Has anyone joined the Priority Club before staying at HIFS?
Did it make a difference, esp. with check-in or room preference??
Thanks!:)

Yes, it can make a difference.

You get a late check-out (3:00 if I remember correctly). Also, they will upgrade you to a pool-view for free if there is availability.

It's free and easy to join.

Thank you!
Even though we are only going to stay 1 night this time, we might stay longer in 2004. I want a quiet room so we can get some sleep after the long drive,so do I really want a pool-side room? We surely will be spending time at the pool, but I was thinking about a room overlooking their little lake. For quiet, I guess I need to ask for a higher than ground floor unit?? What do you HIFS vets say???

I think a room overlooking their little lake would be nice :)

I've stayed at HIFS countless times (okay, probably around 18ish different times since they've opened.)

I like QUIET too, and actually would say an upper floor parking lot view is definitely the most quiet. On a corner, so you don't have neighbors is even better. People tend to walk to and from their rooms on the pool side, not to mention the pool noise floats/filters up somewhat anyway, moreso into the sitting area though. The masterbedrooms seem to be better soundproofed.

Anyway, that lil lake they have is also where the food trucks deliver; I know on one visit I was awakened each morning to the beep-beeps of the truck backing in at exactly 6am when we had a 'lake view' room.

Have a great time, and definitely get the Priority Club card...2pm checkout and often they have some kind of free gift (like a coupon for 2 free coke products and a free popcorn from the on-site store)

Thanks,All!
I will order the card today-late checkout would be wonderful .

I have been a member of the priority club for 5 years now and staying at any Holiday Inn it has its advantages. :)

You guys are great. Thank you so much! I know it is only for 1 night this time, but I want to optimize the experience the best I can!
Any other opinions for quiet room requests from HIFS vets??:p
Also,do they have a lot of animal theme rooms? This would be perfect for 10-year-old DD!!

Thanks,Tink! I sure will.
I hope they get it right!:p I have been battling Country Inn &Suites since Feb. to correct my rewards number. I just let them know that I will choose not to stay with them again until they rectify this simple situation.Sheesh!

We have stayed at HIFS 3 or 4 times. Once was in room on first floor (always my request). It overlooked little lake, was on corner. I never heard food trucks (however I am a very heavy sleeper - comes from trying to ignore two children (LOL)). It was very convenient to breakfast.

Once in pool view. More busy, more people walking past to get to pool (again on first floor).

Once in parking lot view (first floor). Very quiet (opposite side of building from busy road).

They have all kinds of themes. We have stayed in jungle, train, Polar Bears, etc. If you ask, they will place request for you. All of my requests have always been met.

They are the most wonderful people you would ever want to meet.

Yea! Can't wait!
They were sooo nice on the phone, and responses to my e-mails have been excellent.

Does the Entertainment rate include breakfast?

Hey there! Any rate at the Holiday Inn Family Suites includes breakfast for all staying in the room.

Enjoy!

One thing they told me I didn't get was the rewards points to my delta skymiles. The reservationist said since I got the entertainment rate which was so low, the points didn't qualify.

LOVETHATMOUSE-I am new to the rewards programs,so I don't know much, but what you were told does not seem right. Shouldn't you get points no matter how much/little you spend?
My Entertainment Rate is rather high-we are staying 1 day before the rates go down:rolleyes: -and I certainly hope we get all the points we are supposed to.
Expert opinions,please!

I am going to call the hotel again and recheck that. I am transferring all my hotel points directly to my skymiles account. I am close to a free ticket, so that is why. It doesn't seem right that we don't get that credit, so I will let you know after I speak to them.

Just got off the phone with HIFS. They told me because the entertainment rate is so low (50% off rack rate) that they do not qualify for rewards points. Is that stupid or what! If you book through entertainment club, consolidators, etc. this is what happens. If you get a special rate through their sales, etc THEN you get rewards points. Basically because we are paying only 76 a night, that is way below rack rate, we don't get the rewards points. :( :( :(
