So, what do you all do on "cross training" days - especially if you don't belong to a gym? Do any of you still run? Walk?

What are your routines on strength and stretching days?

I either bike or swim (or if I am feeling enthusiastic - BOTH!) :cool1: What I do usually depends on what the weather is like, what my schedule is like, and what I feel like. It really doesn't matter what you choose as your cross training just find something that you love (or at least like) to do :thumbsup2

When I used Higdon to do the dearly departed Minnie 15k, I did weight lifting on XT days--sometimes biking or swimming.

If you're not a gym member, there is a lot you can do for strength with one set of weights and a fit ball.

Another thing I suggets is yoga--it is now one of my favorite things to do and hits both strength and stretch. Do you have cable? Around here, my Comcast On Demand has free yoga videos.

As for which exercises to do for strength/stretch, I think it depends on what you think you need to work on. For me, it is about strengthening my hips, etc to ward off IT band issues. I used this web site to learn about physio and get some useful strength/stretch exercises. Here's the link to the page I used to bookmark.

I bike or swim or do a cardio video. I'm a huge TurboJam fan. Sometimes I torture myself with a Jillian Michaels workout.
