I've been lurking around these boards for a solid year now, dreaming of taking our first Disney vacation. I've finally just decided that I can't take it anymore, lol. I'm planning a trip for dd (who will be 8 at the time) and me to have our first ever Disney vacation, girls only, in September 2012.

Yeah, if you happen to be there, I'll be the crazy lady sobbing as I finally get to see Cinderella's Castle in person. You can either laugh at me or smile as you think about the fact that a thirty year, lifelong dream is finally coming true :lovestruc

We'll be spending eight days, seven nights at Pop Century on the QSDP (I think that's the right abreviation, lol.) My dd is super excited, but her excitement isn't even near mine by half.

I've been researching our trip already, but really looking forward to all the advice, trip reports and positive Disney energy that you guys can give me on the Dis. Thanks for everything already. I can't wait to come back and write my own trip report of our very first visit to the World.

Congrats on finally booking your trip!!! I had the same experence for myself and my DD last year, she was 10 and me 30. Only thing was that I couldnt wait so long to take it once I decided to. I made the decision and was there just two really long weeks later! I think I was more excited that here and wore the poor girl out running her around the place like crazy!!

Thanks, stasijane. Nice to see another mom who took her dd there alone. My dh hates to travel or fly anywhere, and I'm actually excited about being on our own.

I wish we could go in two weeks, but instead, we'll be in PA with my family at that time, so not half bad :goodvibes

DD and I have already been to Punta Cana (twice) and PA with family on our own, so I think we'll do great in Disney. I just wish it wasn't so far away; it's killing me!

Yeah, thats a long time to wait for something so fantastic!!! It sounds like you will both do great with already having some experence traveling. Since it was such short notice on our parts I had no time to get airfare so we drove, I have done alittle traveling before but had never drove so far alone and the first time really traveling long distance for my DD. It went so smoothly we have made the trip twice since then!

That's awesome. The farthest we've driven is PA, which is only a six hour trip. I give lots of props to you. It sounds like you guys really love going though.

We figure that it takes about four and a half hours to fly to Punta Cana. At the three and a half hour mark, if not three, we're over Florida, so not too bad. It's worth the wait though, because I want to save up as much money as possible, lol.
