Wow.. I need information on that entertainment card! What a bargain!!! I had looked at their website several times online and the best rate I ever came up with for one of the kids suites was $149 or maybe it was $129 but I know I haven't seen it lower than that!

What a great deal! MOre info on entertainment card please... pass that info along to me! LOL

Hi, BibbidyBobbidyBoo (love your name).
I will be happy to pass along what I know: The entertainment book is like a coupon book which is often used as a fundraiser. I do seem to remember Boy Scouts coming to my house to try to sell it; at the time, I didn't realize how valuable it was! There are coupons inside for restaurants, hotels, attractions, etc. But the real value is a plastic card attached to the inside cover. This card gives you a code or number which you can use at certain hotels for "up to" 50% off rack rates. In the case of HIFS, it was 50% off the rack rate of $146. You don't actually need to have the card when you call to book the hotel, just when you check in (In fact, I don't have mine yet)! Only a certain number of rooms are set aside for that rate, so once you have your dates, call and ask! I actually delayed calling because I didn't think the rate would be available yet, 8 months out. I was wrong! You can buy the book for your area, or the Orlando book. Check out the website for a list of the coupons in each book to see which one you will use more. I don't care if I don't use any of them, the card alone will save me major bucks! They run about $25 to $35, depending on the area. Oh, and I believe the books expire at the end of Nov., so if you are going in Dec. you need next year's book. Here is the website where you can check it out and also buy it if you choose. Good luck!!

FYI I would call and check w/HIFS 1st to see if they have availability at the entertainment rate. you don't need the card to book only at check in. When I booked it was not available and they told me to try back in a few months. The orlando magiccard (free) has some rates as low as $129

Does anyone have the pnoe number or link to oreder the orlando magiccard? I'll be going to WDW in Sept. & want to allow enough time to get the card before our trip.
Thanks,
Terri

Seawitch: It is Holiday Inn Family Suites, in Lake Buena Vista just outside of WDW. It is an all-suites hotel which is mostly known for (at least on these boards) its KidSuites. Here's the link:

I don't have a phone number for Magicard, but the website is orlandoinfo.com.

If you have a AAA card, you can get a cheaper rate at HIFS, but for the week I wanted, the entertainment rate was cheaper....

You can get a rate of $109/night through Dreams Unlimited. I tried to get the Entertaibnment rate for teh second week of December and was told no by HIFS reservations, so I booked with Dreams Unlimited, and will keep trying for the Entertainemnt rate.

Maybe it's still too early for December because I was told the current books expire in November, and the new ones aren't out yet.

Mary

Thanks for the info on this great rate. It is very tempting to try HIFS with a rate like this.

I agree Muffy!! I mean we have to drive anyway when the whole family goes... so we don't HAVE to use WDW transportation onsite... I could talk myself into staying offsite again at this rate at HIFS!

And MrsMud.. thank you so much for all the info! :)

If you're considering purchasing the Entertainment book be sure to visit http://www.dealcatcher.com/ first - they currently have a coupon for $10 off the price of a book and free shipping!

Another good site for room coupons is http://www.roomsavers.com/

I e-mailed the Holiday Inn Family Suites and got a letter back that
I could get $99.50 for March 20 - 26 using the Entertainment
book.

I'm not sure yet if I'll do it.

We can get the Quality Suites- Universal for $79.20
Both hotels have a full breakfast and sleep 6.
We will be using this hotel while going to Universal and
Sea World and they offer free shuttles. The Holiday
Inn doesn't.

Any other information you can give me on the differences
between these hotels?
