Hey y’all! Our kids are finally heading to Florida for their Disney Band trip that was cancelled because of Covid.
We are marching down Main Street at 6pm I was wondering if y’all had any tips on the best place to be so we can get the best view and the best time to be there?
Also will there be photographers taking pictures that we will have access to?
I’m so excited for our daughter because this has been a dream of hers since she was little! And it’s her Senior year ❤️

Thanks y’all! We are so happy to finally be coming home!

We watched a batch of bands few weeks back from the bridge by Sleepy Hollow

We've had two kids march down Main Street in their high school bands. One was in the afternoon and pix were great. You will want to find out which direction they are marching (Frontierland -----> Main Street or visa versa) for best pix opps. Good spots are just on the castle side of Main Street up past Casey's (a high point) and around the hub (can get a Main Street-direction pic and a Liberty Square-direction pic). or Main Street and dash down through Adventureland and catch them by Country Bears (or visa versa).

The second child marched at night when it was dark and lighting for pics (with a cell phone) was much more difficult. The only pics we got from a friend was on the Liberty Square bridge to the hub and the friend had a traditional flash/35mm camera rig. So your march time at 6pm (if that holds) will be a consideration.

As long as it's not too dark then it will be a memory for all of you. Have a great time!

Disney will not provide special photographers- however, you may want to check with your school. The school may bring a photographer to document the event.

Have fun!
Thank you!
We are so excited! I was watching a YouTuber that was a former PhotoPass photographer and he said he took a lot of photos of the marching bands but I don’t know how long ago it was.
we are going to do our best to get some pictures but if not we will at least have the memories ❤️

My DD marched down Main Street, it was such a fun trip! We were right outside of Country Bear and had the best view of the band. So many fabulous memories. Have fun

Thank you! I'm pretty sure they said we will be entering from Frontierland because my daughter said she was excited to go backstage again. She was little when we went to the
Monsterous Summer! All Nighter in 2013 but still remembers thinking how cool the back of Splash Mountain looked.
Thanks for the tips! One of us is going to take pics and the other is going to take a video for those who couldn't go.
She told me this morning that she knows we will both be a bawling mess....My husband said he wants me to make him a shirt
that says...OK NOW MOVE OUT ... HAHA Bless his heart ;) He knows he will be crying too but doesn't want to admit it :)

THANK YOU! We are excited especially since it was such a let down when it was cancelled. She has a friend that is doing the DCP at Country Bear...and I hope that
she gets to see her while we are there.
It is worth every penny ♥

I am a tour director for a company that creates trips for high school music groups. I have 6 WDW trips in the next couple months with marching bands!

For the parade, ask your director to let you know when they learn which direction the group will march. If it was an afternoon parade, chances would be good that it would be the normal route -- starting beside Splash Mountain, around the hub in front of the castle, then down Main Street, to finish through the gate beside the fire station. But with an evening parade, often the parade will proceed in the opposite direction. The group's Disney Imagination Campus representative will be able to tell them.

The reason that is important is because it will help determine your best viewing spot. Think of the hub as a clock, with the castle at 12:00. For the standard route, my favorite spot is about 4-5:00, because you can catch them coming around the hub with the castle in the background of your photos and videos. If it's the opposite direction, I'd watch them come up Main Street, then as they circle the hub, shift over to about 9:00, to catch them coming around and entering the bridge, again with the castle in the background.

As for photos, most groups end up with a series of Photopass photographers capturing images along the route, and then the director is given a photopass card that combines all of them. If you or someone in the group has Memory Maker, ask if you can scan that card to link all the pics.

Hope your child has fun!!

Hi!!!
I asked multiple times this weekend about the PhotoPass of the kids but was told there wasn’t anything they received about or with photos of the kids marching.
It was a very busy and long weekend,so many unexpected things happened as well but my daughters BF asked her to prom in front of the HM!!! She got the best Promposal at the end of the day.
Thank you for all of the information and I’m going to call PhotoPass tomorrow to see if there were photos taken. Every parent posted pics of the band but none of guard. I was too busy cheering them on to take pics and cried after I realized I didn’t get any of my daughter! But my husband got a video for me ❤️

I'm here now, with my third group of the spring, with 4 more to go over the coming weeks.

Unfortunately, it seems that staffing in photopass is not allowing them to capture parades. There may be an exception or two at some point, but that's what I was told when my group marched.
