I am hoping someone can give me some advice. I am a beginner crocheter. I can only do the single stitch, but want to learn more. Anyway, I have something in mind, but don't know how to make it. I want to crochet some hidden Mickeys into a scarf, but don't know how to make the pattern.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hm...I'm not too sure how you'd do this and make them hidden. The easiest way to figure out shapes within a piece is to think of each stitch like a square on graphing/grid paper. Something like this:

XXXXXXXXXXXOXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXOOOXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXOOOOOXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXOOOOOOOXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXOOOOOXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXOOOOOOOOXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOXXXXXXXX
XXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOXXXXXXX
XXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOXXXXXXXX
XXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOXXXXXXX
XXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOXXXXXX
XXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXOOOXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXOOOXXXXXXXXXXXX

So if I did this correctly, you should see a very basic Xmas tree. Each X and O is a stitch, just in whatever color you need it to be for your design. Where it could get tricky is changing colors and keeping your gauge steady. I've never done anything like this in practice, but I've seen it done in large scale designs. You have to be very diligent about counting stitches so your design comes out correctly.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXOOOXXXXXXXXXOOOXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXOOOOOXXXXXXXOOOOOXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXOOOOOOOXXXXXOOOOOOOXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXOOOOOXXXXXXXOOOOOXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXOOOXOOOOOOOXOOOXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

And if I did this right, there should be a rudimentary mickey head (fingers crossed)

Thank y'all! :goodvibes Now I just have to figure out how to switch colors and follow a pattern! :rotfl2: Off to you tube! (That's how I learned the basic stitch.)

What if you did just the basic stitch in one color then go over in cross stick for the mickey head.
