I am a lurker on here and noticed some medical questions being asked on here. My son (17 months old) has been running a fever today. It hasn't gotten over 100, but when the fever goes down he gets a rash that has little welps in it. The rash is patchy and only a small spot at a time. It will go away after about 30 minutes. I was wonding if anyone has seen this and could please tell me what it is.

Thank you

No advice --- but, I hope your baby is feeling better soon!

Also, WELCOME TO THE DIS!!!!!

The only advice I have for you is to take your baby to the doctor. Whenever there is a fever involved, there is an infection. Have the professionals find out what it is.

BTW ~ welcome to the DIS!

Hi, Thanks for the welcome!!!!!

Yes, he is very fair skinned. I am going to call the Dr in the morning, but I thought I would ask for some advice first to see if anyone else has heard of this.

My dd is very fair. When she runs a fever, she gets red patches that disappear, usually on her cheeks. They don't last for too long. I asked the dr about it one time and it seems like he said it was a form or rosella (sp?). He said I could be horticortisone cream on it, but it wasn't anything to be too worried about.

I hope that's your ds's situation to. Please keep us updated about what the dr says.:)

Welcome to the DIS.

He get the roseola(sp?) also, but this looks different. My DD (7) also got the roseola when she ran fevers. I will definatly let you know what the Dr says tomorrow. Thanks for your help.:earsboy:
