HIFS-swim pants requirement

We will be staying at HIFS in August and we recieved our confirmation with a note stating that children 4 and under must wear swim pants. I called to see what type so I could purchase them before I got down there--she said they sell them at the hotel, and they only accept a certain kind--with a plastic lining inside--anyone ever stay there and know what they are talking about? I'd feel more comfortable if I had them before I left. Thanks,Ilisa

What we got there was like a bathing suit bottom with a plastic liner on the inside of it with gathers at the legs.

How much do they charge for these and are they reusable? My 1 1/2 DS is going to want to be in the water every night!

I bought mine on a sale rack at JC Pennys for $3.00, they had them in all sizes, they are called swim diaper, they look like swim trunks but have the aforemetioned plastic liner that gather at the legs, they are washable and reusable, and I think they are VERY cute. The boast on the tag, no diapers (swimmies) required. Hope this helps a little bit and that you might save a little bit of money too!

We bought them there at HIFS and they were $9, so if you can find them before hand for cheaper, go for it!!

How strongly is this policy enforced? I have a 4 year old who will not be thrilled with wearing "swim pants" but I guess she will have to if she wants to swim there.

I find this policy a little funny beings that there are adults who are willing to put a little P in ool~ LOL

Personally I wouldn't make my 4yr old potty trained child wear swim pants and I really don't think HIFS would say anything. I think they are mainly concerned with the toddlers who may have an accident in the pool. We bought our 23month old his swim pants at the pool shop at HIFS . At check in they give you an info sheet with a map of the resort - it has a coupon for $2.50 off the cost. I do think it is a fair policy though- 2 times while we were there the pool had to be closed for cleaning due to an accident.

I know what you mean about your 4 year old, but I don't think you need to worry. When I was there, I recall seeing something on a sign at the pool that swim pants were required for UNDER 4 years old (I know some of the literature implies that this includes 4 year olds and when I spoke to reservations, they gave me the same info you have). However, my daughter is small for her age and no one ever questioned us when she was 4. Also, I doubt that the pool staff would make scene unless the child was clearly very young and unlikely to be potty trained.

If I were you I'd skip the swim pants.

Disney also has this policy. I think if your child still has accidents , even occasionally, you should make them wear the pants. We were at HIFS when a child did have an accident, She was NOT wearing the swimmy pants. This made my family as well as about 75 other people vacate the pool for 3 hours. All of this could have been avoided by following the rules...... I personally think they should have fined the person for the exra time and chemicals it took to clean the pool.
