Hi I am new and I just found this site. I think it is great and has so much info. My family is going to WDW in May for the first time. I went once as a teenager, but so much has changed. The only things back then was MK and Epcot. My family is me(34) my DH(37) and our DD's (10) and (7). We are also going to Seaworld and Aquatica. We are all soooo excited!!!:cheer2:

Welcome to DIS! I love this website too...

Your family will have a great time - your DDs are the perfect age to enjoy it!

Where is Pocahontas, IL? I live in the Chicagoland area and I have never heard of it. Also thanks for the welcome.

Welcome to the DIS! You will love WDW.

Noticed the age of your DD's. Our DD was 10 the first time we took her and I thought I would give you a word of advice. The only trouble we had the first trip was the amount of walking. Our DD was not anticipating this much walking and even now 2 years later she will say she wished she had known going into the trip. She was kind of cranky the first few days. So you might want to start walking in the evenings a little while before the trip to kind of get them use to it! Now, going into our 3rd trip, she knows what to expect and we do start walking about a month in advance after school to get her ready!

Hello fellow Illinoisian. We will be going for the first time this May also with 3 boys ages 9,6,2. I have been planning for over a year and this site has tons of info!!

40 miles east of St. Louis - that would be downstate from you! Claim to fame, the home town of Gretchen Wilson (the country singer).

Have fun on your trip. You will find lots of great info here!

Hello from the South Suburbs! You'll love Disney in May! We're going in November! So where do all of you Illinoisians hail from?

Thanks for the advice but my 10 year old won't be a problem she has boundless energy, it is my 7 year old, she gets tired quickly and doesn't like being really hot so hopefully it won't be too hot when we go. I have a feeling I will have to rent a stroller for her - how sad since she will be 8 when we go. This past summer we spent a day at Great America in Gurnee and it was probably the hottest most humid day of the summer and they were ok. Now I know the WDW parks are much bigger than Six Flags, but I'm hoping they will be fine me on the other hand maybe I should start walking everyday to get ready!

Welcome to the DIS! We live in Carol Stream (about 45 minutes from Huntley). My DH's parents live in Huntley at Del Webb.

Hey KatMark we're neighbors! We are in Wheaton. Wondering if it will stop snowing soon.:goodvibes

Hi, Lynn. We really are neighbors...we used to spend a lot of time in Wheaton with sports with our boys when in high school. I'm beginning to think it will never stop snowing. DH and I wish we were going to Disney now and not seven months from now.

Is it snowing by you? It's not snowing here.

No, just very foggy and drizzle. The snow is supposed to start again tomorrow evening. They just said on the weather channel about 5 inches tomorrow night into Wednesday.
