I bought two hibiscus about a month ago and potted them both. The first week the blooms were just beautiful, although I will admit I was amazed that the flowers last only one day. Since then, they are not blooming as often and I often find buds dropped before they bloom. One of the plants has had shriveled flowers with brown edges. I am assuming that I am not watering enough. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm good a being at puppy mom, but am new to raising flowers! :p

I ordered two, which just arrived on Thursday, so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. :)

I have five hibiscus plants. They don't get much sun in the winter, so they haven't been blooming much lately. Now that the sun has shifted position, I have noticed alot more buds on them. Once in a while I find a bud that has turned brown or somehow broken off. I am not sure what causes this.

Just make sure you keep them watered regularly without overwatering them and make sure they get plenty of sun (at least 6 hours a day would be nice). Try not to worry too much about the buds falling off. Usually plants go through a transition period when you pot them. Your plants might be putting their energy into the root system now rather than blooming.

Good luck and I hope you have gorgeous flowers to enjoy all summer long! :)
