It was 35 degrees here in central Texas at 9:00 this morning Fortunately, we're supposed to be back up to normal tomorrow!

Hello everyone, I need a favor... could you all say some prayers for my dog Banditt? I found out today that my old girl is very sick, she has a tumor by her heart and we don't know how long she will last. Banditt is a border collie and has been with us for the last 16 years. I lost her daughter Squeeky last November after a lengthy illness. Banditt's other daughter Azul is still with us. I had 8 dogs at one time and Banditt and Azul are the last two of the original 8. The first six all lived to be pretty old but it does not get any easier to let them go. Thank you everyone, Banditt is very close to my heart. Terri

Prayers ... done. So sorry to hear about Banditt. (16 - Wow!) I'm a dog owner and SUPER dog lover ... had many as a child (up to 5 at a time sometimes) and now I have a big Akita. Your story made me cry.

DH and I will do what is best for her, we will not allow her to suffer. I have had 3 dogs die at home and 3 put down. I hate all of it. I struggle each time and blame myself. Our vet assures me otherwise every time. I know they can only last so long but it should be longer. Thank you everyone.

Minechuchie so sorry about Banditt. I will for sure say prayers for her. We just lost our dog Montana to cancer in August so I know what you are going through and how hard it is. PM me if you need someone to talk to. I know the feeling too of blaming yourself. I still feel that way from the dog I had put down 9 years ago. Please know that by doing what is best for your dog and putting her first you are a truly loving and great pet parent. I admire that and hope you get the support and comfort you need in this difficult time.
And your are right it should be longer.

Did anyone see the local news - our school district was on lockdown today - there was a shooting in the area & the suspect fled on foot, armed, so they locked down the school. One son got home but the other was locked in the school for an hour til they released them. Of course I was supposed to pick him up at 3:45, the lockdown started at 3:35 & I knew nothing - so I'm sitting out in the parking lot waiting & waiting, it never dawned on me that no other parents were there, no kids were around, and there were cops & helicopters everywhere! That's a ton of excitement in our little town!

Terri, my thoughts are with you and your puppy. I have a Border Collie/Black Lab mix. They are so much fun. Mine is 11 years old and slowing down. Had 2 dogs before her (1 died at home and her daughter we had to put to sleep. They both made it to 12 years.) Lost 5 cats in the past few years, the last 2 being 3 months ago. We had to put the second last to sleep and the last one died a week later, we think, of a broken heart. We are now down to 1 cat and 1 dog but will be getting 2 new kitties tomorrow.

Saucon Valley School District. The WFMZ website is very vague, just saying that the lockdown was in connection to a man & an "incident" in the area. I just tried to take my son to football practice & the state police helicopters are all over, flying very low, and many streets are closed. They were flagging us away from the park, yelling that practice was cancelled, so something's up.

I called my friend whose BIL is a Bethlehem cop & he said it's hush hush but a drug deal went bad, the suspect fled, got involved in an accident, fired shots & fled on foot, armed. But this is heresay, we'll see what the real story is once the news finds out! I'm hoping Channle 69 at 10 has more info.

i think the D stands for DEAR; i never heard of it meaning Disney but i guess it could too!

so sorry to hear about everyone's dog's passing. i know what its like to deal both with having to put down and the guilt and also having them die at home. It's all so hard and not fair they don't live long like most humans. Prayers and pixie dust!

You are right. Awesome night. Just a shame that people have to do destruction when winning a championship. It just spoils things. I took in Phila. pretzels from the Phila Pretzel factory in Phillies honor today. Boy they did not last long. Withdrawal tonight, no baseball
