Hi i'm from P.A.!!!!

Uh yes I grew up in Shenandoah, actually not "in" shenandoah but one of the patches right outside. SV '96 ;)

We use tix about 99% of the time, usually its just the kids on the rides. No point of me and dh getting 30$ handstamps for 2 or 3 rides we do with the kids, the trains, carousel, cosmotron, tilt a whirl, sploosh, log ride, okay its more than 2 or 3 but still wont add up to 30 something dollars :thumbsup2 We usually go every weekend... I can't wait for yummy food again!

I love those cheeseburgers! and then the ice cream when the park is closing

I totally go there for the foods, the rides are a bonus:cool1: I've never seen the alligator, I'll have to look for it this summer, I don't think that I'd try it, but I would like to look:laughing:

Alligator?? Um, I haven't seen any lately in PA....must be frozen, processed alligator!

Sorry I was misspelling Shenandoah (I probably still am)! Anyone know any Vascavages from Shenandoah? Class of '88 was one...we called him Woody, can't remember his real first name. Scott maybe? Steve?

tara you can just call it Shendo like most of us do up here. Sorry I dont know them.

Hi Madisonsmom926! My grandparents live in Catawissa and I used to work at Knoebels, but I haven't been to Selinsgrove in probably 20 years. I'm sure it's changed alot since then.
I'm sure it has. I know that they are in the process of building a new strip center with a Target and Home Depot ( I think.) We used to love going to Knoebles too!

The Phoenix?!?!?!?!? That wasn't even there (I don't think) when I went on my 1st date there in 1986.....we paid with tickets back then! Must go dig those photo booth pics out.....

Hi MadisonsMom926! My family is from Northumberland & Schuykill Counties so yes I know where Selinsgrove is!!
That's cool, most people just look at me funny when I tell them where I'm from. Then I have to try and explain it and I am not very ggod with directions at all. My DH says that unless you can provide shopping areas with those directions you are best to not even try :rotfl2: .

WOW, we totally LOVE Knoebles. those who dont' know how to say it, it is pronounced... KaNobles not nobles. HTH. They now also have a new ride it is like a bobsled ride. Looks like fun. MUST HAVE FUDGE when you go there from Stoney Gables.

I love Knobels, too!!!
It's so great to not have to pay a full price admission for someone who doesn't ride rides!

Has anyone ever spent the night in the cabins and cottages they have?
or any decent hotels around?

We are about 2 hrs from there...it would be nice to go up and spend the night the day before, and hit the ground running in the morning.

Someone checking in from Moosic, PA! Was born and raised in Scranton and work in Scranton. Did everyone see that Hillary Clinton is going to attend the Scranton St. Patrick's Day parade. I haven't been to the parade in years but it is the 3rd largest St. Patrick's Day parade in the US (or so I'm told!).

Absolutely love Knobels!

Also the home of my favorite employer, Dunder Mifflin :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
You all need to be very very quiet about Knoebels, ok? Because it is our little secret. ssshhhhh.

The teaberry ice cream is sooooo good!

tara you can just call it Shendo like most of us do up here. Sorry I dont know them.
I just about did a spit take when I read this:lmao: When I worked at the Fairgrounds mall my boss was from Shendo and that was just how he said it. He was quite the guy. Miss his humor. I will always say it Shendo.

Another teaberry ice cream fan. That is my favorite. All family knows that when we go to places that sell ice cream and have teaberry, that is what I get. It is the best. They do have fabulous ice cream at Knoebel's and reasonable too.

Hi to all the new PAers & (kinda PAers)!! :wave2:
Just wanted to say HI to everyone here!! All of my family is in PA. I lived there for 25 years until my DH and I packed up the kids and moved to SC, only 5 hours from Disney:woohoo: . We are from Selinsgrove if anybody knows where that is!
5 hours from Disney....how sweet!! :woohoo:

:rotfl: does anything ever change in PA?
uh.......NO!!! That's why we need time away at Disney!

Oh Knoebels! Suddenly I feel so homesick. I wanna ride the Phoenix!!!!
OK....here it is, the big confession....I have never been to Knoebels!! Bigger confession...it doesn't really bother me! Yes, I know...the shame of it all! When my kids were little, we just went to Hershey or Dorney Park when we needed the ride thing!

Sure that sounds like fun:thumbsup2 We don't have any plans so what ever works for you should be fine with us.
We should contact ANTSS & see if a meet would be good for her too! Keep in touch & we'll decide on something as the time gets closer! You'll be at AKL...I've never been there. You'll have to tell us all about it! My brother will be at conferences during the daytime, so my DSIL, Mom & I will be out on our own!!!!

OMG teaberry ice cream! The only place I've ever seen that is in central PA. My grandparents always got that as hard ice cream, or as custard if they could find it. What is that brand they used to have - Big Top? Carnival? I can see the box of teaberry ice cream that was always in their freezer. Maybe it was Weis brand, it had carnival-type pictures on the box. Anyone remember that? My mom & brother still get hard teaberry ice cream when we travel up that way. Wow what I wouldn't give to watch my grandparents eating a bowl of teaberry ice cream right now. If there's teaberry ice cream in Heaven they've found it for sure!

Stoney Gables was one of the places I used to work at (besides The Wharf, The Saloon and Totem Treats). Thank goodness I worked there when I was younger and could eat whatever I wanted w/o gaining weight. There were always random pieces of fudge that were too small to sell so we couldn't let them go to waist, I mean waste :rolleyes1 .

I know Big Top made teaberry because my grandmother always used to get that kind.

The Old Mill at Knoebels sells Hershey's Ice Cream. I know they sell cartons of some Hershey's flavors at the Allentown Farmer's Market, but I don't know if they have teaberry.

I think Leiby's might have carried teaberry as well, before they closed :sad1: .

anyone else see the weather next week?? I see 60's for next wed (with rain of course) but 60 Could it be spring is here early??

I see 80's next week - I'll be in the Bahamas Out Islands with my family! I'll duck now to avoid all the rock throwing.....

That would be how it is - I leave the area & it gets nice here.
