all the tour stops, etc. on the back. So they do have that added coolness factor.
I know I'm a sucker for that. I don't even want to think how many shirts I have around here from concerts, musicals, etc. :rolleyes1

I know our show was never a complete sell out, but the only tickets left through ticketmaster were way up in the rafters. So I was kind of surprised to see empty seats scattered throughout the arena. Not a ton, but a few here and there. Some were even fairly close seats on the floor. The two seats right next to us stayed empty all concert.

I listed my extra tickets on e-bay and they sold quickly - but I put a buy it now price that was just under what I paid.

I know some folks did pay crazy prices though. I was talking to one lady in the merchandise line who told me she paid $350+ per ticket (and I saw her down on the front row with a bunch of little girls standing right in front of her at the rail all concert)
Of course she also told me that the only venue she could find front row Cheetah girls concert tickets for (again at an exhorbitant price) was out of state, so she and her daughter flew there just for the show.

Hmm... Disney Channel concert groupies. Who knew? ;)

DIS Green and $5!!!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm actually thinking of making shirts up for DD & her friends and I kept thinking "I wonder if she would wear DIS green?" I'm sure she wouldn't though for this. Just not her style.
