Would you pick HIFS ($109) suite or All stars, 2 rooms one for children for ($110)??? Need help quick!! Thanks

I'd say HIFS... I stayed at POR last November with DH & my 2 DS... it was crammed... Although you'll have more room with 2 ASMo rooms, the free breakfast & dinners (if you are using the FLA USA Lottery discount) would make my mind up for me.. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to stay onsite again & probably will at some point, but for the added ammenities; HIFS is a better deal. I've heard nothing but great things about them & hope to experience the same this October!

Hi Kathyclownfish!

If you haven't been to WDW before and are only going with one young child(age3-8) upgrade to the Wilderness Lodge(one queen size bed and bunk bed room), for the same time period, because you will NOT see the rates of the rooms THIS LOW at WDW at these levels IN THE FUTURE.

If you want quite time with your partner go HIFS.
or
If you plan on visiting SeaWorld and Universal go HIFS.
ENJOY! :jester:

Hello kathyclownfish- I recently answered your other posts, there are other questions to ask yourself. Free breakfast for all and if I'm correct your rate of 109.00 includes adult dinners. Kids eat free with adults also, so how much do you budget into your vacation for meals? It can add up quickly. Also at the buffets, my kids tried a little of different things until they found what they liked. When we stayed on-site and ate at the rest. we had to hope that the kids meals were ( o.k. ) or they wouldn't finish all their food and would be hungry later on, more $$. Their pool was on par with Disney resort's, no poolslide, but the Allstars don't have hottubs. Nighttime kareoke, bingo and dancing ( family oriented ).

I have stayed at both and your can't go wrong with either place.

But-- If you've never been to WDW before, I would stay at the All Stars. If you have been there before, I would stay at HIFS. JMVHO

Thanks everyone! I have 2 children. Have to think about the money! :( But HIFS looks pretty good from pictures one of the posts had the other day:p . We stayed at the Carribean Beach Resort in 2000 (money was no issue). It was great! Maybe next time we will be back on property. After doing away with the EE; I feel that the high costs of staying on property can't be justified anymore.
THanks for helping for make my decision!:Pinkbounc

Good day to all!

We are at HIFS Oct. 19-25. Free breakfast buffet for adults, kids 12 and under eat free (with adult), plus the free adult dinner buffets with the Family Value plan. My question, can you visit the buffet more than once? Does anyone know the times of the buffets. Our kids seem to eat small, but get hungry just a couple of hours later! Thanks for any input!;)

Brenny, the last time I was there, the buffet opened at 6:30 in the morning. You could visit the buffet as often as you want, and they had take out trays and cartons so you could take the food back to your room, if you wanted. It was great. Milk-white and chocolate-was available (unlike the Disney hotels).

Kathy, you are gonna love Holiday Inn Family Suites! (see my sig-we've done both)

Who woulda thought! Carry out too! This place sounds better all the time for an off-site place. Anyone have an idea how late the pool and game rooms are open?

Debbie, Thanks for reassuring me! I still haven't cancelled that reservation for 2 rooms at the All Star Music. I just feel maybe there won't be as much "magic" staying off site. I'll probably go w/HIFS, but I'm tettering!! Thanks. :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Hello BrennyK- I believe thepool closes at 12. They strictly enforce the time. They have self latching fences around the pool, ( we sent our youngest ahead of us to get a lounge chair and he came back and said that he couldn't reach the release ) after midnight they lock and patrol the hotel grounds. The hotel is family oriented "not" party central. I think that the gameroom is also open till 12.
You can visit the buffet until you explode. Each morning my DH went to the buffet before 7am. He ate and then brought back several trays with everything you could imagine. If the kids really enjoyed something then we'd stop at the buffet for them on the way out. You could bring some of the better traveling foods back to your room and take it with for a snack later on.
We stayed their for 10 days last year and we figured we saved over 400.00 on food by eating our meals there.

We have stayed at both and are booked again in October. We really LOVE Disney resorts but are taking my Niece and Nephew with us and want our own room. We also considered booking 2 connecting rooms at All- Stars with the new codes. We have stayed at ALL-Stars Music, Sports, and Movie's. We decided for the $$ we would rather stay at HIFS. FREE breakfast, Kids eat free lunch and dinner with 1 paying adult, free mini fridge, Free Kingsize bed(normally pay $20 extra at Disney). Pool is close and huge. All Star pool kinda small and crowded. I also like being able to bring breakfast back to the room and microwave it when the kids wake up. I am still Pro-Disney, but will stay at HIFS when family is traveling with us. My Pictures of HIFS are at www.picturetrail.com Where it say's visit album/member's name put Tluvs2talk.

Thanks for the info on pool/gameroom closings.:D I was hoping they both stayed open late. Beings this is our 1st trip there we are trying to cram in alot in a limited time. I first had HIME booked but saw all the favorable info on HIFS and booked it. We're going on a tight budget, but I justified the extra room rate with the free adult dinner buffets in the family value packet! Also on the fact that the hotel would be entertainment enough for the kids at night, as opposed to trying to find night things to do. I'm also glad to know it's not party central! And what a good idea -- things off the buffet for WDW snacks! You guys are great! I'm getting all kinds of good ideas from the DISboards!;)
Thanks!

I have stayed at both also and all I can say is if HIFS was onsite it would be the ultimate resort! ....not to mention it would be sold out every day of the year!

I'm big on convenience and space and the HIFS has both. The only downside is the transportation but if you have your own car it's a breeze. I depended on the shuttle and don't like sprinting to a bus on a schedule!

The buffet, the game room and the ambience is an experience in itself. Have a great trip! and your niece and nephew are LOVE you for it!
