I want to be the first to thank you for not staying at HIFS. The fewer people with a snobbish attitude the better. It's a family resort and I hate to see it ruined by people with an attitude that they are better than others.

Terry, are you raising your kids to be this self-demoralizing? Take it easy on yourself. No one is after you or the hotels you like to collect cereal box tops to get discounts on. Stop making this personal, as it isn't.

All we're saying is that the HIFS isn't worth $184 a night right now *but* we'd like to pay $184 a night to get better food, services, and overall quality. Perhaps the HIFS recognizes this like some of us do and doesn't want to be another me-too fleabag discounter. There is nothing wrong with aspiring to be better or pay more for getting better service now is there?

Your wish is to pay less for a budget suite hotel. Good for you. My wish is to pay more for a moderate suite hotel. Good for me. You appear unable to understand that some folks don't care about the cost; they want an unforgettable experience. Christ, Disney theme park tickets cost a fortune for the five or six rides you can go on a day with all the lines. I'm not ranting at Disney for this. Why? The *quality* of those five or six rides is head and shoulders above the quality of fifteen or twenty rides at Six Flags or another park.

On a personal note, I think you have a problem with people of wealth as evidenced in your posts and the way you look down upon yourself is really sad. Have some self respect and for god-sakes, don't raise your kids to have similarly low standards.

HIFS entertainment rate is the only thing that lets families with "special" children travel together and enjoy the pool like other kids. As my child gets older, I can not carry her into a pool and rather can walk right into it with no problem of straining myself. In fact thanks to HIFS, my new husband and I will be able to take a 2 night honeymoon without my child and leave her at HIFS with my mom, knowing she will be able to use the pool and accomdations. However if it wasn't for the entertainment rate, we'd have to forgo our the "us" time as she would be stuck at another hotel pool "watching" able bodied children swim and not her.
I don't think "wealthy" folks have the right to take over a resort because they want a " off-site resort for themselves."

Help me understand this:

You'll pay, what, $900 for airline tickets to Orlando. You'll pay, what, $500 for theme park tickets for your family. You'll pay, what, $400 for a rental car. You'll pay, what, $300 for food during your trip.

So tell me, what is the big issue with paying, what, $40 more a night to get a better quality experience? Better food, more storage, better parking, a classy entertainer, better TV's, etc.

I don't get it. On average, all of us spend upwards of $3000 per trip to Orlando but the hotel (of all things) is what we should skimp on? The place we sleep and wash and eat? You folks are baffling.

Seriously, we're talking about an extra 10% or so on the overall weekly Disney bill to get food you can eat, better parking, less crowding, and all the rest. Why is that very rational point of view taken as an insult to those less fortunate or stay-home mom's cutting coupons?

The fact is that the clientel make the hotel what it is. HIFS is cutting back on the discount crowd, raising prices, raising standards, and aspiring to be something better and asking us ALL to spend a few more bucks a night. Zero wrong with that. The only way to express my point of view is to imply what HIFS will never say- the entertainment book freeloaders will kill the facility if they're not phased out of the business model. It's economics. Not personal.

You and I both know that "all you were saying" was not that HIFS wasn't worth $184.00 a night. I agreed with this statement early on in our discussion. You took it one step further and chose to insult those of us who like to spend our money wisely. Simply because you were ignorant and overpaid. This was your error and you are taking out your anger on everyone else.

I find it hilarious that you found it acceptable to bring in my children and my parenting into this discussion. It just shows that you are unable to debate this issue.
