This is a long shot but here goes: :rotfl:

Does anyone have a picture of the High Rocks Pool at SSR??

Please don't laugh....I'm going alone (no DH and no DS) in October and I'm strying in the Springs section this time. We usually stay in Congress Park, but since I'll be alone  I thought it would be nice to try some other section. I don't know the layout of the pool and being the neruotic planner that I am ;) I just want to get an idea of how the pool is laid out. I know, I know, I'm nuts. What can I say??? :confused3

I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks this way; just the only one silly enough to admitt it!!! :rotfl:

I wonder if you PM'd me with the link it would let you enter it?

I can't help you with the pictures. But I do want to know how do you get away alone? I am so jealous! As I sit here listening to screaming children continually wanting my attention, I just want to crawl in a hole and never come out. Is it time to go back to school yet? I know and I am a teacher!:rotfl2: I just need some alone time! :) Have a wonderful trip!

Well first of all DH can only do "1 trip" per year. I'm the WDW fanatic in the family. Don't get me wrong; when he's there, he absolutely loves it. And secondly, my son is 19 so I have no more "babies" in the house.

A couple of years ago a friend and I planned a short trip so we could go to the Food and Wine Festival. Now I've been to WDW more times than I can even remember so I'm VERY COMFORTABLE there. But I've never been to the F&W. Well, my friend had to cancel and I already had the plane tickets and the reservation over at the Boardwalk. I hold an annual pass to there's no worries about park tickets. So DH said "why don't you go alone" and I looked at him, smiled and the rest is history. I now do this each October for 4 glorious days alone. I arrive early Wednesday and head home Sunday. I can't tell you how much I look forward to this time. I've had many "offers" of companionship from girl friends and I have to "fib" and tell them that DH is joining me. I really don't want anyone with me!!!:rotfl: I do what I want when I want. When I travel with my friends (DH sometimes can't make the trip) I've always put the wishes of my friends before what I really wanted to do. So not this time....baby. This is MY time!!

There's an interactive panaramic view of high rocks pool on the member web site's SSR virtual tour.

The High Rock Spring pool is very nice. To us its the second best pool area in a DVC resort on property. Have a great time!

Someday I hope to also be able to get away by myself. I think it sounds absolutely fantastic. I am also the Disney fanatic so perhaps it will happen some day! Have a wonderful trip! :thumbsup2

Ironically then there are those maiden aunts like me who spend their days all alone working on the computer (I'm a web designer) and crave a little fun time in the midst of kid chaos. Maybe this is why my SILs and I don't get along. I keep wondering why they don't just love being with their kids in the thrall of it all and they keep wishing they had my peace and quiet. Grass is always greener I guess.

If by chance you are there between Oct 1 - 12, you may see my dad (Grandpa Mohawk) and myself there too. Usually we do early morning coffee/hot cocoa strolls throughout the resort and I adore HRS pool.

Here's a few snaps I have from my trip last October (when we took my sis and her boys - they're the fish hamming it up on movie night). My favorite time was the first movie night my sis and I downed a bottle of SSR wine on movie night then snuck out to do EMH at MK. We felt like teenagers again.

Have fun!

If you follow the link in my signature I have several shots of HRS and SSR in general.... :goodvibes

Happy planning!

You're right! Sometimes you want what others have. But honestly, I do love spending time with my kids and appreciate the summers with them. But sometimes I need my own time so I can be the best mom for them. It does oh so much for my patience! :) Your pictures are terrific and I look forward to enjoying SSR next summer!

Okay, I am convinced! I just must do this. Both my kids are grown up and there is no reason I can't - so, I guess I will start planning!!!

Thanks for the GREAT idea!

I'll actually just miss you by a few days. I arrive Oct 15th. I'm an early riser. I love to sit with my coffee and watch the "world" wake up. Thank you for the pictures; I can't want for October.

And thank you to everyone for helping me find my pool pictures!! I know I'm going to have a GREAT time!!!
