Hickory Farms - new flat rate shipping!

Hickory Farms has changed their shipping to a flat rate of $10.00 IMO, that is reasonable.

I think they found no one was ordering at the ridiculous prices they were charging for shipping. Stuff is definitely flying off the shelves now. I had a couple of items go out of stock as I was attempting to place my order.

I got everything I ordered, but the selection was quite limited.

Me, too. I ended up getting a confirmation (finally!)...

I used code VISA15 and it took my shipping off completely. Not sure why?!

Funny you mentioned your Dad not knowing.... I ordered for my folks and then called them and told them. LOL We were going to place an order last week, but the shipping was too rich for our poor hillbilly hearts!

I put that code in, too, but it didn't do a single teeny tiny thing. (The VISA15 does show up in my order confirmation, but all $$$ stayed exactly the same.)

Still, good, inexpensive packable lunch for dance competition days.

Yep, thats why I went ahead and bought what I think he'd want. I would have gotten the ham had it still been in stock when I got to the checkout.

Nope shipping to one address and chose standard shipping but at checkout it upgrades it to priority. Oh well. What I really wanted went out of stock while I was trying to figure it out.

I freeze the sausage in the packaging it comes in...defrosts beautifully. The cheese usually has a pretty good date on it, so I keep it in the fridge (have never tried to freeze). Not sure on the fruit...

Never got an email, either. I just decided to login and check.

No email here either. But I just went to their website and checked -- it says my order has been shipped. I ordered on 1/10, and it arrived at FedEx on 1/11 at 9pm.

Finally got an email that my backordered stuff was out of stock and wouldn't be available but I could pick alternate items (which at this point there is practically nothing)..

So I called and she said they'd eventually get more if I wanted to wait. We'll see who is right. Why would they clearance it out if they're eventually going to get more? Hmmm.

I told her I'd wait. I ordered the Summer Sausage Trio boxes (never had the ham but looove the turkey and the beef) so I hope they come back into stock. There isn't really anything else comparable as only one other box has the turkey we love and we wouldn't eat the cheese/sauces that come with it.

Anyone else hear anything different?
