I will be flying out of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in September. I booked a vacation package through Boscov's Dept. store (I love that store!! )
Boscov's is the only place that you can book a Non-Stop flight from Scranton to Orlando. They use Southwest Airlines and I got a really good deal.

Hi everyone........another from NE PA here.....halfway between Scranton and Wilkes Barre......very close to the Toyota Pavillion. We're heading to VWL (our home resort) right after New Years......1/4 thru 1/11......youngest is a freshman at PSU this year so we have to fit the trip in before spring semester begins on 1/14......my favorite time at VWL is mid December (12/10 thru 12/20ish), but, finals don't end until 12/18 and that's waaaaay to close to Christmas to begin the trip. We always make the hike to PHL to fly Southwest nonstop.......and AVP is right in my backyard, but, I've never paid more than $127 rd trp on SW and the last few trips (1/07 and 5/07) it's been $117 rd trp, so even with parking (approx. $60) in PHL it's still way less expensive to make the drive than pay $250 and up for a seat......not to mention having to stop or transfer flights........and that just means we can go more often!!!! This trip there will only be three of us.....DH, myself and youngest DS......the older two kids and grandson (almost 6) have decided to bow out this trip.....actually I don't think my daughter even told our grandson because I don't think he would be too happy about it.

Hi princesspat209.......we love SW.....their customer service is the absolute best......not like a lot of other airlines at all. Being from Honesdale you actually could also very easily go to Newburgh, NY and fly JetBlue. We've considered it, but, usually get a better price on SW and have been extremely satisfied with SW and since it's about the same distance for us no need to change.......not to mention winter travel is better heading south to the airport rather than north!!! Have a great time on your Oct. trip.........F & W Festival is a great time to visit......we were there last year mid October and had a great time.

Is anyone a member of the NFFC in Pa? If so, can you talk about it a little bit?

And, when is our PA Disboard User's meet? We can make this a 4 hour type of event and try to get someone to actually speak. There are so many professional Disney enthusiasts in the area that we could get someone.

No, feet1, we're not in Glenmaura, but, on the other side of 81 just a bit south of the mountain.....we use the "access" road (the back way in) as we still call it when we go up the mountain either to Cinemark or the Shoppes. It's actually called Glenmaura National Blvd and takes you past the golf course and club. The Shoppes are very nice, at least now in good weather.......however, since everything is wide open AND on the mountain I can't imagine what it will be like in the winter up there......I know I won't do a lot of walking from store to store November thru March. The wind up there is a killer in bad weather. My youngest son is working part time at Olympia Sports and they seem to be doing a pretty brisk business, especially on weekends. The Christmas Tree Shop seems to be doing the best.....the parking lot in front of their building is always packed. I try to stop in there at least once every few weeks. They have some neat stuff. We also stopped by to eat at Kildare's Pub one evening........food was very good and the place is really nice. Tried Longhorn Steakhouse and didn't like it all.......food just OK and service was awful (we waited almost 1/2 hour for a server.....we were just ready to get up and leave).
