Hidden Treasure on the Magic!

Yeah, I was not trying to be negative—was trying to give OP my view of how best to ensure these beautiful gifts do not go to waste and are seen as welcome and appreciated (and I do agree with one pp who pointed out the choking hazard—I had to screen FEs on our first cruise when I had a toddler and dispose of some small objects that were not safe for our little guy). Think of this thread not as criticism but as pixie dust optimization strategy.

On deck at the pirate party might be another good place to distribute. I remember fondly a nice man who approached me and my twins and asked if we would like some glow stick bracelets as he brought extra to share. My twins loved it! But I am glad he asked.

Yea, not really a fan of them. They aren't personalized or creative the way that lots of the painted rock communities are. just mass produced small rubber ducks sitting around.
I'm not crazy about the painted rocks, either. It was quite jarring to walk up to a scenic overlook at the Golden Spike National monument and be greeted by a bright lime green rock sitting on the entry fence post.

My first inclination was to pick it up and throw it as far as I could. But then I realized that would only move it to another location it was not naturally from. So I tossed it into the trash bin.

Count me as in the "Awesome idea... not sure how execution would go.." camp in terms of hiding the boxes around the ship.

In this day and age, I can easily see someone reporting "a person trying to hide a suspicious package," or reporting "finding a suspicious package." And I could see the resulting events being... not so magical for the OP :( .

Why?

Hoping OP updates on their return.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions! My daughter and I had a great time doing this and it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Putting a message in the chests was a great Idea thanks @Quellman. Instead of hiding all the chests at once we decided to hide one at a time and stay close to them in case any CM’s or security had any issues, if so we would of approached them and explained what we were doing and show them the other chests we had. This wasnt the case at all. We hid them during a busy time mostly in the atrium so they would be found quickly, within minutes. This actually worked out better because my daughter and I were able to see all the reactions of all the people when they found them. We watched as one young girl ran across the entire atrium after spotting one on the overlook while waiting in line at a character meet snd greet. It took her awhile to open it but when she finally did and read the note she became very excited, she held it up to her family and they all came over to take pictures. The other reactions were just as priceless. Thanks again for all the feedback.
