I agree that is how it should be. When tickets went on sale here in Milwaukee my MIL and I stood in line at a ticketmaster for 2 hours before the sale started. We were second in line. By the time it was our turn the tickets were gone! And we were SECOND IN LINE! Not only were we disapointed, but so were the 15 or so people in line behind us. My guess is that ticket brokers snatched them up which I don't agree with. If you look online they're selling them for outragious prices.

:thumbsup2 I agree with this...it's so annoying...I have an evil side which wishes no one would pay the $400 - $900+ they are asking for the premium tickets for the Chicago show and even though it's supposedly sold out (it's not if you look at the tickets available on-line, no one is going to actually BE there, it seems they all just bought tickets to sell with no intention of actually going to the show. Kind of stinks for all the 7 & 8 year old who wanted to go), that the brokers take a HUGE loss on the tickets but that's my fantasy world and won't happen because there will be people out there willing to pay it.

I wasn't able to get all the tickets I wanted, so we ended up split up across the arena with a 2/3 split -- so at least we could have an adult with each group of kids, however, my DD wanted to invite 3 friends but wasn't able to due to no way to get tickets altogether. I did end up paying about $100 for tickets to get at least in the same section as two I have & providing I didn't get scammed and actually get tickets (since I don't have tickets in hand yet, I'm not even sure about that and makes me nervous in general anyway), I will have 3 extra but I really don't want to sell them just for spite because I'm annoyed at the way the whole thing was set-up. The brokers were already selling tickets before they even went on sale, so you know they got an "in" somehow and general public didn't have a decent chance. I would rather find a different way to deal with my tickets if I end up with extra.

Just had to follow up and post my (slightly odd) ticket experience this weekend. Thanks to this thread (thanks, thanks, thanks!!!) I was able to get the password for our Friday presale for the Palace of Auburn Hills, Michigan. My dh and I were both online to get tickets as soon as presale opened at 10 am and I got upper bowl middle of arena, row, 3, he got upper bowl, back of arena, row 17. There was a 6 ticket per household maximum, we had been hoping for 8 to go with another family but I bought the 6 since my seats were better than dh's. My entire transaction was completed at 10:04 am, and I got upper bowl?!!? I just didn't get it. I kept checking the rest of the day and never saw anything but upper bowl seats. The friends we had planned to go with ended up buying 4 tickets in the section next to ours, 10th row, around 11:30 am, so that was lucky, we figured we would be able to find someone who would take the extra 2.
I read here that some people were having better luck at the general sale so I logged in today at the opening sale time of noon and my first search pulled tickets on the main floor, but about 28 rows back. I figured my kids would never be able to see a thing but if I could get lower bowl I would order under my mom's name, so I immediately started searching again and couldn't get anything except two seats at the back of the upper bowl. Since then, I can't get anything at all. Could it have sold out that fast? It kind of makes me wonder how anyone gets good tickets to anything, or if the only people who do are willing/able to pay huge prices to scalpers and brokers. And if I was buying at presale, where had all the tickets gone? Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to have what I have, but I just don't understand the situation.

I agree with the recent posters....it's so frustrating!! My sister and I were ready for the presale on Friday right at 10:00 for Connecticut. We needed 7 tickets total, but with a 6 ticket limit, we just tried for 3 and 4. I got section 202 row A at 10:01 and decided to just take them because I was worried I would not get better. I was getting some on the floor, but did not take them because I figured my kids would not be able to see and would complain if they had to stand up the whole time :confused3 I thought I at least would have gotten something in the lower section.

Very annoying when you look at the auctions on ebay for this show. There is one seller who has two sets of three tickets with starting bids of $275 and buy it now prices of $475!! This is a profit of $200-$600 !! :sad2: And she/he has the nerve to put in her description "I know how much my kids love this show, I'll be there. I spent so much time trying to get these tickets." Hmm, let's see, she/he has at least 3 tickets for themself and at least 2 kids. Yet, out of the goodness of their heart, is willing to part with the other 6 tickets they worked so hard to get! Thanks for doing the rest of us the favor!!

Sorry, I know I sound bitter. :rolleyes1 I'll go back to my corner and pout now :guilty:

LBurg93 & DashMom

Thanks for all of the information...we were able to get tickets via the internet during the presale on Friday.

It will be a great Christmas gift for the kids!

Thanks to all of you on this thread. With your help we were able to give our daughters a great Christmas present! I am wrapping two HSM shirts from Macy's in a box with a copy of the cover from the CD to make an invitation for them. I am putting it from Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa for my daughters to come and see them in concert!! I don't know who will be more excited, me or them!!!
Thank you everyone!!!

Does anyone know if Pittsburgh is sold out?? Just for the heck of it I went in today to find tickets and nothing was coming up unless it was for one seat.

I ended up with pretty good seats. Floor seats-section 2-row N. I bought 6 seats but now I ended up with 2 or 3 extra tickets. I have a friend that was going to go with us but now she thinks she has to work.
I thought about selling them on Ebay, but I don't think I want to do that until I have the tickets in my hand. And I agree with the outrageous prices people are trying to sell them for. Yes, I would like to make a little extra on mine but I'm not that greedy!!

I just hope my 6 year old can see the show when it starts.

Hi Everyone,

I am glad this thred helped so many of you. I think it stinks that ticketmaster is, almost acting like a ticket broker, in doing these auctions. For NJ, to get prime row is now at minimum $290 bid. Is that crazy. Do they think the normal people can just shell out that kind of cash. Can you imagine if you were a family of 4 doing this. It's just nuts.

This thread has been great.

The auctions are crazy but all the fees are crazy too. For our family of 4 to go it was close to $300 for this.

I second that motion...we paid a total of $274.30 for 4 tickets. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:
Breakdown:
$56.50/ticket
$2.00 facility fee/ticket
$9.30 convenience charge/ticket
$3.10 order processing fee

But I hope it's an enjoyable show and that all of the kids attending have a great time! party:

Took a look at the PreSale, didn't like the seats being offered.
Went online and also phoned on the first Public Sale day, got two Floor Seats for DD & I, Great Seats, right?

*Well*, DD comes home this past week very upset because of some somewhat(now-former?) friends' behavior, had been planning her birthday thing with a lot of them invited but now just wants to do something small in numbers like perhaps take 1 or 2 to a concert/play, maybe HSM?...

Ack, prices insane, looking impossible.
Plus some extended-family stuff (that we just got mixed up in) to go along with all the friend "fun"...*sigh*.

Folks, check out the prices in cities other than your own. It's interesting the price sprad for similar seats in the different cities. The Orlando/Tampa auctions actually look pretty good...hmmmm, Florida *AND* HSM tickets...
Nawwwww, just dreamin'.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Hmmm...that would be interesting...wonder if I could convince my DH that we need to go to Florida to see HSM and while we are there....all for DD's 13th birthday. For some odd reason, I don't think he would bite...nice to dream about though. :wizard:

I know supposedly the one in WI isn't quite as crazy as the one in Chicago but I just am not comfortable being responsible for other than my own minors across state lines.

I hope everyone is being able to get some for of tickets. I can't wait to hear from those of you that are going to the first ones how it is.

our auction goes up $10 every day - and it is early. I wonder if my $70 bid will get pushed out completely...at least we have the seats I purchased.....

:wizard:

Okay, the auction ended on ticketmaster today and I won my tickets for Milwaukee. Whew. I was nervous toward the end cause I refused to raise my bid. I ended up getting 4 seats (isle) 10th row from center stage . With the price of tickets and fees it came out to $324.50. Thank you so much to everyone who helped me out. I appreciate it so much. I cannot wait to see the look on my sons face when we tell him where we're going on his birthday! Thanks again.

That is a great idea!!! I hope you don't mind if I borrow it! I just won an auction today for CA (row 16) (BTW- row 1 went for like $350/ea! That's crazy!!)

I agree - I don't know who will be more excited! I'm excited now thinking about the expression on my DD's face when she opens up the present!

For those still needing tickets - keep checking the brokers - the prices will go down as you get closer to the concert date -

Congrats to all of you who won your auction. I will update the prices probably over the weekend. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

We'd all love to know how it was.

I's also like to chime in that I think it is disgraceful that ticketmaster auctions off the closest seats! I noticed the ones in Hartford are now $200 for front row. we're in the middle of section 6, and I noticed the front of my section starts at $70. Otherwise, the show seems to be sold out.

I noticed the tickets on ebay. High prices, but no bidders!

Someone here mentioned standing on line for hours to get tickets when we were younger. Those days were fun!

I'm glad I have my seats and they are decent. I just hope my son will be able to see from our floor seats. I know he will go crazy. I'm packaging ours with a copy of the DVD. I don't think he even knows there is a concert.

Thanks all for your help and insight! Especially LBurg!

Our show is on Sunday. I'll come back and give you all a review soon.

I envy those of you who have shows scheduled for after Christmas.
HSM tickets would have been a fun Christmas present instead of a just because present.

I ended up with extra tickets since a couple of DD's friends who were going to go with us will be out of town.

I put them up on E-bay with a buy it now price that was actually a couple of dollars less than I paid with all the junk fees.
I blew it though - I should have asked a bit more to cover my E-bay fees. :confused3
Oh well, they sold really quickly and the buyer and her daughters were VERY appreciative.
(met them tonight when we exchanged tickets/money)
