I went to high school right over the mountain from Tamaqua & on a Sunday we'd find whoever had a license & could borrow a car to go there & eat ice cream! I was the only one out of my friends & family that could eat an entire Atomic (the big one, not the Atomic Junior). After graduation we went there & I have a picture of me with my graduation cap in front of an Atomic. Oh this is sad news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds good maybe ANTSS will chime in? We took a tour of the AKL Villas and WOW! I'm so excited to stay there if only for a few days, when we stayed at the lodge I spent so much time on the balcony watching the animals I could have just hung out there and been happy.

Yes they closed, but there are places in Berks County that you can still buy Leiby's ice cream. Jen & Jess's on 73, One on 222 heading towards Allentown across from Super Duper, the name is escaping me and some dairies. Try doing a google search for Leiby's ice cream and your might find places near you that carry it. I used to love to eat at Leiby's too. There is one place I never left without dessert, usually teaberry ice cream. Did you ever try teaberry gum. It is hard to find, but occasionally you can still find it. The peanut shop on 61 has it sometimes.

Yes, more time would have been nice, but at least we got to meet each other. Oh, I think you should just get in there, introduce yourself & plan for the meet! I've read on many TRs how great is was to meet up with other DISers!!! Go for it!!! You'll have a blast! If not quite a blast, you'll spend some time with nice people!

OK....here it is, the big confession....I have never been to Knoebels!! Bigger confession...it doesn't really bother me! Yes, I know...the shame of it all! When my kids were little, we just went to Hershey or Dorney Park when we needed the ride thing!


We should contact ANTSS & see if a meet would be good for her too! Keep in touch & we'll decide on something as the time gets closer! You'll be at AKL...I've never been there. You'll have to tell us all about it! My brother will be at conferences during the daytime, so my DSIL, Mom & I will be out on our own!!!!

Wow....you're staying at 3 resorts during your April trip???? That's a lot of moving around. Well, since you leave on the 25th & I get there on the 23rd, how about something on Thursday the 24th???? I don't have anything planned yet. Maybe something in the am??? Tracie are you out there??? What do you think?
